Do you still occasionally smoke analogs? Or have you switched entirely to e-cigarettes?

Some people quit smoking analogs right away once they start vaping ecigs. Others use ecigs to cut down on and compliment analogs but never quit analogs for good. Where do you fall? Do you still smoke analogs sometimes? If you quit analogs for good, did it take a while to transition only to ecigs?
No.......Instantly......

I bought a JoyeTech Starter Kit in early 2013. Tried it a couple times and wasn't impressed enough with it to regularly use it and quit the smokes. Decided to switch to the roll-your-own pipe tobacco cigarettes, and it got rid of my little smoker's cough. I liked them, and I managed to cut down to 1/2 pack a day, from what had been a pack and 1/2 a day for 40 years.

In November of 2013, I got some flu bug or something and didn't have a cigarette for 3 days. When I tried 1 on the 4th day...I thought I was going to hock up a lung! I dug out the JoyeTech kit, and decided that day that I would start transitioning from smokes to vaping. Each week I'd allow myself one less cigarette per day, and supplement them with vaping, until I finally got down to 1 per day in January. Finally on January 14th, 2014 I had my last cigarette. Have never even had the urge for one, and know I never will. It's funny, but I can be around people who are smoking, or see other people out and about smoking, and I still don't want one. It just doesn't even cross my mind. It's like I never WAS a smoker.

When I was smoking, seeing someone smoking made me want one.
Now, it just makes me feel sorry for them.

And I say that even though I would have a smoke if I felt like it.
But I just don't feel like it anymore.

DC2 - How true that is! It's like I now have some wonderful secret that finally got me off cigarettes after 40+ years. It makes me want to go up to people I see smoking and let them in on the "secret", to tell them my own experience with switching, etc. Strangely enough, most of the people I've helped to switch have been longtime friends who swore I'd be THE LAST person to ever give up smoking. When they saw vaping worked for me...they were convinced to give it a shot, too. Now they're as smug as I am knowing they are doing it themselves or have already succeeded!

I'm glad that I don't see these types of threads often, because after a year of vaping, I'm still struggling, in spite of my desire to lay down the analogs for good. I have been smoking for 40 years, and for me,it's been a hella hard habit to get rid of. I used to smoke two packs a day.
Your experience is not unusual. Don't stop vaping. Some lucky folks stop smoking the day they start vaping. It took me 6 weeks. It took my brother 9 months. An interesting coincidence though. My last day of smoking was the day I heard someone had died and there would be several says of paying close attention to that. My brother stopped smoking when he spent a weekend visiting with people because of a memorial service. Hmmm...I guess there are moments in life that are ripe for change.

One month. It took me a month to finally trust that the ecig will take care of that nic urge. I no longer have the craving but sometimes I am curious about smoking. Not gonna lie. I just fear that I would NOT be like @DC2 but instead would go back to smoking full time, eventually. That's the way it always was before...you know...those times when you quit smoking for a few weeks/months then just have one. Before ya know it...back to a pack a day in no time at all.

Fear keeps me from trying just one.

I have three years without now. :D

I hate to admit that I still smoke analogs too, just not as many. I got a cigalike a few years ago for when I couldn't smoke. I really liked it and went from a pack a day to only 2 or 3. It died and I returned to strictly analogs. Off and on I've used disposables, but during the summer I decided to buy a small mod hoping to get off analogs completely.

Smoked for 36 years, 2 PAD for the last 15 or so. Got my first kit 23 months ago. It took me 4 days to switch completely. About 3 months later I tried a traditional cigarette. I put it out about 3/4 through and knowing for sure I was done. Funny thing is, if I'm outside with someone who's smoking, the SHS usually smells good to me and I find it somewhat tempting, but I know I'd regret partaking of it first-hand, so I don't.

I have been vaping for almost 2 years without smoking any cigarettes at all.

About 2 months ago I was in a bar here in the Philippines and a got a Marlboro red from a friend I was with just to see if I would still like it .... Well, after about 3 or 4 hits off that Marlboro, I wasn't impressed at all ... Snuffed it out.

That just convinced me that these ecigs are much better overall. If I could, I would dump the ecigs too, but I am hopelessly addicted to nicotine.

The big plus for me is that since I have quit cigarettes, I don't cough my lungs out every morning, and I don't get short-winded doing heavy work or climbing steps anymore. I am no doctor, but this tells me that ecigs certainly are much better for me healthwise than those nasty Marlboro reds I used to smoke.

After smoking 2-packs of cigarettes per day for more than 40 years, I can't believe I am not dead already!

I started off in the spring of 2013 with White Cloud disposables,
and telling myself that every THURSDAY I would just vape, no analogs.
The rest of the week I could smoke. Well then I changed it to every
Thursday AND Tuesday. One Friday I was in the shower thinking that
espresso disposable would taste so good, but bummer it wasn't
Thursday or Tuesday, LOL. I progressed from there however every
so often, months apart usually, the brain would take over and convince
me I should have a cigarette. One cigarette and it tasted nasty. The
last time I lit a cigarette up, I don't remember when, maybe last spring
or something - I could only get about 3 puffs out of it before putting
it out but the smell on my fingers was nauseating. I had to wash my
hands over and over with soap to try to get that smell off. So haven't
tried one since.
Doesn't bother me a bit to walk in a room with smokers. I just vape away...
