Do you still occasionally smoke analogs? Or have you switched entirely to e-cigarettes?

Copied and edited from one of my previous post since this question comes up often..:thumb:

Started with a ego t Feb 2012 but that didn't work out. Purchased a Mvp1 in June 2013 and I did cut back drastically as a dual user. I used to smoke 1 1/2 packs a day. Took a year to get down to 10 cigs a day. Around June 2015 I noticed on the weekends, when not working I was only smoking 1-2 a day. Well I woke up one Sunday morning in Sept and didn't have anymore smokes. Decided to see how long I could last. I am proud to say I have lasted.

There are many variables to my personal addiction. I was a diehard Marlboro menthol (full flavor) smoker for over 10 years. When i started dual using they were making me sick so i switched to camel menthol silvers (lights.) I personally think this was caused by the different alkaloids or other additives in Marlboro.

I thought about purchasing some WTA to fight the current cravings but figure if I have gotten over this hump I don't want to backstep.

Just wanted to share my personal addiction timeline for those who don't jump right in and immediately quit the nasties. Everyone is different.

I made the switch easily the day I started vaping, but have had a few cigarettes over the years, probably two packs worth. I haven't had any in a few months, but might have an occasional one in the future. I always enjoy the first one, but the taste and smell seem pretty foul after that. It reminds me how much more I enjoy vaping.
Basically this, from 2+ PAD/25+ years. I don't doubt that I will have another ciggie at some future date, but not anytime soon.

Some people quit smoking analogs right away once they start vaping ecigs. Others use ecigs to cut down on and compliment analogs but never quit analogs for good. Where do you fall? Do you still smoke analogs sometimes? If you quit analogs for good, did it take a while to transition only to ecigs?

I quit within a week realistically; within a month, technically, because I did try a few cigs over that period.

I think it's unlikely I'd some a paper cig again, but I might try a cigar for like Christmas or birthday sometime.

and I am over 50; I think you will find older smokers can quit faster

I have been vaping for just a few months shy of 4 years, and believe it or not, it took me 2 and a half years to switch over completely. The reason I was a duel user for so long was that when I started vaping, it wasn't to replace smoking completely, just a crutch for when I couldn't smoke (at work, in the house and car, etc).

After being a duel user for so long, my wife, who was also a smoker, started becoming more and more interested in vaping. About 18 months ago she tried vaping, and loved it. Since she wanted to switch over completely at that time, I figured I would as well.

At that point it took us both about two weeks to completely make the switch, and now neither of us has had a cigarette in a year and a half.

I'm glad that I don't see these types of threads often, because after a year of vaping, I'm still struggling, in spite of my desire to lay down the analogs for good. I have been smoking for 40 years, and for me,it's been a hella hard habit to get rid of. I used to smoke two packs a day.

Now, on good days, it's less than half a pack. On bad days it can get up to a pack. I know everybody is different, but I envy those who pick up vaping and never pick up another cigarette. It's just been a HUGE struggle for me, but I'm hanging in there.

I don't know why, but i tend to smoke 1 cigarette in the morning. It's not that i need it there is no real craving or something. But for some reason... i just light it up. I should stop that, for me there is no reason to light one up again..

I only have cigarettes in the house because i like to smoke an occasional {Other stuff}.

I stopped smoking after about two weeks of vaping and slowly cutting down on cigarettes until I didn't want them anymore, but even now (it's been almost 3 years) I still have one, or take a puff from someone's, every now and then. I think I've smoked almost half a pack since I officially quit, mostly during really stressful times, when vaping wasn't working for me.

It took me 8 months to finally quit, was a dual user after smoking 40 years. Went from cheap cigalite to ego, vivi nova, nautilus, to RTA's ect. Gradually cut down on cigs along the way till I found a juice and a setup that I really liked!

Hang in there Roto.. don't give up! Have u looked into WTA's? Supposed to help with cravings.

I intentionally dual use, and smoke a pack every 3 to 5 weeks.

I quit cold turkey before (for 8 years), and now enjoy the whole moderate smoker thing. Really enjoy the idea of not needing a smoke, not having cravings. A great smoke doesn't taste as good to be as a great vape, but I do enjoy the taste of a great smoke.

My last smoke was around 5 days ago, maybe longer.

I went both ways until I found subohm.

Never smoked again after that day and won't as long as I got a subohm nearby.

It took about 4 months to get off completely. I found a juice online that I liked...then I accidentally ripped the guts out of the ego I was using and ended up with a Vamo and an iClear30. I found that much more satisfying personally and put the cigs down. One year ago today!!!:rickroll:

You know that Vamo died a few months back...but I can't bring myself to throw it away. Still sits in the desk drawer.

On top of the desk are 6 regulated mods...4 mechs...and some 14 tanks...all rebuildables.
