$194 Janty juice + gear
$50 Janty Juice
$30 Ebay DSE 901
$60 Ebay Intellicig EVO/402

So about $350? Im sure if I kept believing the hype and buying gear I'd be way up there at $1000+

Spent about $100 into research on building my own reliable working gear and never again will I be giving my money to suppliers with bad service and cheap, unreliable, poorly made products. If my next order comes in and any of it is faulty within an unreasonable timeframe I'm just going to return it for a full refund. It'll put be back at 150 spent, which is not bad for a lesson learned. At least for me it's not bad... I've learned a valuable lesson.

But on the brighter side, with some ingenuity and crafting skills one can make an Ecig of far superior quality for much less. Unfortunately I am a nicotine fiend and need to source juices. Aside from juice cost here are the new prices:

USB pass thru - $0
2 rechargable batteries - $4
Atomizer parts to build a years worth - $5
Maglite solitair - $9
Knowing what to do with it - $Priceless

280 euro from 27 December. With analogs I was at 75 euro per month.

That means I would had spend 150 euro until now, so the money I really have spend are 280-150=130 euro.

But they are the first payments. I think that in deep time most of us (if we dont buy like crazy) will have a little profit. But for me, the best thing is my breath smells nice and my durability is up. I had forgot how strong I was in the past but best things are coming.

Started vaping around the 1st of the month. So far about 90 bucks on Puresmoker classic penstyle extra charger extra carts and a 15ml bottle of Clove Juice. 30 more on a 30ml of Rickee (with shipping) and another 35 (with shipping) for a USB passthrough and extra atomizer.
So far that's about $155 or so to get started. So I'm about even wtih my smoking costs atm. However at this point I'm set with juice for at least 2 weeks probably closer to a month but I'm planning on getting some more clove juice after payday if Cash has more in stock. So baring parts failures I should start seeing some savings.

I'm perfectly happy with the penstyle and don't feel compelled to buy a bunch of different devices so I don't expect to have much additional costs beyond the occasional bottle of juice and an extra atomizer every month or two. Then again I smoked American Spirits which is a pricy brand and tended to not buy by the carton so I was spending a lot on smokes.

2 - 901 starter kits from LitecigUSA & 1 extra set of carts = $85
1 - 30ml bottle of CaSH Cola = $25
Spikey's stockpile of juices = $22
1 portable hard drive case from Target (modded into cig & juice case) = $8

Grand Total of $140.

Not doing too bad, but I'm really wanting to pick up a few Pilots or 401s and a few more 30ml bottles of juice.

I might try and wait 'til next month to buy anything new. I'm getting married in May, so money is a LITTLE tight, but, it might not be a bad idea to get some of my purchasing out of the way before then. My new bride might not share my enthusiasm for all things e-cig. lol

Since Dec 3rd 2008 my total spent thus far is.....$652.06

...but about $160 of that was wasted, part of the learning curve i guess!

-first device from Ecig.com was crap only lasted about 3 weeks $140 down th drain.
-then about $20 on some yucky juice flavors.

All in all I'd say not too bad. I'm good to go with juice for the next 4 months.
Prolly a bit more than what I would have spent on analogs, but thats only because of the learning curve I had to go through. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't change a thing!

I made my 1st purchase on 8 Jan and by co-incidence I checked my credit card bills last night. I've spent about £800.... That's on:

  • 2 x Evo kits
  • 2 x 901 kits
  • 2 x Penstyle kits
  • 3 x USB passthroughs
  • Tons of atomisers for each (as I have several on the go for various nic and flavour types so's they don't get too mixed up)
  • Enough batteries to have at least one spare one for charging whilst one is use.
  • Masses of carts before I learnt about liquids...
  • Having discovered liquids, I then bought about every liquid there is in varying strengths  except for tobacco flavours which I don't like.
I've figured that that lot should keep me going several months. The only things I've had die on me so far are 2 EVO batteries, but then they were faulty and so far one was replaced. My atomisers and batteries might be lasting well as I'm alternating between quite a few batteries and atomisers - I have at least two batteries in each room, one for 0 nic and one for nic, and various atomisers for different flavour types and strengths, so's I don't have to remember to keep carrying them around with me.

I used to spend about £90 a week on analogues (average 50 a day). Over 8 weeks that would've been £720 - which is not a lot less than what I've spent on e-cigs. I'm still smoking analogues as I haven't yet managed to come off them totally, but it's down to about 7-12 a day. But, whereas what I've spent on e-cigs is a huge amount, what I've bought for e-cigs should last me a few months at least, certainly in liquids at any rate which I figure could last me all year as I have so much .

I think, when we start out, that many of us might spend a fortune on the initial outlay of all the bits and pieces we need or want (and more, like me) but it then slows down (hopefully!). As I see it, my enormous outlay will work out much cheaper than analogues in the long run :D

So I don't think one can be too shocked at saying "I've spent £X on e-cigs in X weeks and it's cost me the same or more than analogues during those X weeks", as the stuff for e-cigs could - depending on usage - work out a fair bit cheaper over the following weeks or months. Analogues are immediately disposable, but e-cig parts aren't and should last a few weeks if not months.

Difficult to figure out the long-term cost for newbies like me?
