How to combat Vaper's Tongue

Vaper's Tongue is that unfortunate state wherein a vaper can no longer taste the juice he/she is vaping.

Sometimes I can alleviate it a bit by switching flavors but nothing is like that first vape in the morning. I _do_ vape pretty constantly all day so maybe that's my issue to begin with.

I was just wondering if anyone has come up with or discovered any type of beverage, food, or technique that gets ride of vaper's tongue?

Thanks for reading. Looking forward to your replies.

Thanks,
Tim

Hi! Since you are familiar with the term, I assume you have read this, but just in case you haven't, it has tips: Taste Buds and Vapers Tongue

Drinking lots of water helps. For some reason, I've found that Coca-Cola (the real kind) sometimes helps me taste a couple of flavors better. I have no idea why that is, except perhaps for the "bite."

I have the same problem. I can't vape just one flavor a day, because before I know it, my taste buds are burnt out on it. Any advice in this department is GREATLY appreciated.

I always have a "palate cleanser" juice in hand, usually loaded in a tiny stealthy device. Say you are all-daying a certain tobacco juice, one or two hit of fresh strawberry helps tremendously. As long as they are radically different.

Drink water as you vape. Dehydration does affect the responsiveness of your tastebuds.

It probably has more to do with the carbonation than anything else, or at least that would be my guess. I know that chili heads and curry freaks recommend carbonated beverages like beer or soda pop to cool the tongue and throat after eating hot peppers, too. If the bubbles help remove the excess pepper oils from the tongue they probably also do that for other things.

F the OP's I, i read somewhere that wine-tasters recommend nibbling on a bit of bread between wine samples as a way to cleanse their palates so they can still taste each individual wine. Sounds like that's what's mainly needed: a palate-cleanser of some sort. Don't know if coffee-tasters do that too, but I suspect so.

Awesome. Thanks for all the advice, everyone. I'll be sure to try out all the methods. I carry around one of those straw-to-bottom water bottles with me all day and I've upped my intake since I started vaping since I read that it can dehydrate you faster than normal. I guess I'll up the intake even more! Can't hurt, right?

Saltines and ginger (comes served with Sushi usually) are two classic palette cleansers I know of. I could see carbonation helping for sure, so maybe club soda?

For me though, in regards to peppers, carbonation has never helped. Milk is the only thing that has.

Hi Tim,

I haven't read the other responses but I had vapor tongue for ten days about two months ago ( I didn't know any better and vaped a single juice exclusively for a month) only suggestions I have is lots of water and good oral hygiene ( make sure you brush your tongue) and just give it some time. Some suggest using strong flavors like cinnamon or menthol but that didn't work for me. Gl:vapor:

You didn't mention what your vaping. Is it pg?
Have you tried to go the vg route? I do 100 vg sometime cut with a little water if its too thick depending on juice and device. I have yet to encounter vape tounge or dehydration. Even 50% pg dehydrates me, - not to my liking.

and Suzy's advice.

Hiya Tim...misery loves company...I've had a few bouts myself and have only been vaping since the end of January...I had it up until ten minutes ago, and after reading a few new suggestions I'd not heard of before, I got up and took a drink of lemon-lime soda...VOILA! I can taste all of my favors now! Brushing teeth and tongue, using tongue scraper does not work for me; water does not work for me; I do not vape one flavor all day, I change it up with at least three different favors throughout the day, and I have had what I call zombie tongue about twice a month, it seems. It is very frustrating when it happens...I just hope the soda fix wasn't a fluke! Crazy, man!
