From what I've tried so far, assuming you start with a good tasting ejuice, which is probably not the Chinese 100% PG stuff. The US mixers make more interesting and complex flavors.
IMO Order of flavor experience, from best down
dripping - downside is trying to switch flavors! Sorta hard to get the last taste out
cartos (i.e cartomizers, the combined atty+cart of a 2-piece model)
carts (i.e. cartridges, the non-electronic juice cartridge that attached to the atty of a 3-piece model)
With carts I actually think there is a wide range of flavor quality. You need a good-wicking cart/atty combo and a PV that atomizes well but doesn't burn the crap out of the juice. Like I think 510 atty seems to be not as good at preserving flavor vs DSE901 atty
Also important - CLEANING. If you keep using the same atty, the same carto, the same cart without cleaning, it will start to taste bad. I swap to a clean atty every weekend (and start soaking the used one in alcohol) and heavy vapers may swap more often. Cartos have limited reuses - I've heard maybe 6-7 refills though sometime they can be renovated for more through thorough cleaning? Carts - I switch mine to blue foam filling so it's easier to clean old carts and filling or make new filling.
I was dripping for the first time yesterday - KR808D-1 battery w/ fresh cleaned & dry DSE901 atty and drip tip. I swear even flavorless PG tasted good. But dripping is somewhat inconvenient. It's OK if you are sitting around at home, not even really doable if you are driving a vehicle and might even be hard riding in a vehicle. Some people really like the convenience of cartos. I didn't care for the one kind I tried though it did have a lot of vapor. The draw seemed loose and hot to me but I still have to try Boge cartos. So far I prefer the drag of a cartridge + atty but I have time to screw with it frequently during the day at my desk or at home. There are fans of all three methods. I use a mini and super-mini cart+atty PV every day, but I also have a carto PV I bought to try (KR808D-1) and a DSE901 atty for it w/ drip tip. I felt I have to try them all to find what I like.
