Well, I am a fan of Game of Thrones, if you read the books or follow the show this will be easier to understand. I liked the Stark family when reading the first book, but eventually came to identify more with the Lannister family than the Stark family. Partly due to the Lannister's ruthless nature, partly due to the house Sigil of the Lion. While the Starks are tough and honorable, they are rigid and at times quite foolish politically. Still, I was mortified when Eddard Stark (who is the Lord of the Starks when the story begins) lost his head. Even though I am more Lannister than Stark, I still respect old Eddard aka Ned Stark. So the name is a tribute to him, and an acknowledgment of his death (in Winter) at the hands of the Lannisters.

It is also a tribute to my favorite movie of all times, The Lion in Winter by James Goldman.

I occasionally throw in my $0.02 on a few religious or apologetic forums, hence the name. But here, since I'm still weening myself off 45 years of a 2+ pack a day habit, I threw my lighters away so it'd be easier and more convienant to vape. So yup, I'm constantly seeking a light! Doing a photoshop today for my profile pic - lighting the tip of an ego battery, LOL.

I also continued to use my nickname from XBox Live, and have used it in all the forums that I have been a part of. I used to play in online football leagues, and I wanted a tough sounding username. I had seen a billboard advertisement for some hot-looking car that said only "BADITUDE" and I liked that.

I chose my avatar because I liked the representation of cigarettes in a gun and why the choice to smoke is like suicide.

Back in the early years on internet forums and such I was riding a '79 BMW R100S. BMW bikes are called Beemers. (The cars are Bimmers, durn it!)Back then a lot of places had limits on name length. My name is David, and to make it fit on one of those early forums I made it "bmrdave". Used it for tons of stuff since.

Yes and yes, thanks! They are my fave band :)

I do like REM, too. I saw them in 1986 at William and Mary Hall in Williamsburg, Va. before they made it big. The crowd was like 5,500 people, believe it or not.

My favorite music reference to it is by Blink 182. From the song "Even if she falls". Now it is a multi-layered reference to be sure, just like everything else in the song. A great tune. Here is the snippet:

And she was, like a starry night,
Like a ferris wheel, full of blue-green eyes.
And a heart of steel, always on her own
Almost never real.

When I was 20, I got a job in an enormous factory on a production line. Part of my job involved resupplying the materials I assembled, and rather than weave my way around conveyors and boxes of parts to get them, I would simply take a straight path and jump over anything in my way. My line leader said I reminded him of Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, the high flying pro wrestler from the 80s. From that day he called me Superfly, and soon everyone else did as well. I worked with some people for several years who never knew my first name. To this day, 20 years later, I still run into people who address me as Superfly.

I've been working with glass for many years, some people tell me I have a good eye, plus I like the play on words. Plus plus I go through periods of putting eyes on everything and it either creeps people or they like it. I do get a giggle when people are creeped. lol
The avatar is me, I was having a good hair day. Kind of rare with the humidity in this place.

Mine was given to me by several armorers that I had working for me when on active duty. I was the supply sgt for a Headquarters unit and since we had more people that required, I had 3 armorers, all female. Since we just started being allowed to have females in a combat unit, I was protective of "my girls". They worked their butts off for me. I remember a few weeks where we had no time off and I was constantly telling them to go eat, or would say "Time to go to bed girls!" .. they started replying "Yes Daddy!". It soon mutated and they were telling soldiers they were sent out after to "Report to Supply Daddy". just stuck! :D
