Have really had my hands full lately with parents and stuff here... guess part of that is what summer is all about and now time to start thinking about prepping for winter... need to get both wood and coal in before the snow flies. Been dealing with a bear all summer. Just a little BooBoo Bear, maybe 100 lbs or so but not afraid of people and seems to think that tearing up my bird feeders and coming onto my porch are alright. I bring the feeders in before dark and don't fill them so much as to give the birds a chance to knock a lot on the ground but he still visits a couple times a week. You shoot in his direction and he sits down to see what is going on. You chase him and he stays just out of reach and when you stop chasing, he stops and returns to what he was doing... All the time I lived in Alaska, never really got a good look at a black bear as they saw you and we off like a shot, the Brownies didn't care but you really didn't see them much either.. smelled them first generally and always worked on avoiding them. I just want this one to act like a bear and I wish people would stop feeding them. Yes he is cute but a fed bear is a dead bear.
