Word is that Sam's kids are slowly bankrupting the empire. But our Walmarts are usually fairly well stocked.
I only want a gallon of milk and a couple cartons OJ.
There is something bizarre about not being able to buy orange juice in Florida.
I heard this was going to mess up this crop.

I don't doubt that but the juice in the stores, from Valencia oranges would be part of this season/ year's already harvested crop. I suppose there won't be any Navel oranges.
We should be getting oranges from Chile soon but that isn't soon enough for me.

It looks like José is going North and possibly swallow itself but Storm Depression 14 may be coming

Makes me think of the 3rd verse of the song 'They Call Me Mellow Yellow' by Donovan (24, October 1966):

I'm just mad about Fourteen
Fourteen's mad about me
I'm just mad about Fourteen
She's just mad about me

I just paid my electric bill, this is what FPL says on their website:
FPL crews are restoring power safely and as quickly as possible. We estimate we will have restored power to essentially all of our customers along the east coast service territory by end of day, Sept. 17, and for customers along the west coast service territory by end of day, Sept. 22, with the possible exception of areas impacted by tornadoes, severe flooding and other pockets of severe damage.

In this small town we have a Wal Mart and a local grocer that is worse (I mean green meat worse). We head to the city for Sams to stock up. Mind you that is about a 75 mile drive one way so we tend to do it every 3 months or so.

I know what you go through our place in Avon we now have a grocery store, but still if Hwy 12 gets flooded or washed out or just bridge maintenance there's no way off the island except by ferry which is at least 3hr ride to the main land and could be a 3 to 10 day backup for an appointment to board during repairs to the road. We stay stocked up, you tend to over plan, and it's always neighbor helping neighbor.

Just think about the amount of produce that comes out of Fl and goes all over the world. Everyone in the US will feel Irma one way or the other.
Sad, but true. :(

    :( Hopefully they'll survive.
His were all over 30 years old too.

Collier Country Sheriff, on FB has a lot of drone/fly over videos listed.
FL has lost A LOT of trees. :(
    Big, old trees.

Just one more post for our toilet discussion yesterday. I couldn't resist sharing this with you

Back in the 90's when I was a news reader at a radio station I had to read a story about a million dollar space toilet NASA had acquired for their astronuts...
Every time I woodsheded the story I broke out laughing hysterically..but I thought I could read it on air w/o breaking down.
Well, I was able to read all the stories but when it came to the space toilet story I had to hold in the laughter so bad that when I finally finished I passed out in the sound booth from hyperventilation.

By 2007 the cost of pooping in space went up to $19 million.

I miscounted (trying to make myself think I'm younger) the tree is 46 years old.
This house will be for sale soon so this will be the last time I eat from that tree.. :(
I'm saving the seeds to plant at my next home (if I stay in FL)but as long as the little trees take to mature ...
