Irma folks..... Help is on the way! I'm sitting in the FEMA staging area at Robertson AFB in Schertz, TX awaiting my trailer full of relief supplies for me to take to another AFB in Selma, AL. where I assume the military will take over for final delivery.

A gazillion trucks and drivers here chomping at the bit to get the needed relief moving your way! Hang tight!

I am so relieved to see that everyone is reporting in and fine !
My power came back on about 30 minutes ago !
I was freaking at hearing it would be 7 - 10 days !!!
I think we may be on the same grid as the fire station tho...so that probably helped !
You could hear all the neighborhood cheering !

Ohmygosh it got intense last night ! Wowzer it did !
No power so no tv to drown it out...ugh !
No damage for us.
Three houses down had an oak tree go over and I can see several homes with screen sections missing from pool cages.
We got dang lucky.

I am thankful we are all still here
Excellent, Classy! Really glad you didn't have any damage! Now about tjat snake....[emoji16]

FPL is reporting 5 million customers without power -- the most ever for any storm. It's gonna be a while until they're all back on-line.
TX still has rural areas with spotty power. Good news is that eberything gets upgraded as repaired.

My top two recommended battery packs are

Mugenter 10,000 mah
Poweradd 20,000 mah

Other good ones

Kmashi 10,000 mah
Kmashi 11,200 mah
Kmashi 20,000 mah
Nationite 10,400 mah

If i was forced to recommend just one it would be the Poweradd 20,000 i have four of them.

Here is two i recommend. People avoid.

Tohlo 20,000 mah i had two of them and both had issues.

#1 only held 8,700 mah
#2 held 18,000+ mah but one of the charging ports was DOA.

The other is the Imuto 20,000 mah. This one has two problems

#1. The power button is only 4x10 mm and flush with surrounding area so pressing the button with average fingers is nigh impossible.

#2 when it arrived it was 99% full but didnt have much over 15,000 mah. So charged it again and running the test again.

I read my kindle books on an old iphone 4S. The iPhone only holds 1,436 mah so far i have charged my iPhone 3 times. That is only 4,308 mah, and according to the power meter 35% of the power has gone.

After i complete the second test i may change my mind but so far i cant recommend it.
Thank you! Amazon, here I come#

@HazyShades is in Florida as well, although he doesn't post much these days, he's still around, and living in Florida. We should add him as he is an active member still.

I have all the above in my prayer list..

Thank you, Opi.
Yup, I'm still around ...
Thank you, K.

Irma sideswiped us with her skirt as she danced past us in Miami.
We were Blessed to only have to pick up a mess of downed trees and deal w/o electric power
for a couple of days.
No AC in Miama while the windows are shuttered is no phun.

Since I have no clue where ECF keeps the negative review section anymore
I'll skip my comments regarding FPL customer disservice or the fact that MetroPCS
has no emergency generators on their cell towers... (equals no service) So if one has VOIP and no electric
they expect one to dial 911 via smoke signals..

Thanks again to everybody who remembered to include me in their prayers,
especially my good bud @Opinionated :)

If Amazon - Belkin and Anker are the top sellers. After trying others, it is all I will buy now. Amazon Basics were very poor. The others all try to look like B or A, lol.
Thanks!

So I just got back to the house that has no power :0( from driving around half of Lakeland. Probably going to be a week or so without power. It sucks, plus tomorrow I have to go back to work ::thumbs down::

It seems as if the northside drew the short straw on this storm. Northside of Lakeland (country and country boys everywhere. The side of town I was born and raised) has trees down. Looks like we may have a tornado or 2 come through. Of course the strongest part of the eye came right over this side of town. Good thing the boys out here have trucks, tractors, chain saws and a get 'er done attitude. Places are flooded and there are trees laying on roofs and across the roads. Wooden power poles snapped like toothpicks. Here is a pic of a few of the poles.

Drove straight through the middle of town and the southside barely got touched. No power on the northside but the southside (rich side of town) has power, fast food places open with lines out the wazoo.

Needless to say we got hit hard along with other places in central Florida over to the west coast. I heard that this storm is a hurricane that will go down in the record books and they are retiring the name Irma from the list of hurricane names for the future.

Wow! It's been a long time since I've been seen poles snapped like that. Please be careful out driving around. Carjacking may increase. A guy here in our little town got held up for his last 50.00.

McDonalds was the first place to open down here after Ike and Harvey.

(my husband says vaping is killing my memory,,,,,,,i didn't figure it out until after lunch today that ike anniversary isn't until the 13th..............time to up the nic :)
Whatburger stayed open 24/7 thru the whole thing. 1st responders & known helpers got fed for free. They were filling thermoses with coffee & were a huge boost in keeping everyone moving. Every place with gass stayed open to keep trucks, atvs, generators, j boats moving. They kept going until they ran out or lost power.

I'm glad your okay! Very very happy to hear the good news..

On the phone situation, heard some providers are offering free service to non customers in Florida.. not sure of the details but if your needing phone maybe someone can tell you who all is offering service to non customers.. someone is but unfortunately I can't remember who...

:) God Bless you.

Don't expect your order anytime soon.

They may have damage to their facilities, power outages, if neither of those then the roads may be impassable and of course the gas stations have no gas so whether it's a problem with the e liquid company or a problem with USPS don't count on seeing your stuff before two or three weeks... any sooner count yourself lucky, longer is probably just par for the course.
