Like this. I wrap the coil clockwise and slap it in legs down

Wow !!! What a beautiful coil ...perfectly positioned. What wire you used? I just ordered second Project X plus second extension... plus...Authentic Vandy vape SS316L Superfine MTL Fused Clapton :)

Best bit of advice I can give - once you have the deck built and ready to go - VG the hell out of that bottom o-ring on the deck.

Also VG the hell out of the two o-rings on the fill port
Qorax uses chapstick (presumably unflavored) on his kayfun o-rings. FWIW, I tried it and it works quite well! I apply with a q-tip.

@ChelsB Here is SMT's rewicking - he's using rayon, but hasn't thinned it

@johnpalley , I decided to rewick one of my Project X's earlier today. Maybe these photo's will help.

This is the same deck and clapton coil I posted a photo of earlier that had a cotton wick.

Here you can see how much I trimmed at the edges of the deck. I left 2mm overhang on each side of the deck (I measured). I did not trim any off the sides or top of the wick before tucking into the juice wells. Nor did I comb it. Finger fluffed it some.

    Tucked into the juice wells.

Same as above from the side.

Juiced up. Then I put the tank together and vaped.

The only difference is I used rayon this time versus cotton. The method is basically the same. The Project X works great with either cotton or rayon. The only difference with rayon is I don't trim any off the sides or top of the wick. Once a rayon wick is saturated with juice it will contract/collapse some versus cotton which will expand. In my experience with rayon if you trim additional from the sides or the tops of the wick is where juice can, and will, begin to pool in the juice wells and eventually flood the X.

I've been vaping on this wick for several hours and I don't have any flooding or dry hits. I was vaping at 30w in wattage mode for a bit and then switched over to TC at 20w and 440f. It's vaping great with excellent flavor.

    I hope this helps.
    Cheers :)

Great info! I won't be combing anymore just fluffing. Do you find it easy at all to choke the wick when its too tight in the coil using the cotton bacon prime? Im just trying to figure out if this could of been a possible issue I was having in the past.

Yes I sometimes have had it too tight that it is choking the coil. I usually twist it in, pull it through then untwist it and give it the wiggle/pull test. If I can pull it out easily, too lose. If it won't budge, too tight. It's in that middle ground that is perfect.

Good advice... but after I changed o-ring on bottom of deck I do not need any VG treatment... in fact right now it is a little too loose... I have to try the same on cap...I wish those spare rings were a tiny bit thicker but tiny thiner that those original on atty. I will have to try o-rings from different tanks maybe some will be "between":D

I would put the Coiling Rod back in the coil & using your nails try to pull the coil apart using your nails to space them it will make your coil longer & evenly spaced then you can adjust the coil with your Coiling Rod to center the coil. Or,

Wind another coil & while the coil is still on the rod using your nails on either end of the coil gently pull on both ends of the coil to space them then use the other part of the rod to gently push the coil together again then you’ll have nicely spaced coils.

Do you have a link to the correct extension part? I wasn’t sure which to buy on FT. I go through 2 mls pretty quickly so I could definitely use an extension!
