Did you try out the 2mm pin that is included with the rba? You should try that as well to see which one suits you the best. There is a big difference between a 2.5 and 1.3 air hole.

I tried to install the smaller included 2 mm pin, and while doing that, I lost the positive post insulator, so I can't use my Hussar at all until my new Hussar and the new base and build deck arrive from FT probably week after next. The smaller, 1.3 mm airflow pins should come in this week and next week. (I've got two packages coming.) This protracted wait is killing me!!

Ooh, I fell in love with this for the looks, but it sounds like it might be a great fit for me!

I might be asking for information that's already been stated, but I didn't make it through all the pages... So the Coppervape clone is single coil and the SHMY one is dual? Are both of them good?

Also, without the restrictors/with the largest one, just how open is it? I'm looking for a restricted MTL, but not too restricted, if that makes any sense.

The largest air hole is the same as the original Merlin with its blocker in place. Also the same as a Kayfun Monster clone from FT. It is hard to define airflow unless we have some common ground to compare it to. I consider myself an airy MTLer and the largest air hole on the Hussar is perfect for me with the AFC about 1/4 open so lots of additional air available.

EDIT: I think with the 2 smaller air holes available, you should be able to find something that fits your style.

Been a while since I used a Merlin. Got rid of the ones that I had. They did have really good flavor. I liked the Hussar right off the bat so I would have to say it is on par with the Merlin. My current favorites are the Siren and the Nebula Wine. I think the Hussar will be the third in that group.

I've heard wonderful things about the Nebula Wine. Are you ranking the Siren, Nebula Wine and Hussar in that order?

I think that I would go Nebula Wine, Siren then Hussar. I have been using the Wine for over a year now and have 6 of them. It has consistently been my favorite since I figured out how to reduce its airflow to something that I like. In its normal state, it is way too wide open for me. It is another one that disappeared like the Siren even though it had a good following.

Thanks Ian. Do you use the PT grommets to reduce airflow on the Nebula Wine, or is it more involved?

Just the PT grommets!!

That's an incredible piece of vape gear, those PT grommets! Lefty & Sparky uses those grommets to plug up the juice fill hole on the Nectar clone. She loves them. I'm going to get some soon! It sounds like they can work on all sorts of things!

I kept coming back to this thread and couldn't take it anymore, the chatter was just two positive. I picked up the Coppervape Hussar from FT on the second and here is the insane thing, I got it today. They even threw in a second spare PC tank

She's getting a bath and I'm hoping I get the great flavor you have all been raving about since I have mostly been married to my Merlin and Tengu.

The Coppervape is a well put together RTA. The threading on it was perfect, silky smooth and the deck is an easy build.

Flavor is as promised but the JFC is a bit of a PITA.

Hey marc, I hear ya on the JFC for sure. When I first got mine, and it being my FIRST with a JFC, I inadvertently dumped my first tank full, then the next ½ tank, after that I got it right. The trick is to not get the top cap screwed down onto the tank too tightly, for me anyways, and, I had to learn how to handle the Hussar a bit differently, as in picking it up or putting it into my carpenters pants leg pockets when on my HΩ Slice.

Just got mine in yesterday from my 2F purchase.

For a good amount of change (aournd $30+ with all parts) my only complaints on the quality are the o-rings. They are cheap and flimsy, like the old joke though their are plenty of them LOL, IOW comes with good amount of spares. But I'll be replacing with better quality.

Love the 510 adjustable so can put on a hybrid if like. The airhole was easy to put in the 1.3. Looks killer IMO.

The build and wick was about as simple as can be (I went 28 g kanthal, spaced, coming out to 1.2 ish).

Still haven't figured out the dang JFC, gonna have to play around with it once I'm done with this tank, because I'm still not sure I'm doing it right. Hoping not to dump a tank LOL.

All in all not a bad rig, but a bit more faff that I would prefer, for instance compare to the SXK DoggyStyle, which is zero faff but doesn't have as many moving parts.

But these are initial thoughts and may grow to really love it after fiddling about.
