O.K. I have not bought any batteries from their either. They will offer batteries out of laptop power supplies it seems, but they do tell you of that. I just go to fastech to look at things, as they have a wide selection. Just for curiosities sake, I would be interested in seeing the batteries you would pick out if you were to purchase that mod.

My last go around picking out batteries for the VTR didn't go so well, they were too fat to fit. So I skinned em lol. That worked, but then when I put them into a mech mod they shorted out... Wish all batteries were the same size!

OMG. ^^ *Never* remove the protective wrap it WILL short. YIKES. Thats scary!!! Im guessing it was a quiet failure at least.
What batteries did you purchase that required this? I am guessing *not* an AW IMR 18650.. for recommended safe batteries that will fit - AW IMR or this list from http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-9-battery-basics-mods-imr-protected-icr.html

High Quality, Brand Name Batteries. Batteries are not created equal. Mod battery experts recommend the following brand name IMR and hybrid batteries:

AW IMR
18650 2000mah 10Amp CDR
18650 1600mah 24A
18490 (1100mah) 16.5A
18350 (700mah) 6A

MNKE IMR
18650 1500mah 20A

Panasonic or Orbtronic hybrid
CGR18650CH (IMR/hybrid) 2250mAh 10A
NCR18650PF (LiNiCOMnO2) INR/ICR/IMR Hybrid 2900mAh 10A
NCR18650PD (LiNiCoAl) 2900mAh 10A
Orbtronic 18650 SX22 (hybrid) 2000mAh 22A
Orbtronic 18650 SX30 (hybrid) 2100mAh 30A

Sanyo
UR18650EX 2000mAh 20A

Samsung hybrid (LiNiCoMnP)
INR18650-22P 2200mAh 10A
INR18650-20R 2000mah 22A

Sony hybrid
us18650v3 IMR 2250mAh 10A
us18650vct3 1600mAh 30A
us18650vtc4 2100 mAh 30A

EH IMR
18650 2000 mAh 16A
18650 1500 mAh 22A
18500 1100 mAh 8.8A
18350 800 mAh 6.4A

Efest IMR
18650 (IMR/hybrid) 2250mAh 10A
18650 2000mAh 10A
18650 1600mAh 30A
18490 1100mah 8.8A
18350 800mah 6.4A

If you do sub-ohm coils, you must use a battery which has over 10 amps CDR.

I have a 14500 mod (Reo Mini) I use AW IMR and EH IMR batteries. Purchased from the 2 vendors above. AW IMR 14500 3.7 V 600mAh

Yeah, and under the protective wrap is this little copper wire that runs from top to bottom and it gets real red hot. No worries i had gloves on after i seen that, plus i was close to door so i could chuck it outside if anything started hissing lol. I hope these efest don't need to be skinned. The skinned ones work fine in the VTR but in the Maxus mechanical clone, they made sparks and arks...

 Please stop using unwrapped batteries. Seriously - I beg you. If not for your own sake - for the sake of your surrounding neighbors/humans. There are no gloves and no proximity of an exterior door that would give me the desire to hold this in my hands and vape it in my face 265453d1382469284t-12-deeper-understanding-mod-batteries-part-i-battery_fire.jpg

That is so incredibly dangerous with any battery. That battery may also ruin your VTR. It is (was???) a protected battery. VTR already has a protection circuit, once you add a battery with a whole second protection circuit, much less unwrap it - you are going to have wonky circuitry - You are just really pushing beyond so many limits and I would guess the most you can hope for if you continue using this is that WHEN it fails it does so quietly. I mean, I just, I am just speechless right now ...

It worked fine in the VTR. I'll use it as an experiment to see how violently they vent. I rig a mechanism in a save place to pierce it while I am a safe distance away. I was wearing welding gloves when I took the skin off it.

Is just a battery. I had a Lipo burn down in my RC car it just burned rarther quickly, just drew too many amps out of it and poof!

When I took my iphone apart to try to fix the camera, i pierced the battery with the little pry thing i was using, which was metal, and it burst into flames lol. I have android now....

I don't think having a protected battery in the VTR was an issue, more that the battery was too fat and needed to be skinned. How could double protection hurt anything? it just would not fire if they conflicted.

That being said I searched ebay for mini lambos and found one for 32.99 with free shipping so might just get that since I don't really need or want anything else in that kit.

the one in poland?? lol

saw that a while back.. i think it would be wise to spring for the extra seven bucks to get a stateside vendor in case there's any recourse.
