I notice a few of you GG fans also have a Provari like me.

Since getting my GG, the Provari has been gathering dust. I pull it out every once in a while and try to use it just because I feel guilty about spending that much on what is now essentially a back-up PV, but I always come back to the GGTS - it just hits better. Logically, there's really no reason why you couldn't get the same hit out of a Provari, but it just isn't true - the GG hits better. Period. (I use the GGTS at 3.7v with a 1.7ohm carto.)

Do any of you still use your Provari regularly?

I use both. Been using my Provari with a carto tank the last couple of days, but on the whole I spend more time with my GGTS. Provari definitely has it's advantages, but the GGTS is king of my vaping stable.

I've also noticed that my car "drives better" after I give it a thorough cleaning, and wash the insides of all the windows, clean the dash, etc... Maybe this is similar. haha

LOL! That may be part of it, but I've tried to be impartial in my testing of both devices. There is no doubt in my mind that the GG, with a fully charged battery, hits better than the Provari.

I just got a GG and I am having issues, since you guys seem to be getting great hits, thought you could figure this out for me. I am getting very different voltages from my GG as I tighten and untighten it. I have a magnetic switch and a fuse spring with a top on it with plastic screw (not an exposed spring) and the other end on the Stealth cap looks the same. even when it's reading 4.1 on a fully charged battery I screw on a 2.0 boge carto and get about a volt or more of drop off in my meter and when i take off the meter and just screw it in I am not getting hardly any hit. All of the connection points seem like shiny metal (stainless steel?) should I Noalox the crap out of this or am I just doing it wrong. Sorry to hijack this thread but I am looking for this great hit of which you speak. I have seen all the video's and they never mention any of this or meter it out with a battery (might be missing something) . I am using AW Red 18500's with the stealth cap, but have had the same issue with the UFS v2 and TS air flow cap.

I took it apart when I got it and there was one spring, and it was old looking (I only replaced it after I had a lack of voltage) I screwed the new spring on to the screw and then screwed it back in.

Ok, this could be simple... Let's see if the fuse kit is the culprit... Go ahead and unscrew the fuse from the bottom post and try using your GG without the fuse for a few minutes. Let's see if that helps first... If it does, we'll fix this quickly and easily.

Okay I will try that when I get to the house this evening and get back on here. There is a screw with the button end for the negative post of the battery, screwed into the plastic screw...spring screwed into the button threads then the plastic screw is screwed into the post that the magnetic button hits. If I took the fuse spring out of the kit, I don't think the button would hit the bottom of the inside of the post? Also I forgot to mention that my button is getting hot. Is that normal?

Dan, while you are testing to see if your fuse is the problem... If you want to use your Fuse Kit, you will need two spings to get maximum performance. Make sure both springs are as clean as possible. If they appear questionable, just go ahead and sand them both with some fine sandpaper and clean them off maybe with some alcohol to eliminate any leftover particles. That should do the trick.

I don't have any springs in the switch, I believe it is magnetic. I have also tried to use the post with just a spring in it that is not the fuse kit, with the exact same results. This is a new spring so perhaps adding a spring and sanding them both is the answer. So another question, no one ever has need for noalox on a GG correct?

Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing...

I believe that buttons with magnet upgrade still require maintenance but I don't have any experience in that department so someone else will probably help you out with that.

Have you tested them against each other while using a voltage meter (the kind that goes between the battery and the atty)?

For example, is it possible they seem different because a freshly charged battery on the GG may actually be pumping out more than 3.7v, and the ProVari is giving you a very exact 3.7v, because that's what you have it set at? The AW's seem to start out at right around 4.2v when they're fresh off the charger. Idunno, just a thought. (that said, I don't own a ProVari - so not totally sure how it works, but I thought it had very tight control over voltage - the GG, or more specifically the battery you put in the GG is the real wildcard here)

Even if I set the Provari to 4.2, the GG still hits better. I think it has a bit to do with the air control on the GG because when I use my Stealth Cap it doesn't seem to hit quite as good.
