FDA has no jurisdiction over China. I don't think Hong Kong Post could be bothered doing the US Customs job for them. It's not only "supposedly" that air cargo companies take safety measures very seriously when it comes to batteries.

Crash investigators trace UPS plane fire to batteries

"Shipments of lithium batteries have been suspected of contributing to two U.S. cargo-jet accidents since 2006. They aren’t treated as hazardous, and the U.S. Congress is debating whether to exempt them from stricter rules. Projected growth in battery production increases the odds of fires, the study by U.S., Canadian and U.K. researchers found."

Your very own USPS has strict rules regarding air transport of batteries. Can't be bothered digging up the newsletter right now. I think you get the drift. Dig, and you'll probably find more planes downed due to battery fires.

Hong Kong just went thru a major typhoon.

Hong Kong just went through:

a) A government implementation change that caused millions of packages to flow much slower through their mail system

followed by b) A MAJOR typhoon

followed by c) A National 1-week holiday.

I think you're right. Must be the FDA.

OK - i get the batts may have been the cause of the fires - were laptop/cell phone batts - but nevertheless lithiums....same as we use. So how are the other batts coming in? Via ship?

what abt juice? I dont order from there - but whats the juice ban for? Possible leaky bottles contaminating the rest of the cargo?

And for those that think the FDA or our government has absolutely no say in what other countries can/cannot do - more power to ya.....

Wonder how the US suppliers are getting em?

The same way we do...except they (hopefully) don't post availability until the items are actually in their hands...which could take a week or a month or maybe never...Again, if you buy within the U.S. you personally avoid that and if one supplier doesn't have it, an other generally does. For basic stuff, anyway. I don't get too fancy, I have my comfortable go-to juice and batts and carts and I'm good to go.

The day China cares what the USA says we are really in trouble.

I know for a couple years now every time the holiday gets close shipping becomes a nightmare and most domestic retailers try to stock up beforehand.

also the package scan was mentioned last year before the whole FDA thing started rolling and they are finally getting around to doing it. personally I get too many packages for vape gear from all over the world, I cant imagine they would single out cheaptech.

Tinfoil hattery aside, I KNOW I'm not the only one here that remembers when "Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery" was THE standard for buying stuff before the Internet and package tracking....

lol isnt that when you filled out the order sheet from the middle of the catalog and added shipping that was determined by how much you spent?

ahhh what a crazy world before amazon LOL
