I've been using a spring and half the filler on a penstlye for several days now and I like it. For me the penstyle attys are the worst tasting when dry. The spring still looks the same, no sign of rust.

So for a penstyle you put the spring vertical? and then you would have half the spring and half the filler? Anyone?

Yes run the spring vertical.. you want alot more spring then filler, you want the filler small as possible im getting away with about a 4-5mm loose ball of polly the spring is just to hold the plug in place and stop it from getting pushed down into the cart .. you want to keep contact with the bridge..

Is anyone using this mod getting a Metallic Taste when you vap.. I have noticed this the last like day maybe.. however then I vape straight from the atty (like when you drip) there is no taste.. I think the spring is giving my E-juice (Keko Coffee) A metal taste.. I don't think its the atty but guess it could be.... anyone???

Make sure the springs you are using are the shinny silver ones.. If that dont work for you use a straw and run it vertical the spring is not really doing much other then holding the plug there.

If the metal has no effect on the e-juice, would solder? I was thinking that I could solder 2 springs together in a T shape to prevent the spring and filler from sliding down the cart and having to be constantly readjusted. If the silver content mattered then we go as high as 40% silver in the solder normal silver content is 6% and 15% but I have used 40% as well... thoughts?

Are you using a 510 cart or 801? the 510 has lips and the spring will stop when it hits them.. if you are using a a 801 or somthing else just run a spring vertical..

Im pretty sure the springs im using are stanless steal so Im not worried about the meatal in the e-juice.. but solder im not to shure about.. I think a good rule of thumb is not to use anything you would not stick in your mouth..

So I am no longer getting any throat hit with my ejuice that originally had a good amount. Does anyone know why this is or is having the same problem

I am!

I've had to go back to the PTB mod because as great as this worked for me in the beginning (for about 1-2 weeks?), I just can't seem to get it to do that well again. I got so frustrated....trying new attys, batteries, juices, replace the filler...bahhhh.

I finally assumed that I had cut my second spring to a different size than my perfect first, but can't get that to make a diff either. I'm so frustrated with it, because it worked sooooo great at first.

I ran into the same thing, but here is some added information....

I went to a blue foam plug (like adm but using the blue foam) without a spring. My assumption was using the spring placed tension on the bridge and affected some of the porousness of the bridge itself.

Once I went without the spring, and used two new atomizers, all was great again. Out of curiosity, I pulled out the other two atomizers that lost taste and throat hit using springs. They are working well now also (I had to go through a cart in each before flavor returned though).

So I think I burned out my first atomizer and that was my issue ther. At first it seemed to work great but now I can't get it to suck up enough juice back to the drawing board for my I guess

Thats what sucks about atty's some hit like a champ some are just plain duds... I have had a dud atty that worked great after a break in of 2 days. Try driping to see if it gets any better if it dose not hit good with driping chances are its not going to... also i have got them to hit better by blowing out the primer fluid and or juice doing a dry burn just untill you see a orange glow.. re prime and it starts hitting like a champ.. give that a go and see how it works for you..

This mod is great but then my polyfill plug starts to get "clugged" I don't know if that's the word but no matter how big or small I make the poly plug it starts to build up juice and the juice looks dark brown. This happens with both 510 and 901 carts. Just cleaning the poly solves this issue.

The problem for me is with my DSE801 with low bridge. I haven't been able to find the sweet spot for the polyfill It just doesn't wick. I've been trying the straw mod, the ADP (with spring vertical) mod and the original cartridge as it is and all have the same problem, no wicking.

Could anybody suggest something you have found to solve wicking problem with low bridge DSE801??

Thanks
