And there it is.. the only opinion out of 350 somthing that really matters:pervy: <--- hey honey you want some of this tonight?

Okay, now I understand the little devil avatar.

I'm currently test this mod with a shorter plastic straw (to avoid metal taste) and a polyfill plug about twice the size of the orginal ADM mod. This is so I can top off the cart, which was my normal procedure. It's easier to switch up flavors that way and it keeps the juice right at the top. And if I want a longer vape I can pull out the filler, fill the cart, and place the filler back in. It's more of a multi-purpose approach. Top half OEM, bottom half ADM. I've tried a number of other material but the polyfill just seems to work best. As long as the cart isn't full of it that is!

The longer plug also seems to create a better seal. Just a variation on the original theme. This seems to be my favorite approach so far. A kind of best of both worlds approach. I think all of my carts will get this treatment.

Famous last words.
:D

Tell me about it. Every ten minutes I seem to be trying something new! The original ADM has one thing the others don't. A completely empty reservoir. The juice has no place to go but down!

I'm also experimenting with a different filler material. I picked up four cooktop cleaning pads at Home Depot. A variation on Kristen's RSP variant. It's working pretty good, but you have to replace the filler every other day or so. Not a problem, it's super simple to cut the right size. It's 6mm thick so it gives you a nice deep seal. It's easy to remove and refill to. If you want to give it a try, they were only $2.50 for the pack and should make about 500 plugs (the opening is really tiny).

While the polyfill is great, there's too many loose edges.

P.S. I don't have too much time to play right now and I've got more stuff on the way! I'll let you know how it goes.
P.P.S. Since the new 901/KR808 adapters just came out I really want to make this work so I can use it on the 901. I think it would work really well with that model, too.

Whats the hassle? I think having to go buy more filter material is more of a hassle to me, then cutting it down to fit the cart not to mention its taking up space in the cart that the juice could be filling.. and most pepole have a click pen laying around the house.. Im sure 99% of us still have the polly that came in there carts. this was somthing simple pepole can try with common materials laying around the house..

I am loving the mod!! Was on the verge of giving up my 501 when I came across your instructions. I was so sick of the inconsistency, drying out, etc. Thanks!!!!

Daffy,

I put some pictures over in the RSP (Kristin's) thread that may be helpful to you with your pad and 901 carts.

Thanks, SB. This mod definitely has a split personality. Every time I think I've got it, Kristin makes a new post and I'm tearing up the kitchen looking for something else to cut up.

I am SO wired on juice right now it's not funny. And I vape 12mg!

P.S. I've got 50 pen springs coming from China!
P.P.S. The worst part of a 901 is that it floods so easily. This mod should work great without having to fear if dripping is going to flood out your atomizer.

I wonder wich company is going to come out with the first plug mod? I saw some super 401 or somthing like that came with PTB filler... there just a tad behide but looks like there keeping a eye our lil mods.. pretty cool .

Scottyballs,

What type of increase in juice consumption did you see when implementing this mod? I use the foam plug (no spring), never leak fluid, and am using 9-10 ml per day. I was using 3ml per day before the mod.

To tell you the truth im not sure my barleby came in the day after I started using this.. I think Im actually using less cause Im getting a better hit and dont need to vape as much.. I would say im using about 3-4ml a day..

Good mod. But does anyone have an easy way to refill or top off using this mod? Taking the plug off and then replacing it can be a pain when you're not at home.

Best thing you could do is make a couple carts, I take 3 with me to work so I dont have to worry about it.. or you could use a needle and inject threw the polly, foam whatever your using as a filler

Yeah, here's the deal, at least for me...

I am still wavering between this and the blue foam.
Because I can actually refill the blue foam completely as long as I tilt the cartridge.
But it is a challenge to get the right amount of material.

This method I just use the standard polyfill that comes in all my blank cartridges.
And yeah, I bought about 200 of them way back when.
But filling it back up is not as easy as the blue foam.

I will make up my mind some day, but I will keep using both until I decide.
:)

I'll take a shot in the dark...
I'll go ahead and guess that your wicking material is not in contact with your atomizer bridge?

Well, I think the polyfill is touching the atomizers bridge but I've been trying different ammounts of polyfill and still the same problem my atty gets dry quickly. I'm going to keep trying but I'm just taking shots in the dark
