***edited to add -I would never have been able to quit smoking if it weren’t for vaping. The picture is of one of my first posts back in 2013. vaping got me of cigarettes. ***

I quit vaping!

I quit 9-1-17. I had a health issue (non-vape related) that finally nudged me to quit.

I’m lucky because I’m not around anyone that smokes or vapes so I think that helps.

I started vaping 12-24-12. I really enjoyed vaping and the hobby of making my own juice.

I started lowering the nic in my juice and also started diluting the flavor. I would make a weak flavored juice and when I needed to refill my tank I would add plain PG or VG. The flavor wasn’t there and I started to not enjoy it as much as I had before. I got down to near zero nic and then just gave it up for good. I think it’s a good thing I never used unflavored juice. The taste always mattered to me.

It’s been over 4 months since I quit. I gave all my hardware to my friends. It took a bit to break the habit of vaping while playing games on my iPad. I would grab a drink of water out of a cup using a straw during the transition. It helped.

If it hadn’t been for vaping I would NEVER have been able to quit smoking.

Congrats (twice)! How fantastic that you found a method of making vaping somewhat aversive to you, probably in much the same way that cigarettes became aversive when vaping.... Great job and good planning.

I hope it all continues to go well for you, and while I might doubt myself enough if quitting vaping to not give away my gear (I have no plans to quit ATM) it sounds like you are pretty sure of yourself and that's fantastic. I hope you were able to help out a lot of vapers, and best of luck moving forward. :)

I probably should have kept one kayfun so I could practice wrapping coils. I used to take care of that for a couple of friends. I should probably check on them and see if they need any help!

Congratulations girl! I'm super psyched to hear your good news! If I could've quit in a similar way, I would've. But I still need my oral fix, and I can't chew on things, due to needing a crown. I'm just happy vaping. I know that if I quit vaping, I'd start smoking. So that's a no-go. I don't think I could've given my gear away either. It's kind of like when you keep that half empty pack of smokes for about 6 months after you start vaping, for those "just in case" moments. Anyway, keep on keeping on, and you do you!

Sigh...I made it 7 months and then I fell into a stress trap. Thankfully my friend offered to give me back the vape stuff I had given her when I quit. At least I didn’t forget how to wrap a coil!

There was a Thread awhile back where someone Ramped Down their Nicotine until they got to 0mg. Then, after some time, they Quit Vaping 100% and gave all their Mods/Tanks away.

Then they hit one of those Life Potholes and in despair, bought a Pack of Cigarettes. Great to hear that you were able to get ahold of an e-Cigarette vs. pick up a Pack of Smokes.

If I quit Vaping, I think I will Always keep at least 1 or 2 Working set-ups.
