One day is good.

I fooled around with cigalikes and gum and patches and cigarettes for 5 years before I finally quit. That's when I got some decent gear and high nic juice. 24ml nic. Didn't plan it, just one day I didn't smoke any more. I can't imagine being able to make the switch with 3ml. Isn't that what you said you are using? Although you have some more aggressive tanks than the ones I was using back then so you might not need the nic level I had. Those pods with high nic levels might be what you need, never used them though so I can't help with suggestions.

From reading here over the years there seem to be two routes that are often quoted. Either relax and wait for it to happen naturally, or make a decision and tough it out until you get past the withdrawal. Plus a few lucky souls who pick up a vape and never look back.

Speaking for myself it was always the beer that sank me. There was no way I could spend the night in a pub with my mates and not smoke. Fortunately by the time I quit smoking I had already quit drinking, at least away from home. Maybe you have that problem too.

One more thought. Unlike a lot of us here you haven't reached the age where the consequences of smoking kick in. When your lungs start to crap out it definitely gives you a kick up the backside. But it does mean you have time to get it right before it's too late.

good luck

Yes I am using 3mg nic. I am ready to quit that’s the thing but I always get drawn back in so a part of me thinks i’m not but I believe that I am. I have no problem vaping when drinking my thing is just having to carry battery’s and juice but I think i’m going to go buy a pod style device and carry it on me when I go out. I’m getting my wisdom teeth out on Tuesday . So I figured I’d quit smoking now. Then by Tuesday it will be the third day of no smoking and I can’t even smoke if I want cause. So hopefully I got this!!

Congrats, keep going, You can do this.

Good luck
Congrats to your first day off cigs! If you did it today, you can do it again tomorrow. Stay strong! I had a lot of the same issues you are having with quitting. So many peeps I hung out with smoked which made it harder to quit. But I forward myself into the abyss and got off them with the help of vaping no matter at that time there was a lot of leakage with my hardware. I stuck with it to the point now cigs make me sick. I don't like feeling dizzy and sick to my stomach so I don't mess with them anymore. The smoke even makes me ill.

Thank you thank you! I believe I can do it as well! Just have to stick with it and not let people smoking around me bother me. I think my thing is, I worry about how much juice I go through a day and how many times I hit my vape but now I realize that no matter how much juice I go through 12-15 ml of 3mg juice and a couple hundred puffs, that it’s still better thank smoking. Thanks for all the encouragement to quit the stinkies as well, it actually helps hearing other peoples stories too!

I have a lot of stuff but I just can’t seem to beat smoking. I’ve found flavors I’ve liked and didn’t smoke for like a week but then I just start smoking again. It’s dumb on my part. I quit for almost a year before with 3 mg nic .
It's not dumb, it's an addiction and a legal social thing.

IDK if I can tell you what will work for you. Best I can do is tell you what worked for me. But let's get some facts going first to help that "mindset".

1) There's a whole chemical-soup in cigs. Not just nicotine. I think I went through about a 2 or 3 week withdrawal period [pretty minor] even with all the nic I got from vaping.
2) I had to keep busy. I actually started with DIY juice, but I suppose about a dozen or two purchased flavors would have worked too. The flavors and rotations give you something to focus on. This is assuming you have the hardware aspects worked out (and you say so, so good!).
3) If you continue to dual-use, you get dual-risk. Even one cig a day, or even one every other day, gives you the risks of smoking (although reduced by some degree) and any additional risks from vaping at the same time. That's not to lay a guilt trip on anyone, but it's incentive to "make the switch" in your case.
4) Don't be so afraid of nicotine while quitting. Deal with the nic issues 6 months from now, after you've been off the smokes for that long.
5) A lot of that cig-money is taxes. Frack em. They're just picking on addicts and social engineering. Plus the tobacco companies don't deserve your dollars either.
6) Think about all the other health issues I haven't listed but are covered elsewhere. Combustibles really suck.

So that's basically it. You have to really push through it.

What worked for me, as I hinted at above, was to DIY my juice and "get into" vaping. I could obsess about vaping and forget about not-smoking, in a way. Change my focus. The other things I did were:
A) Throw out all cigs. Search everything and make sure they're all gone. Refuse to buy any. Refuse to bum any. If they're not there, you won't smoke em, you'll vape.
B) Get some nic lozenges for when you can't vape or if you get a malfunction/stuck.
C) make sure you get enough nic.
D) You may get numb-tongue and/or have some minor sleep problems as you switch. That's normal. Be cool.
E) Quit zits. They can happen. That changes too. Be cool.
F) Go here on ECF for support. Keep talking to people. :) This is a great group of people.

Remember the numbered list above if you get tempted. And if you falter, just start counting from zero again, and quit.

Seriously, after about 3 or 4 weeks, you'll get your taste and smell back, and after a while cigs will be stinky to you. Vaping is sooooooooooooo much cleaner. And your clothes don't stink all the time.

If you quit for a year before, you probably already know most of this. But I'm just trying to provide incentive.
Good luck!

It sounds like maybe your friends are a bit jealous or envious of your positive steps towards leaving cigarettes behind you. Whether conscious or unconscious on their part they want you to be with them since they aren't able to move up to your level.

If they are not willing to support you as you try to improve yourself it may be time to hang out with different friends. If the places you or certain activities drive your urge for a cigarette maybe change those routines for a while.

I get how hard it is, I smoked for 40 years 2.5 to 3 packs per day for the few years. For me it was switch from tobacco flavored eliquid to butter pecan and fruit flavored. I think the tobacco flavored was just reminding me of the cigarettes I gave up.

I had an ego style so had to carry 2, somewhere around 10 to 15 ml per day but it was so worth the trouble of carrying extra with me. Today there are many mods that last more than a day without changing batteries, especially those with 2 18650s.

It's worth the effort, see it through. Good luck, let us know how you make out.

Higher nic and a flavor you like is what it takes. Also worth noting is any vape device will do. At least in my case, I sought out new stuff in moments of frustration. Inevitably, the new stuff work work great for a day or two, then I'd discover it had some different quirks than the old system and I was no further ahead. Pick one of the ones you already have and get help if you need to make it work better.

I have read the latest, greatest high wattage setups favor lower nic juices due to how they work. I'm not a cloud chaser so I wouldn't know first hand. I quit smoking using an ego battery and a type B atomizer/tank setup. It took 36mg before I was able to crush the cravings. I still use 24mg liquid, which is more or less the same since I'm now using much better gear. If 3 has you close, try some 6. If that doesn't work step up a little more. You may still feel a crave now and then. Make the vape more convenient and try to get past it. If that doesn't work, don't be too hard on yourself. You won't be the first person who ever backslid and had a smoke while quitting. Eventually with a little willpower you'll get past that.

I still use a several years old low wattage setup (may as well say obsolete) because it just keeps working. A single 18650 in my Provari P3 will run 1.5 days. My KFL+ tank will go just over one day. I change the wick once a week, and the coil 2-3 times a year. It doesn't get much lower maintenance than that. I drive too. When I'm out on the big truck, every morning I swap in a fresh battery and fill the tank, and I'm good to go all day till the next morning. I keep it in a cup within arms reach whenever I want it.

It's been my experience that hostility from smokers (and anti-smokers fwiw) is usually because they perceive that you're cheating, or getting away with something they're not. Still "smoking" without the consequences. I LOL when they get that way. So what?!? Man up and tell them to mind their own business. The real friends will shut up and accept your new habit, the phony friends will move on to someone else to bother with their nonsense. You're better off without the latter group.
