I'm 50 with 5 grandchildren.. different category I think than when I was 25.. lol..

I probably overstepped the mark there :)

I'm 53 with 4 grandchildren....it's nice to feel that all that stuff is far less important these days :)

I like being a grandma.. and when I want to feel pretty I just look at the grandpa beside me, in his eyes I'm still beautiful..

Life has been good, for real. :)

Please don't forget a highly fashionable, manly (black leather) fanny pack.
An undersized baseball cap and sunglasses adds to the "undercover CIA agent" look.

See you on the beach!

Add the black socks with the sandals as favoured by Brit Tourists and one of those "shoot me first" photographer's vests and you'll have cracked it 100%!

Isn’t this ‘the pot calling the kettle black’?

Perhaps you guys should stop checking each other out

Again, welcome though. :toast:

This x 100 ^^^

You profess that you give the "stink eye" to folks for smoking "butthole burrito's" then complain about people looking at you for vaping? Pretty thick irony here. Don't be that guy.

Welcome to ECF.

Just be glad you don't live in New Jersey where a new law was just passed to allow local governments to implement a "rain tax". I kid you not.

I'm definitely very glad that I don't live in New Jersey....i've probably gone a bit soft living here it really is so dry here that rain is almost an event :) 320 days of sunshine per year. The climate is very similar to california except that their winter is a couple of degrees warmer...

Rain tax....LOL...bonkers....if they tried that here the country would descend into chaos and rioting :)

What is a rain tax?

Apparently NJ's sewer and pipes date back to the Civil War and they never bothered to update it. Now they want to so they decided to implement this "rain tax" which is more of a property tax but based on the amount of potential runoff of rain your property will contribute to the sewer system. So the larger the property and the more impervious ground cover, the higher your rain tax.

Here is a video that explains it better and in a slightly comical way:

There’s a popular belief going about it seems that smoking is less dangerous than vaping instigated by some misleading PSA commercials with puppets in them. It’s long, complicated, political, and has to do with JUUL and children as I understand it.

I made cards to hand out I was so sick of it
I need to print me up some of these!
My wife says I can put on, what she calls, in her Lanarkshire Scots, my "F You Jimmy and the horse you rode in on!" look when people annoy me.

Maybe worth trying ( it's fun really to see them turning away! ).

As to those who burst into bouts of affected coughing the moment they see someone vaping or smoking, I usually adress them kindly - " I don't like the sound of the cough you have, it's worrying. You really should see a Doctor, the last person I knew with a cough like that was dead within three months!"

Welcome to the Forum!
Fun ideas.

So it’s a misnomer to call it a rain tax. It’s a sewer tax based on actual use, rather than passing it off via some other less equal measure. I bet the big property owners hate it. This the attempt to rename it. That happened with the “death” tax too which was actually an inheritance tax designed to reduce the power of massive inherited wealth.
