I was reading that people with a Vamo and ProTank were going up to 4.2 and 4.4 volts with this setup and I couldn't figure it out. I am using the 1.8ohm coil and anything past 3.4v would just taste nasty, burnt to a crisp. Sometimes, even with a bottom fed system, I would get that nasty burnt taste which didn't make sense; the wick had juice and I am vaping a 70pg/30vg juice. So I did a search and it clicked, I was in AVG mode and not RMS mode. I feel ashamed right now, I am a problem solver and do that for a living, ha. Then again it's a bad habit to look for the most complex solution and overlook the simplest of solutions. Anyways I am rambling, if you are having problems like me, you cannot get passed a low voltage on the Vamo even on a 2.2 or higher ohm coil then try this:

Hold the ' + ' or ' - ' button for 10-15 seconds.
You will see a N01 or N02 readout on the display.
If you see N02 then you are now in RMS mode.
If you saw a N01 readout then you were already in RMS mode and you are back to the drawing board :p.

Apparently I didn't research enough and the Vamo is delivered in AVG mode. The v/w readout is not accurate in AVG mode and you are basically blind firing. In RMS mode it is quite accurate and you will now enjoy vaping at the proper voltage/wattage :).

Edit: Typo in the title oye.

Welcome to ECF and vaping. While many devices are now coming out with only RMS, many of the older models didn't even have this as an option. I didn't know what RMS was until I watched a PBusardo YouTube Review around the first of this year. On the VAMO, the coding doesn't really lend itself to a contextual understanding either. Cut yourself some slack! Glad it's working now for you. Good luck on your Journey and congrats on getting here.

What's the point of No1 mode? From what I've read, no1 uses it. (all kidding aside, that's an honest noob question, anyone know of a good use for AVG mode?)

Its really about how it was developed. It first started wih the Smoktech Zmax v1 - which had AVG but not RMS. Vapers made a noise about the lack of RMS - which these pvs didn't have at that time. So RMS was added. After that vv/vw pvs that were made carried AVG and RMS.

AVG hits harder than RMS. There are some vapers who like it because it can go higher. I don't have the figures right now but basically 2x 18350 on AVG meant people could go to higher watts. However most people don't want or need that and RMS is fine.
