Well,
It will be two years in June that I have been off the cigarettes.I have been using only bloog equipment the whole time and I have tons of batteries etc...etc..but I am ready for something that will give me the same experience without all the topping off with an extra bottle.I'm not saying it's an extra big pain in the .... to be dripping into my carto all the time...but still I've been wanting to at least try a bottom feeder.I do tend to suck down my bloog batteries pretty quickly and have to at order a new battery every month.I'm hoping these batteries will last a little longer.Do they?
Any chance I can expect a similar vaping experience with the bottom feeder I purchased?I ordered the smaller vmod 2 and I'm fairly excited about it.I'm a little nervous as I have never used any other equipment and never a bottom feeder.I also ordered a couple of the cartomizers to have with it.Can you use other brand cartomizers with it?I usually go through 30ml a week and I put a new cart on at the same time.Do these silo carts last longer?Bout the same?
And I am going to try a new e-liquid from Kbv,the 555.I have only used the 555 from bloog so I hope it is similar if not better.Giving the OMG a try too.
I'm counting on you guys to give me some tips if I get in a bind with this bottom feeder.

Love my 2.0 I also have to swap the battery about noon but I have 6 of the 14500 batteries in rotation so I always have a fully charged one. I think you will be happy with your purchase. I only use the atty with mine as well but at first I did use one of the silo carts and they work very well lasted a little over a month till I moved to the atty. I cleaned the silo and I still have it for a backup as it still works well. Keep in mind though I vape unflavored juice so it is clear and a lot more carto friendly.

Your going to love your Vmod! I think the silo carts last longer that regular carts. I have been using one of mine for 6 weeks and running about 12-15 ml of juice a week through it. I have the small version 2.0 and have to change batteries daily on both of the Vmods. Its easy to do but I wish I had of bought a Xl one.

You should not have any problems getting the device started up and vaping. The instruction manual is well written and easy to follow, the only thing is they tell you to drop in 6 drops in the silo cart but it took more like 8 or 9 before it tasted good. Also, I had to squonk a lot after putting the drops of juice in. If it taste burnt just keep squonking. If it gets flooded after all the squonking just blow it out like you would a regular cart.

I have no advice for the atty as I have not been able to keep it vaping right. A few hits and it taste burnt. There are plently of people here who can help you with that if you have problems.

You know I have never used an atty myself so I'm kinda interested in giving it a try.I guess at first I'll just try the cartos so I'll kinda get the feel of it and go from there.
I'd love some recommendations for cartos and atty's if at all possible.Since I've been only using bloog batteries and cartos I am overwhelmed by the selection available.Basically some recommendations for cartos and atty's that work well, last well, warm, not hot hit,and not so expensive you cry if you forget to squeeze enough.
I know on one review they had suggested the 306 bridgeless cisco atomizer(306 is a 510)I have no idea atomizer.Another person recommended shorty cartos.Any other suggestions?
I can't wait!!!

Congrat’s on the Vmod - I’m sure you’ll love it. In terms of cartos, I’ve had very good luck with the horizontal coil Kangers (http://www.vaporbeast.com/product_p/c37.htm) and the super shorty (Super Shorty 1.7ohm Cartomizer - Stainless (5pack)). The link for the latter is for the 1.7 ohm, which I prefer, but they also come in 2.0 and 2.2 (as I recall) at Discount Vapors.

The Silo cartos that come with the Vmod are also quite good. Pricy, however, unless you catch a good sale (such as their 50% deals, which happen every few months).

I’ve never had any appreciable amount of luck with the Vmod attys, but I know others swear by them (I just ended up swearing AT them!).

Enjoy the Vmod!

Thanks-I'll check it out.I went ahead and ordered two silo cartos so I can see how they do.I hope I can get through the learning curve and settle into automation with the vmod.I actually had looked at it when it first came out but just didn't make the jump.I just hope all this stuff gets here before I'm out of juice and bloog cartomizers!I always wait till I'm on my last 30ml bottle to order and this time bloog was out of stock.....so I made the jump to the vmod.I'm just kinda excited to think I won't have to drive with one hand while I drip e-juice into the cartomizer held sideways while not really looking at it.....geeze.I'm really good at it,but still..oh the freedom to tip and squeeze. How fast is their shipping anyhow?

The Vmod is ideal for use in the car. Once you master the feeding technique (which takes very little time to do so) you can vape while driving without any problems at all. My Vmod and Reo Mini basically live in my car -- they are the only mods I use while driving since they are so simple to use, are as spill-proof as you can get, and can get knocked around a bit without damage to the car or the mod.

Vmod is a very fine choice. I personally wouldn't make 2.0 my primary vape, since the battery doesn't last me very long, but it's just my preference.

If I were you, I'd play with it for a while, to see how you like the concept of unregulated bottom feeders. Then, if you still like it, I would strongly recommend some sort of a Reo so you can put a rebuildable on it.

Also, a shameless self-plug -- VMod's feeding system can be home-improved on very easily (see my blog if interested).

I agree with hazozita....the Kangers (I use the 2ohm) are good because the filler is a bit looser than the Boge, and they have a bottom coil, so it stays good and wet on the BF. The "super shorties" are great too (I use 2ohm for those, too) like at Discount Vapers or you can get them a Madvapes. Both places have a choice of ohm levels. The Vapage Silo cartomizers are really good. A bit expensive, but REALLY good, and according to some, last much longer and many. One thing I got to point about about the "super shorty" cartos...they may not last all that long. For ME it seems that they get a bit funky tasting a bit faster than some. But they are excellent for TH and smooth hits and really clean flavor. I tend to use them the most (other than Silos) due to that.

I have the XL, and it's really nice because it can last a light to moderate vaper for sure all day. Maybe longer. For me...I vape really heavy, so I have to change batteries during the day at some point. But believe me...I vape REALLY heavy. The V2 Vmod might work out really well for a moderate vaper. I have a MV 3.7 box mod that takes the 14500...and it surprises me how long it lasts. YMMV.

Congratulations on getting your new Vmod. They delivered really quick for me...I think about 3 days. Good service! I'm in Florida...and they shipped from California. I love my Vmod, and use it more than my other APVS, which include variable voltage devices.

I have not had long term luck with the atomizers. I've tried and tried...but can only get them to work consistently well for a short time before things start getting complicated...flooding, or burnt taste, or something I have to fiddle with. And I do NOT like to fiddle!! So I stick with cartomizers. Have fun with you new toy! And come back and report when you get it and how things are going!

Yes,I have been looking at reo's for awhile. They look nice, maybe after i see if I like the bottom feeder set-up.Probably would be a good thing to ask for like Christmas or something.I did see that rebulidable -what's that all about?

I've kinda been outta the loop for awhile since I settled into what I have been using for so long that I haven't kept up with the newer products available and exactly what they are.

I appreciate the suggestions for the cartos as I am not skilled with an atomizer, but,I'm gonna give it a try since they are sending one with the set-up.

You know,...I didn't order any extra batteries and now I'm thinking I should have. Can you just charge one battery on their charger or do two have to be in both slots to charge? And what kind of life do you get out of these batteries?Just never used them before.

My juice and my vmod are on their way....goody.I will let everyone know how well it is or is not going as soon as I get it going.

If you got the 2.0 you will need extra batteries. Here is one of the best spots to purchase them... Batteries : AW IMR 14500 3.7 V 600mAh

I use mostly all APVs or "mods" now...the kind of PV that you change out the battery and charge separate from the device. I have a couple of 18650 "no name" batteries I got when I got my LavaTube that are well over a year old and are still working. True..they don't last quite as long as when new, but they are working! I have some 14500s that are at least 5 months old and they are still as strong as ever, with moderate to heavy use. I don't use my 18500s much (Bolt) but they are 6 months old and still hold a charge fine (when I do use them). I think most of the batteries I'm using in my XL Vmod (and my VV Gripper and Ovale V8) are at least 4 months old and are still going strong.

Remember with a mechanical (which is what the Vmod is) you need to be aware of how long you've been using the battery and take care to not over discharge. There are no warnings or blinking lights to let you know that the battery is getting low! Most times you'll notice the hit getting weak and the vapor a bit tepid, but NOT ALWAYS! If you get busy you may not really notice! Try to take care that you don't discharge the battery lower than 3.3 volts so it doesn't shorten the battery's overall lifespan! What I did was get something like this Assembled Volt Indicator, Rev 2 (yes..they are out of stock. Get on the mailing list! You can also check at Smoktek, they did have some awhile back). Then I got this extender Gripper 510 Extension This way...I can attach the volt meter onto the extender and by simply removing the cartomizer from the Vmod and screwing my new "device" into the connection, I can test the voltage level with minimal effort. Otherwise, you have to disassemble the Vmod an remove the battery and use a voltage meter (hassle!) or you have to remove the cone and collar and use a 510/510 extender with the screw on meter. Using the the little screw on meter on the Gripper extender makes it a snap...just take the carto out and check your voltage! Easy peasy!

Just had to post....got the vmod in the mail today!Waiting for the battery to charge...like watching water boil.Looks like you only charge one battery at a time on the charger,no problem. They sent me the wrong extra cartomizers that I ordered, but I did get the one standard 2.2 ohm in the package anyways.I am super low on juice and the new stuff won't get here until tomorrow, hopefully.I'm thinking of just trying out the atomizer with the little bit of juice I got left to see how it goes.I'm so excited it's really quite ridiculous.

Okay,
I had enough juice to get it up and running......and I think I really like it.I put the atomizer in and so far it is working like a charm.I really seem to need to keep that baby pretty wet to not get a burning taste but other than that it works great as my first ever use of an atomizer.I do seem to run through the little bottle pretty quickly....like four hours or so.It might just be I am vaping continuously on this new toy.I am coughing a bit so that is probably it.For me the unit feels a bit large...but remember I have only been using little batteries for almost two years so I'll just get used to the size.It is nice to not have to have one hand bottle of juice, one hand battery, one purse full of extra batteries,etc...etc..The heat from the hit is very similar to my cartomizers and small batteries...I would say perfect. Not too hot,not too cold, very nice.I would have to say that if it continues to work this seamlessly then I would be very happy indeed with my purchase.
The squeezy sound kinda reminds me of taking a digital picture!I just have to tell all you guys that this is just the nicest forum I have every seen before.Everyone is nice and helpful.I've only ever participated in this particular forum for that exact reason.
In conclusion, for now,for today,I 'm not sure if just one afternoon and a morning is enough....but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this vmod to someone who wants to try a bottom feeder.

Wooohoooo!! Congratulations! Be sure to try the Silo cartomizer, too. I really find them easier an less fussy. Much easier to "squonk", too...as when I tip the Vmod XL to squonk..sometimes the juice runs right out of the mouthpiece even though I'm barely squeezing. (shrugs) I don't know. Maybe some people just can't get the hang of atomizers, and I guess I might be one of them!! lol!

It'll get even better as you get your system and BF vape style more developed. Have fun!

Forthrock,

I know this will sound nuts and you have had the vmod much longer than me,but I don't turn my vmod upside down to squonk it.I tip it,look for bubbles or not, turn it right side up,then squonk. And the atty it came with is working pretty darn well.Give that atty another try.I think the one thing about attys that I will like is the ability to just put a couple of drops of another liquid on top of the atty and try it.I can't do that with a carto.
The only thing I am not sure about is how to clean the atty?Do you just dry burn it?Won't that just burn out the little coils? How long do these little attys last?
The only other thing I notice on my vmod is the little switch sometimes rotates a little, then when I engage the switch it kinda clicks and I have to spin it back all the way.
I am planning on giving those cartos a try but I have to wait till my usual liquid is back in stock.I don't really care for the liquid I ordered and I hate to waste a carto on this stuff,so I'm just gonna save the carto till then.
