As of now I've stopped using CCs for my online vape purchases and am only dealing with those vendors who have a PAYPAL setup. That paranoid I'm!

Yes, the vendor in question has also initiated/offered a PAYPAL process lately. Which is why I like them. They r keeping me updated. I thus feel that our vape vendors might be helpless, as many have opined earlier. It's in the nascent stages, there r many bottle-necks... yes it hurts us, but we need to support them as well.

I just got a fraud charge on my CC also. I know it's related to an E-cig vendor but not sure which one because I placed orders with several different sellers. Now I'm nervous and unsure how to proceed with future orders. The disposable CC's mentioned sound like a good idea but where do I get one? Paypal would probably be an option too but it sounds like only a few vendors accept it. I'm thinking of just placing phone orders.

I picked up an American Express card at Target, they have various denominations available, $100, $50, and $25 (I think, might have been $20). The fee for the card is paid at the time of purchase, $6 on the 100 dollar card, and $5 on the 50, I didn't check the fee on the lower priced card. Obviously, this could get expensive over the long term, and I am still exploring lower priced options (and they are out there), but at the time I really needed to place a juice order so I went with what was available.

Didn't have any problems using the card with any vendors. Completed my juice orders with $8.00 and change left on the card and used that a couple of days later doing my weekly shopping.

These cards can still be attacked and have fraudulent charges applied to them, but you can track and dispute charges just as with any CC. I placed my juice orders back-to-back-to-back, so that if the card was hacked, the perp wouldn't be able to get much.

The prepaid CC's sound like a good option but I don't like the card fees. That just adds more to the cost of every order. I know some people can justify it for the added security but over time it would add up and that's a problem for me.

I was just on Fasttech's website and it says they use Verisign encryption and all orders are processed through Paypal. They don't store any CC information and never share personal info. With so many e-cig vendors out there it is hard to decide which one to trust. It would be nice to find one or two reliable ones and just stick with them. I REALLY don't want to deal with any more CC fraud nonsense.

I just wanted to say as a network engineer who has delt and is dealing with credit card security for companies....its probably not the ecig vendor, it's their credit card payment processing company or host....
I'd wager several of these guys share a similar hosting/processing company.

I highly doubt any of the vendors have a server sitting in their office that allows for CC info to be imputted into a database and transact with a bank processing company.

one, thats pretty complicated and expensive. two....they would be getting hit several times day, and 4 times in weekends. IYKWIM

I keep a debit card dedicated for online purchases. There is usually little or no money in that account for this very reason. I got hit bad almost 20 years ago - the bank was no help, and I never found out who the culprit was.

This is what I do. I use a credit union, it's completely free checking. I only have enough money in the account to pay for immediate transactions. If I my computer has been compromised in some way, I would be screwed but I wouldn't loose much. Of course, that's because I have so little to lose to start with. That's probably not very helpful to you big spenders, but consider getting a very low balance debit card with no overdraft protection. As long as the account is nearly empty, larger fraudulent charges won't go through.

Mods keep shutting down these fraud threads.
Say that vendors can't respond.
Every time the op has said, that the offending vendor was contacted.
I guess the solution is to post this issue,
in the negative supplier forum?
Paypal needs to realize, that vapor products are not cigarettes or booze. That would permanantly fix the problem.

There's registered suppliers on here, that ship from the US, but are based in the UK. They can use Paypal risk free. Just ordered from FastTech. They have the most user friendly website. Free worldwide shipping too. Was able to cancel another order myself, right from my own account. 7 CE6s in random colors for $14 shipped airmail!
They're already on their way to my mailbox.
Will give any vendor who accepts Paypal.
The benefit of the doubt in getting my business in the future.

If your vendors take Amex, it is much cheaper to get a Serve card. It is still American Express, that you preload online, they send you the card in the mail when you sign up online. No charges whatsoever. I have been using one for a couple of weeks and it works fine. Serve dot com.
