Slightly of the subject here, but why would Smoking Everywhere have their stuff held? It doesn't come from China, it's made in the UK at their own private factory.*

*YES, I KNOW they come from and are made in China. I was simply making fun of what Smoking Everywhere told me to my face at one of their mall kiosks. Man I'd love to go down and bust them on this!

LOL, the UK huh? They told me they were made in Holland when I visited their kiosk here in the Nashville mall!

So here's my thought.
Suppliers A, B, C, and D need a shipment. They contract with a broker in China. Suppliers send the shipments to the broker. The broker, who is not on the FDA banned list because he's a new company, combines the order and packs it in a shipping container. Shipping containers, as I understand it, are much less likely to be inspected by customs. The container goes to another broker here in the US, where the order is broken up into A, B, C and D orders and shipped out to the suppliers.
I realize this complicates things, and puts a lot of eggs in one basket as well as raises the cost, but it should insure that we have things to buy while all the gray areas get settled with the government folks.

Feel free to point out holes in this and call me an idiot.

Well yeah, that and stop labeling them as 'e-cigarettes' and start labeling them as Slim Hookahs ™. Or Vaporizers.

I was actually half serious. Then again, imagine the fun customs would have opening up every "Gift of Whatever" arriving from China.

Hmmm... Let's each order a shipment of bubble wands from some Chinese company and ask them to label the box electronic cigarettes.

Heh!

I actually think that the best thing we can do as individuals is let people know about e-cigs. I know quite a few people who have given up or cut down on regular cigarettes and replaced them with e-cigs. I know non-smokers who like that these ex-smokers aren't blowing out secondary smoke. I haven't encountered a single negative reaction.

Informed public opinion will be on our side and the authorities will realise that this is a battle that they should not be fighting. It's just going to be a bit nervy for a while.

I call BS. A new supplier comes on and claims that njoy and SmokingEverywhere has had all of their stock seized and claims that this all may be over. You go to his website and he only sells Njoy and SmokingEverywhere products. While you could argue this is how he obtained this information I can't help but be suspicious that this is some kind of ploy to boost his sales... If I am wrong on this I won't hesitate to offer an apology but I am suspiciously awaiting more info.

Good catch - Oh Wise One. I may be wrong, but I don't see any of the above mentioned suppliers listed in this forum. This requires a very close watch.

For a Company as large as NJOY that has the capital to fight lawsuits and patient infringment cases at the Federal level with Ruyan to be totally out of Stock really speaks volumes that nobody is blowing smoke here--There is no sortage of product from the manufacurers and NJOY has the capital to keep their product in stock. IMO they are in fact having customs issues.

Just take a look at their site today--they are out of EVERYTHING---Sun

In addition to the Custom problems. I believe that there has also been a large increase in people trying these alternatives due to the massive tax increase for analogs. I had seen the NJOY in the truckstops for a while but didn't break down and buy 1 until the price of analogs went thru the roof. I stumbled across this site by accident looking for an alternative to the $20 boxes of carts. I'm sure I can't be the only 1 looking for options to $60 per carton analogs.

That's why the Government is stepping in. E-cigs are taking away their tax money.

I think you are exactly right, strayling. It would take someone with far more PR skills than me, but it would be cool if we could arrange "Vape-Ins" at public places with news coverage to raise awareness and show people that this is actually life-saving technology, not just black market gizmos from China. One or two news stories about a large number of people who have quit smoking would do wonders. The only stories I ever see are the ones where non-smokers try to figure out what an electornic cigarette is. The trick would be getting news outlets to cover it fairly and to make sure that it got positive spin.

Ya know, just call me stupid, but wasn't the publicly stated goal of the new and improved "sin tax" to get smokers to quit?????? It's working!!!

I'm guessing they're just not liking the direction smokers are taking to stop smoking...How dare we excersize our rights as fully functioning, decision making adults! Shame on all of us!!
