Thanks for the link... I've wanted an original Kayfun for a while now and finally have one on the way
So, My KFL+ showed up today. I have to say that it's a night and day difference in quality over my KFL clone. First difference I noticed was that the chamber was quite a bit taller than the one in the clone. Not sure if that's KFL vs. KFL+ difference, but the original KFL+'s chimney/chamber if a full 4mm taller.
I had some 3mm RxW left that I used in my Link dripper so I decided to give it a try. I wrapped a 1.7 ohm coil on a 2.5mm screw driver, mounted it at a 45 degree angle on the deck, and the 3mm RxW slid right into the coil with room to slide easily. I cut the wick so that it would lay on its side in the juice wells, screwed down the chamber, and tucked in the wick. I gave the wick a soak juice and put it all back together.
I already had some CLS/CB going in the KFL clone wicked with cotton, so I filled up the new KFL+ with the same blend and vaped them side by side. With both tanks set to 8.5 watts; the 1.8 ohm cotton build on an SVD, and the 1.7 ohm RxW build on my Zen, I gave em a vape and Holy CtrippleR A P!! Totally different vapes! While I have to admit, the cotton made bigger clouds, the flavor with RxW was astounding!!! I'm still playing with the AFC to find that sweet spot. It's funny but it's kind of like having a "volume control" for your flavor experience.
I'm going to have to order a foot or two of the 2mm RxW to see if it makes a difference. The 3mm is too stiff to "glue in place" with juice before putting the chamber together. Plus the 3mm really fills the juice well and may be choking off the juice supply. I find at higher wattage's, you'll get some what of a "dry hit" on long draws....
All in all, I think I'm gonna like RxW in my Kayfuns...
