NorCal - The place to be!
I got an eGo in the mail today. I was hoping to try dripping... this thing sucks. I don't know if I'm doing it wrong but I can't get NEAR the vapor I'm getting with my KR808-D1... It worked okay with the cartidge but when I tried dripping I could barely get any vapor at all. I tried 3 drips as I've seen in videos on youtube.. but so far I am NOT liking this thing at all. Also one of the batteries is bad! (I can't believe my luck with batteries, ended up with bad KR808 batts too when I first started) .. I really hope this eGo experience gets better, so far I am VERY disappointed. I was excited when it got here but now I'm just totally bummed. I read that 'short of a mod, you can't get better vapor than an eGo with an LR atomizer' ... so far this thing is pathetic...

Anybody got any pointers?

i'm sorry to hear that. Most people here will tell you (myself included) that they have been very pleased with the ego. If the vendor you got it from is at all reputable you should have no problem replacing the DOA battery. As far as the dripping goes could be a couple things:
1) some attys need to break in before they really crank out the vapor.
2) did you blow the primer fluid out of the atty before you started. Most atomizers will be packaged with a primer fluid inside them that doesn't produce much vapor and tastes like 3 day old sweatsocks in July. Also, depending on how much fluid was already around the atomizer, those 3 drips you added may have been enough to flood it, but normally it wouldn't be. Normally dripping 2 or 3 drops at a time is just right. Solution:blow out the atty, put it on the battery by itself and press the button for no more than about 5 seconds. Within that time the atty should be glowing red. If so, its firing now. go ahead and put 2 or 3 more drops on and try agian.

Hope that solves the problem for ya

I drip with my eGo...can you explain your "technique" so we can help you ? What is "bad" about the other battery ?

Well, my technique was dripping 3 drops directly on the atomizer, then putting the drip tip in place, then drawing on it.. I just got a tiny bit of vapor, I kept drawing on it hoping it just needed to be 'broken in' but it just plain sucks..

The battery only lasted 10 minutes on it's first charge, and now will not charge at all.. I am soooooooo disapointed with this. There was so much eGo hype out there I thought I couldn't go wrong. I spent $85 total and all I got was garbage.

Hey thanks.. I blew it out real good, but when I held the button for 5 seconds, it did not glow red however I heard it sizzling.. I put 2 drops on it and it's working better now, seems to produce more vapor every time I puff, I think it's 'breaking in'.. but no red glow...

if you don't mind me asking, who did you buy it from? i'm starting to wonder if its a genuine Joyetech eGo or if its a knockoff. You're having more problems in one day then a lot of people have had in months of owning egos.

I got this from litecigusa.net the dripping seems to be working a little better now though...

Did u charge the batteries for 8 hrs? Vaped on them for about 20 minutes and recharged them again for about an hr or so? Jus' trying to help.

I charged it until the chrarger light turned green. Took about 2 hours.. used it and it went dead in 10 minutes. Put it back on the charger, it's been on there for several hours now and still not charged again.. :(

Cool.. This thing is working now, and litecigusa is sending a new batt and the correct adapter (they sent the wrong one, I don't know if it's my fault or theirs, but I wanted to use my VK cartos with my eGo) so this eGo venture of mine seems to be going in a more positive direction. Thanks folks!

Long live the ECF and its kind and informative members!

6-9 depending on the liquid and your drags

honestly I don't think people should be so fast to recommend the ego to kr808 users, it is not the same experience...yes you should like dripping but unless you get an LR atomizer it will not be the same warm vapor you are use to. That being said as a person with both an inferno (big battery style 510 like the ego) and a kr808 I have gravitated to using the inferno more just because of the battery life and the fact that I live with someone who uses a normal sized 510...so it is easier to share atty's and cartridges and the like.

Honestly I don't think half the people who recommend ego batts to kr808 users have ever tried a kr808. That being said...try a LR atomizer on it...or a lower than 3.0 anyway if you want the warm vapor the kr808 was making...or get use to the cooler vapor..there is plenty of it with an ego after all :p

Clinton, I know a lot of people do it, but an equally large number of people have problems with it.

Using LR atties on eGo batteries really strains the batteries. The amperage isn't high enough to run an LR properly, and the switch can overheat and break. This has happened to me, a lot of other people. I'm wondering if that may have contributed to your lagging battery, though I don't really know for sure.

To use an LR atomizer safely, you really need to be using a mod that can take a higher amperage battery, and has a more robust switch. I know a lot of people will chime in and say they've had no problems, but, well, I killed an eGo battery in a few days by using an LR on it and I'm not alone.

If you plan to eventually go to mods anyway, maybe you won't mind that risk, but if you want your batteries to last, you may want to go to regular atomizers.
