i did about 3 weeks of hard core research while using a barrowed smoke 51 duo from a freind helpin me out. i was buyin him packs of cigarets while i used his duo. my health is obviously mor eimportant ten money. long story short i finally settled on the

JOY510 manual battery... from strictlyejuice.com

paid $34 for it and i got some juice also.

after reading so many good things about this joy i cant see how everyone thinks its so good. its far from a joy. refilling sucks<the taste sucks, the vapor sucks. it doesnt remotly compare to the 51 duo(if smoke right).

can someone please chime in and expalin what the deal is. why everyone is on the joy 510 kick? besides price which i can understand the duo is hefty on price with the cartidges etc but for me i only puff mayb 10 times a day so im good.

so expalin this to me. whats the good bad aspects of the joy, and also the 51 duo. good bad.

cus im confused. the joy i filled with juice is a mess. dripping, licking nicotine. its crazy.. hook a newb upppp..

thanks

Hey Lifted,
I am far from an expert but recently purchased a Joye 510. The first few days have been trial and error but I am starting to get the hang of it now. As far as vapor goes, are you using prefilled carts, dripping, filling your own ? As far as taste, there was a off taste until the atty broke in...about 2 days. You might be using to much juice and flooding the atty. When you hold in the battery does it go red right away ? You may just need to soak the atty in warm water then dry well and try again. There are too many knowledgeable ppl on this site that recommend this product, and I believe that I made the right choice. Good luck and welcome

That "nasty taste" is most likely the stock primer they put into the atty. It will burn off.... you should have blown the primer out of the atty and put about 4 to 5 drops of your juice in there then put your cart back on, that would knock the primer out. I did the same thing on my first vaping experience. I loved the hit but the taste was horrible. Now its all good. The joye 510 is a great kit give it some time and soon you will be more then likely only direct driping like most do after they get some experience. I don't mess with carts anymore

Hope this helps
Keep vaping

I had the same issues with the joye 510 the batteries don't last long at all....BUT....it does have a great throat hit and that encouraged me to know i could quit the analogs. So then my journey began to find the perfect pv, lol! So far, there are lots of great ones out there, but for many different reasons. I settled on a ProVape-1 vs 2 and love it. I have also ordered the Riva and the Wet Box...haven't received them yet. I know that putting out more money at the start of quitting my analog addiction is well worth it in the long run and I'm really excited to get my new toys.
Good luck on your journey and NEVER, NEVER QUIT (except for analogs) :)

The carts stick I have no use for them at all. Even with the mods I would rather drip anyday. If you didn't blow out the primer do it now. Just blow from the threaded end onto a paper towel. Give it a real quick dry burn. Just a few 3 or 4 second blasts. Then drip 4 drop right onto the bridge. The silver part on the atty. after that just drip a few drops like 2 or three at a time. Don't leave the cart filler in. Make sure you keep your batteries well charged and if that doesn't work you might have some funky juice.

Good Luck.

I too started my journey with a Joye 510. I realized quickly that the batteries suck, mine were barely lasting 2 hours. Withing a week I ordered an eGo kit, WAY better. The batteries last forever compared to a regular 510, and all the 510 stuff (attys, cartos, etc) fits the eGo. I have since moved on to box mods, and I've started making my own because they are so cheap to build - less than $10. If you are dissatisfied with the 510 batteries, I highly recommend the eGo as a next step. You can find eGo kits for around $50 or so in a few places.

I had the same thing too. I think maybe you didn't blow out the primer they are shipped with. Those attys have a chemical called primer that has to be blown out before filling or they taste like sheeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttt. Also there is a learning curve that takes a few days. When I got mine I said oh heck no, this isn't me. I can't do this. But once I got the hang of it it was pretty good. Don't know about the 51 Duo.

yea i dont understand why everyone loves those either with the atty's and all that the kr808 seem alot better and simpler to me... alot of people like u said rave about the joye's and the ego's but then u also see alot of threads about atty problems, taste problems etc. i have used the Vapor king Kr808 for a il bit now and its so simple and satisfiying. just my opinion... and also since u have another device to supplement u can start off piece by piece and wont have to make a big purchase at once...

Went from the 901 to the 510, and I like the 510. Now using a Riva, which so far is much better.

I also first thought that taste sucks, I hated refilling the carts, and was so damn frustrated I gave it up for awhile and went back to analogs. But at the "encouragement" of the wife, I have started vaping again.

Switched to a Riva, got some LR atomizers, got some decent e-juice (no more Dekang!!!), and using the ZFM mod have made me love vaping again.
