I'm one of them with bricks of carto's on hand. I've also become accustomed to the clearo's of 2013 & especially 2014 and use them more these days.

My problem was that the clearos became like an old dog chasing it's tail, there are about three new versions every week, while catos have remained a constant.

No kidding! I have no idea what to tell newbies anymore, as far as "easy" -- cartotanks are the only "easy enough for newbies" I still use. I don't want to recommend any of the new clearos, because a) I've never used them and know nothing about them, and b) it's hard to tell someone "use this and that and the other thing for a while... when you're more familiar with all this, and finally get tired of leaking and dry hits and the cost of replaceable coils... c'mon back and we'll talk about rebuildables."

The Vivi-Nova is pretty painless. Works well too.

Genuine Vision work well....the clones, seem to have issues

I switched to them from CE-2 w/MAP tanks...it was a natural, easy switch. Still use them, very easy to re-build, solid performer.

Only recently tried a Orchid V4 but something had to replace CE-2 for me... Can'take complain, I missed out on pro-tanks, nautilis, and the rest of the latest greatest.

I remember when Darwins were a big deal. It was the Darwin versus Provari debate.
I hear that! Variable Volt vs Variable Watt. :w00t: Pick a side or die.:danger: Sort of like the Beta vs VHS debate. Opps! Did I just give away my age. Well it beats the alternative. Enjoy the day!:2cool:

I ignored all that crap, and went straight from the eGo to a Mech. I have an IPV, but I still use a mech most. Heck, I just orderd a Workhorse from Super-T -- he's hanging it up, so I jumped on that. Was more or less intending to get the ELA at some point, but now there are none left. :(

Cool thread. I remember all the things RC2 mentioned in his OP. Also remember 801 atomizers, the Kissbox (arguably the first manual penstyle device commercially available, stacking CR2 batteries in tiny flashlights to produce stellar vapor and throat hit, 901 atomizers, beta testing the Buzz, beta testing HV atomizers of different resistances, and the list goes on.

Beta was better Quality, but VHS won the Debate. :(

Yep, the Beta was done in purely by Sony's greed. They came up with something that they new all the other companies wanted to get on board, so they decided to make everyone pay through the nose for patent rights. Someone came up with VHS. It wasn't quite as high quality, but it was way cheaper. The rest is history. I think Panasonic was the only one to buy rights to make the Beta from Sony.

As long as they are the genuine Vivi-Nova :)

Yup, used those until about 8 months ago. So for about 2 years they were my babies. I still have them..just in case ;)

I still use my Vapeonly BCC. Great vape at a fraction of a cost, sturdy tanks that don't leak, and the heads once you get the hang of it last a long time, plus the whole thing is lightweight. My plastic threads haven't gone yet, and practically doesn't dent if it takes a dip into my marble floors. I love them. I use other things too, but I love them to go out as a lightweight alternative

The tank in the picture is 2 years old :)

They also thought people would only use them for taping TV shows. There were almost no pre-taped movies for purchase. VHS got the rights to hundreds of movies before they launched which made it more popular as well.

I've gotten back into dripping in plain old atomizers these days (although I do use tanks as well.) I remember when you could get 510 atomizers in a dozen colors. Color coding makes it so much easier to have several flavors going at the same time. Nowadays you're lucky if they have black plus silver.

Geeze Louise it's nice to revisit this thread and hang for awhile with people who knew what it was like "back when"...

Well I remember when my first Reo metal came along (called "mini" now i think)... it was first run, and I vaguely, i think I was learning about bottom feeding on some little plastic box gizmo... I forgot what it was called; anyone?
There was a "Carlos juice box" i think... never tried one though.

Was that the Missy's Wet Box?

I think the Old Goat came about quite a bit later.

I remember charging my Joye 510 batteries constantly at work, replacing cartridge filler with blue foam and pen springs, and that guy with the fedora doing reviews!

    Great pic, gratefulbuddy.

There are a lot of people who still use cartos and carto tanks.

I remember when Darwins were a big deal. It was the Darwin versus Provari debate.

Ummm... yep! Altho it took me about a year to finally dive into carto tanks (pure and unadulterated fear, added to the fact that I thought all that vliquid swimming around on top look CREEPY), there were years I used nothing else, and was happy.

The D'win changed everything..... including my life.

I still own one. I will always...... (and mine is signed as well).

    RIP, Drew.

Embarrassedly, I say..... I own one of these, too, Burnie.

I remember back when there were only a handful of juice vendors. My two "go-to" vendors were Bluemist (now Azure) and Alien Visions.

I remember when the MAP tank first hit the scene. Most Angry Pirate.

I remember using a tube cutter to cut a 510 carto sleeve off thereby exposing the wicks. Good old days.

I also remember having the elusive Eclipse EQ vaporizer for two days before they were all recalled. Sad.

Tasty Vapor was my top choice back then, or perhaps even further back by a year or more.
I still buy from them, because they are still pretty awesome.

In fact just last night I was vaping their Frosted Oatmeal Cookie.

I remember meeting Most Angry Pirate at a vape get-together in Laguna Beach.
It may have been before his MAP tank went up for sale, not sure though.
