Back when I started vaping we had to fight injuns, bears and lions with sticks and rocks. We had to vape up hill coming and going. It was always 110 in the shade in the daytime and and 20 below at night. And we never complained!

You pansies with your vamos, twists and clearos dont know how good you got it!

Nah, we complained....the rest sounds about right though...

...and the constant topping off of cartridges.

That's how I discovered dripping. A good soak-down of cheap foam lasted about five draws on the Godawful M402 I started with. Somewhere in the butchered, tortured Cantonese-to-English instructional interpretation, they said something about "direct of metal liquid."

Somehow I figured that out and never looked back.

The little 180 mah 510 were too frustrating to use even when sitting right next to the charger! Luckily I'm only a middle child. So, I didn't have to stick with that unless I wanted to be really, really stubborn about the cig-alike size. I got over it real quick!

If I drip on 2 306s before I start the car, I can get a 20 minute drive out of them. Just enough to make it to work. Of course, I don't have to anymore. But, it does work!

I did my share of complaining about charging 510 batteries fifty times a day and the constant topping off of cartridges.

We laugh about this, but a buddy of mine just bought a K100 kit, mod, batts, charger, a funky drip shield thing and a cartomizer. He's only used carto's in a tank mind you, new vapor. So he comes over tonight and pulls the carto off. "OK, I don't get it, you have to fill the stupid thing up all the time, what the Hell's the point! It's worse than dripping!"
I just looked at him and laughed! "THAT, is all we had back in the day! That's what I started vaping on! I would go through 4-6 of them a day! I had one night a week set aside to clean the stupid things, then another night a week set aside to fill the stupid things!"
My how things have changed! Imagine the new members section now! "Really, I have to work this hard? It's not worth it!"

They were a pain, but they worked. The KR8088-D and the Joyetech 510 are what got me off of cigarettes and the pipe. I had smoked for 46 years, having started at the age of 14. I thought that I would never quit, but those early and crude by today's standards, e-cigs, did the trick.

Yeah, can you imagine them sitting down to cut and fold tea bags? Or take time to order pieces and assemble a 3.7 v box mod? Not really!
Well, honestly, it's not like all of us who ran uphill in the snow were successful back then.
The failure rate was really high in those days, and now you almost have to work hard not to succeed.

I just love how far we've come.
And to think that in 2009/2010 it all could have come to a halt.

Yes they did work. I had three batteries on different chargers at all times and a whole bunch of V4L (later Boge) cartos that needed constant topping off but they worked. That is, if they didn't short, sputter, spit hot eliquid in my mouth or burned the filller... :)

I'm still using cartos, Tweety, I sometimes still experience those things. LOL. Maybe, one of these days, I should get a tank. :D

Nah, just get a few of the new RDA's, you don't even have to rebuild them as cheap as they are getting, and they hold nearly as much as a carto does!
