I remember when I got my first ecig at a kiosk in the mall! It cost an arm and a leg! I am so glad to see all the changes!
Started dual vaping and smoking in 2007, joined in 2011 and finally became a full time vaper in 2013! What a krazy journey it has been!

I recall the name -- "slap your mamma" carto filling thingy. The first of it's kind, I do believe. Helpful invention. I have one, s o m e w h e r e.

When deleting some watched threads I ran into these two that just need to be linked on this thread. Many fond memories!

This short one talks about the first vari's sold---and if interested in actual history, do look at the link to "Battery Voltages -- Surprise" from 2010, which is often credited for the idea of vv and vw for e-cigs.

VV Mod History Question

And -- for fun and laughter --- this one by ProfBrad12 from 2011 is actually still very applicable! (read at least the first post)

So you didn't use the Stardust or the Vivi Novas! What a piece of c**p

Never. I think the Stardust are sorta like the iClear16? When I got my first vv3, I got the full kit with the iClear16's... BLEAH! I hated those things! So dadgum hot!!! I couldn't use my vv3 at all until I got a T3S (a BCC) to put on it.

Later after I got a little better at figuring out how vape things are supposed to work, I gave the iClear16's another try.. still hated them; too hot, and they changed the taste of my ejuice rather drastically. Still got one of the originals that came with that kit that I've never used.

I guess, even though Feb 1 will make 2 yrs since I started vaping, I really am still kind of a newbie; started with an eRoll, went straight to a vv3; never used an unregulated ego-type at all. In fact I've never vaped anything unregulated other than that eRoll; with the 2 mechs I have, I always use a Kick, just because with the eRoll I hated how the first hit would be good, and every hit after that a little less satisfying.

I remember when totally wicked had to change its logo because the co-op actually owned the original.
I remember when it was perfectly acceptable to vape in planes.
I remember when you could only buy liquid and hardware on line
I remember when thanks to this forum manufacturers started putting the light in the battery switch not at the end of the battery
I remember when most people bought directly from China and got strange packages through the door Labelled "Children's Toys"

What a walk down memory lane! When I was first researching e-cigs here, the Joyetech 510 starter kits were the most commonly recommended gear for newbs like myself, and that's what I got. The straw mod was great I thought, and that's what I used. :)

The summer before I started vaping, I saw a piece on electronic cigarettes on some show like Tech Now, and I thought wow, how cool. I must have filed it away. In the fall, I found myself in the position of not being able to smoke indoors. I was practically a chain smoker, and I knew I wouldn't be able to cope. I googled electronic cigarettes and found this forum... How grand that e-cigarettes turned out to be a thing!

I'd have been so lost without this place. Still would be.

My first mod was a home made job I hacked together by watching a Steel Jan video, it was an Altoids tin and used 3 AA nimh cells...I ran an Igo-L dripper attie on it  built to about 2Ω resistance.

This is where my journey down the rabbit hole began...:)

BTW, I still have that Altoids box mod, and it still works, it has been upgraded to use an 18500 cell now, occasionally I fire it up and vape it for nostalgia's sake.
