I have to totally disagree with the statement "If I can do it, anyone can". I've heard smokers who have gone "cold turkey" say that. I've heard sky divers say that. I've heard people who lost hundreds of pounds say that. Nope, don't work like that.

Not surprised you always follow up all my post with disagreement and negativity. Do you have a problem with me? whats your deal

I've often wondered what, if any, additional new chemicals we're inhaling when these metal/plastic objects heat up and start to break down. I'm reminded of some Chinese mfrs and their fondness for lead, for example.

Good luck, OP.

There is lead in cigarette smoke also. Some have hypothesised this is its primary carcinogenic ingredient.

Excuse me. I was just discussing a subject in a discussion group. One post followup is not exactly following up all your posts. (The first follow up was a mistake, and as you'll see the post was edited)

Time to mosey off into the sunset.

Cheers;

I cant stand this cleaning process anymore. and that cannot be good for you! I don't think I can continue vaping and I wil also say I am pretty convinced that breathing real analog cigs is not as bad for you as breathing burning plastic.

Give you ten bucks for whatever stuff you have. :)

Cleaning cycle, hassle, burnt plastic? Your doing it wrong.
We have NO PROBLEMS with the 510, keep it topped off after 10 or so hits, ( your tasting dry cart ), have never burnt any plastic here, never had any of our parts die yet, still going on original atomizers for 2 months of constant reliable e-cig smoke, have backups, switch between them and they ALL 6 work perfect.

It amazes me how some people have such issues, while other people refuse to even try the E-cig because they are scared they will like it, they make up tuns of excuses of why not to try it, or even taste it, while they are fighting a constant battle to give up smoking analog cigs, they end up giving in and enjoying the cancer stick, the cycle continues and they never succeed in quitting, and they laugh at E-cig smokers.... I'm sorry but I'm laughing at them.
Sometimes I feel like I'm promoting a religion to people, they are so against the possibility of this being enjoyable as a great alternative to smoking.

I also think these threads of GIVING UP, should be moved to a help section, not among all other posts. I've told lots of people about this site and it's not good for new people to see such a post before they have even tried it.

I hate to see someone quit, but I think Jaross is not coming back to hear why he shouldn't just quit and leave a bad e-pinion out here in Forum form for everyone to see....hope he is not a heavy smoker, but I don't think he quite got these mechanical/electrical PV units very well. If he's young, he still has time to either quit smoking analogs or figure out how to work an e-cig better. It's a shame, really...not like it's Rocket Science:(

I think the people having trouble expect the e-cig to be exactly like the analog, anything less and they're dissapointed. Yes, e-cigging is different than analog...duh. I still say e-cigging is only good for a stepping stone to quitting nic forever....until they refine the product so you don't need to refill it ever 10 hits...it is kinda troublesome for some...not me, I love it but I refuse to swap cigarettes for vaping as a fulltime vice. The feds are gonna mess this up, you watch, the more people that flock to it, the closer we are to taxing it and or banning it. Vaping is my way to rebel against the tobbacco tax. I'll be off vaping before they mess it up too (I hope). vape on! ;)

I'm still new at this e-ciggy thing, but I am never quitting it. Sure, there is a small learning curve and it can be a pain to top off at certain times (driving), but I am hooked and I feel 20X better already.

I used to smoke 2 1/2 packs a day, and to be quite honest, I am actually surprised at how little I actually vape per day. I take my 2 or 3 hits and put it down to cool off for awhile. Still searching for "my" flavor... Maybe I will vape more after I do, but hopefully not. My ultimate goal is to be nic free.

I want to thank all of you here for your very informative postings. I have read a ton the last few days and learned alot.

Peace out,

Jerry

Why bother coming on the forum to announce giving up if he's not looking for someone to convince him otherwise? If he's not looking for advice or attention then why not just fade off into the sunset?

I've had my 510 for 2 weeks now. Honestly, I've sailed right through it with no problem. I think it's just the learning curve plus being somewhat organized with your e cigs. I haven't had an analog since I got it. I think it's fascinating that you can enjoy e cigs without the smell, the damage, the nasty crud analog's leave all over everything. The most amazing thing to me is, now that I have learned how use e cigs properly, that I don't feel like I have given anything up. I still feel like I'm getting all the enjoyment I got out of smoking analogs without all the toxic waste. Doing math in my head the past week I will ulimately save money with e cigs, even if I have to replace 2 atomizers per month which hopefully that won't happen, but that's worse case I hope.

I'm still running on my stock m401 from over a month ago. Well, i did get a second atty so as to not mix liquids. Only problem i had was that first draw ever from a e-cig. Tried to quick inhale like an analog, then sh*t WTF is this sh*t, why the .... is my mouth burning. Oh, such memories. Anyways though my only problem is sometimes when i'm filling carts with a syringe the filling gets caught on the needle and pulls out. What a pain, but i'm over it. So moral of the story is get some disposables if you don't want to mess with it.

Okay, I've scanned through all of your posts Jaross, and it seems as though...

1) You want a stronger flavor zero nicotine liquid
2) You have been having trouble with a plastic burning taste at times

In regards to (1) above I think you should make your own juice.
It is easy to do, inexpensive, and you'll get the amount of flavor you want.

In regards to the plastic burning taste, I think you are vaping too hard and/or too fast and not giving the liquid time to wick back up into the atomizer. This is a taste I get as well with my 510 because it burns through the liquid pretty fast. I also noticed that you have been trying to get the filler further away from the atomizer, this may only serve to make your problem worse. The atomizer bridge MUST contact the filler or you will get no juice at all.

There are a number of things you can do about the wicking issues.
I would be happy to offer some suggestions if you're still around.

And for what it's worth, I don't really think you are burning any plastic.
I think what you are tasting is a dry atomizer.

yes I would like some help...

Look, I posted becausxe I would like not to quit vaping. Lastnight, my cig went through its cleaning (blinked 5 times) after that, my atomizer was VERY hard to drag on and all I would get is the plasticly burnt taste. I thought I had this bad taste thing figured out since I started making filler out of coffee filters.

There is indeed a learning curve, just as there is for analogs. It took years to learn the art of smoking correctly, which cig was best for me, at which point when I started feeling that I had had too many analogs that I should take a break.

I love vaping and have no intention of quitting. I just killed my first atty yesterday (it was an original from April with lots of vaping on my 801) and have my 501 coming hopefully tomorrow. Other than the initial investment and trial and error, new attys, batteries, and juice are still cheaper than analogs.

At this point I think I am more addicted to vaping than I am nicotine, and I am addicted to this forum (finally found something more interesting than Facebook lol).

I too thank you all for such great comments and criticisms, this is truely a community.

Hopefully I won't get to flamed for this, but e-cigs aren't for everyone. They didn't work for me. To much hassle, not enough nicotine. I didn't have enough hours in the day for e-cigs. It works for a lot of people but not everyone.

The real mistake is to think that it's ether e-cigs or analogs. There are other alternatives.

There are a number of reduced harm nicotine products out there. One or more of them is likely to work. What worked for me was Swedish snus. It gave me the nicotine I needed in a hassle free way. There is also dissolvable tobacco and nasal snuff.

E-cigs are just one of a number of reduced harm products. You may want to check the rest out before you completely give up on alternatives to analogs.
