The ProVari actually DOES use PWM to vary its voltage output. Someone recently posted a comparison between the outputs of a ProVari and a Vamo (see http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ari-oscope-vs-vamo.html?highlight=provari+pwm ) including putting them on an oscilliscope. The difference (and the reason so many people like the ProVari so much) is that while most devices run at a slow rate (37Hz, or 37 on/off cycles per second), the ProVari does it at 800Hz (800 on/off cycles per second) which results in a much smoother power feed to the atomizer.

Just wanted to clear that up :)

wow thanks for the info Hambone. i was told differently originally. bottom line is: one can tell the difference in vape between the two types of PWM.

Lahme- Vamo is a great PV for the price. i own one. its no provari, but that doesnt mean its not a great PV.

Provari are definitely top-tier when it comes to PVs, and will last a lifetime, but are pretty pricy for a beginner (I know I'll get flack for that :) )

My suggestion is to go with a VAMO...it's probably the biggest bang-for-the-buck VV on the market right now. They are rugged, flexible (you can run just about anything on them, from 510 clearos, cartos, tanks, CE4s, RBAs etc, etc), supports multiple battery types (with the included sleeve), reliable...and you can buy about four of them for the price of a Provari.

Buy once, cry once. If you can find a better PV than a Provari, buy it. Ask yourself what is most important to you in a higher end PV, and if the words consistancy, dependability, durability, and serviceability are at the top of the list, then the answer will be a Provari.

Provape frequently has slightly blemished Provari's with the regular 1 year warranty for $140 in the clearance section: http://www.provape.com/category-s/37.htm

Yes, you might be able to buy 2-4 of the less expensive mods manufactured in China for the price of one Provari. But they are cheaper for a reason. The parts and manufacturing quality are not up to the standards of a Provari and there will be absolutely no product support after their warranty expires. Not only is the Provari a much better manufactured PV with top end parts, the manufacturer will continue to service their product long after the warranty has expired. That alone is worth the additional cost of a Provari in my mind. Once you've replaced a cheaper mod a couple of times a year, you'll begin to want something a little more consistant, durable, and dependable and be willing to pay a little more for that and some good old-fashioned customer service. This is the definition of a Provari.

Buy once, cry once. If you can find a better PV than a Provari, then buy it.

Long term, the Provari does not have a big price because it will outlast anything out there about three to one.
ummmmmm....my mechanicals will last generations longer than the Provari LOLOLOLOL

it's an on or off device...no wires/solder/circuit boards. Output voltage is whatever the battery is putting out, but the wattage can be controlled by devices such as a Kick. Subsequently, with manipulation of resistance and wattage...you have essentially a VV or VW mod that can be run over by cars and light aircraft. Most mechanical mods also come with lifetime warranties (Provari has a one year warranty that you pay extra for). Not saying that the Provari is crap kit (I own two), just responding to a rather daft post.

there is only 1 kind of vamo OP. There is not a "best quality" Vamo.
Although they do come in different finishes and I would recommend buying a stainless steel.

but yeah, the provari is my favorite vv PV. it feels like a brick. nothing rattles.
you can send the provari back for repairs whenever you need to. even 10 years from now.
there are only a handful of mods that allow you to send them in for repairs.
The vamo, zmax, evic, none of them allow repairs. but if you need something cheap, they do work.

when you have been vaping for a long time, you realize you dont like when things break.
but if anything breaks on a provari, you just send it in. same thing with reos. saber touches too.
meh. your best bet is to look up these PVs on youtube and watch some in-depth reviews.
find what means something to you. what you believe in.

i can highly recommend the provari. it comes highly recommended.

hmm.. Im stuck with ego twists, and I want a variable device and I cant seem to find one that has a good reputation, theres too many options, too many vendors, with big differences in prices, hard to know if your getting ripped off or not, set aside quality... I want some recommendations from people that have been using a variable mod for a while
