I know alot of people that still buy cigs from other countries and only pay 17.95-25.99 per carton. These other countries dont report to the federal government for tax collection. We will always be able to purchase e-cigs from companies outside the US. Im not worried at all.

You've mentioned this twice now in this thread.

I used to do the same thing! From Germany if I recall correctly.

Until one time customs seized the entire shipment. They re-shipped them, for free. But it took about 6 weeks to get 3 cartons (the minimum order).

I've also heard of people getting nailed doing this for "back excise taxes". With bills jumping into the $1000's in some cases.

I just don't see ordering over-seas as viable anymore to avoid taxes. (Note: I did love it when it worked though!)

That's the way I'd go. Trouble is the attys, though. If I were to want to vape the rest of my life, and I were to stockpile attys for my remaining years,

Okay, people get all up in arms over this stuff, and it's kinda silly IMO.

You can go, right now, and buy a ...., or a pipe CLEARLY designed to smoke an "illegal" substance from.
75% of the gas stations/convenience stores here sell "pipes". And this is true in most major metropolitan areas.

If not, you can go to a "head shop" or flea market and get them. Or order them online. They are legal until an illegal substance is put into them, even though no one in their right mind would smoke tobacco in a water-.....

The hardware can't be "banned". It's never going to happen. It just won't work. "They" will just find crafty ways to re-label them, or find "other" uses for them.

[example : we will all be using atty's to "vaporize" incense. And a unit with a battery will become a "personal incense vaporizer instead of a PV.]

Those people getting nailed for taxes were people that were buying from those Indian reservations in the US. My step mother went thru that. The vendors from Russia and Switzerland and UK never report your purchases to anyone.

But your shipment can get seized by customs and you are back to paying US retail until they work it out and re-ship.

And if you don't think the cost of seized shipments (in my case it was an entire container) don't inflate the costs...well, you may want to rethink that.

I also "suspect" (meaning : know) that sometimes these seizures are "sold" (given) to big tobacco to be used in reconstituted tobacco.

The more shipments that cut into "big tobaccos" revenue the more seizures you will see. Since Nic-Juice is seen as an enemy of tobaccos profits..... Dude, you're smart, think about it.

+1 While there are some communities that ban head shops getting the hardware would not be a problem as it would just be marketed for alternate uses. It's the niquid that would become difficult or expensive to get.

I would probably just switch to SNUS (provided that doesn't get banned too) and vape 0 nic DIY juices.

In the US at least I don't think an all out ban would ever happen. The ecig business is booming and the government needs money. They would not shut down an industry that has exploded nearly over night bringing jobs and money to the country. The only problem I foresee is new taxes that will surely make vaping more expensive but thats all. Maybe some annoying state legislation such as new york as well.

I don't think they would ban the hardware but if they did a decent engineer would be able to make atomizers if given one as a template to work from. They would simply make the parts themselves I would imagine. The most likely ban would be the the carts and juice I would imagine as this is the fuel but you can make your own and keep our old carts and just replace the filler when needed. So I think it would be possible to continue vaping but it would be a lot more difficult, and obviously a lot less popular!!

I'd react by taking a stand, voting if necessary and using my big fat mouth to protect my 1st amendment as a US citizen!!!

Hopefully Ecig's are way too far in to pull back. Alcohol, Pot (In some states), TOBACCO cigarettes are all legal and have proven in someway to have psychoactive effects. I know it's all about the $ in the end but they'd have a hell of a fight on their hands!
