April is not when regulations will pass, it's when regulations are expected to be announced. And then there will be a mandatory commentary period, etc.

Everyone should subscribe to the legislation and news forums to keep up on things regarding regulation, etc. All the top people in our industry are posting and/or represented there. Become informed and join CASAA (even donate, if you can :) ).

The more of us that are informed, the better we can represent our cause to those that need to be educated and persuaded! :)

Yes, many of you think that April of this year could be doomsday. That is NOT the case!

In a radio interview of Bill Godshall from Smokefree Pennsylvania, he outlines the FDA rule-making process.

If you are interested in knowing and understanding what is currently happening with the FDA, I strongly urge you to listen to this radio tape from VP-Live done around January 20, 2013. If you go to about 42:00 and listen to the end (which is a total of about an hour), this is where Bill’s interview starts. I know it’s long, but I truly believe you will be happy that you did; especially if you are in the US. Below are some of the highlights from this interview.

From what Bill says, late last year the FDA issued its “Notice of Intent to Propose Deeming Regulation;” to be issued in April, 2013; and this is what prompted the recent public hearing. However, they have twice in the past issued a “Notice of Intent to Propose Deeming Regulation” and never did. The first time happened in the summer of 2011 saying it would be issued in October of 2011 and the second time happened in the Spring of 2012 saying it would be issued in the Summer of 2012.

The process, according to Bill, is if they in fact issue this “Deeming Regulation,” it is NOT law yet. There would be an additional time span of somewhere between probably 60 and 120 days to generate comments to this “Deeming Regulation.” Bill believes that IF the FDA does issue a “Deeming Regulation,” no new “law” would occur until probably the end of this year. He stated that not all federal-agency proposals become law and there is a formal rule-making process that must be followed. He also stated that IF the FDA does issue a “Deeming Regulation,” he feels it would be more like June or July before that is even issued.

For the benefit of new members thinking the FDA's opposition
to e-cigarettes, which save lives, doesn't make any common sense ...
You're RIGHT

It has nothing to do with Common sense
E-cigarettes threaten BP's profits ... and the FDA is owned by BP.

That shouldn't be that way ... You say
Again, You're RIGHT

Q: What can be done about it ??
A: If you come up with something we haven't already tried ... Let us know

BTW: If you're thinking contacting your Elected Officials might do the trick...
You might want to read this first - LINK
:p

If you sense a degree of anxiety and frustration coming through in this post...
Again, You're RIGHT

That is all I use and im trying to decide if it's necessary to start buying multiples of everything...call me crazy but i suffer sever anxiety and am ready to purchase 10+ MODs and RBAs on top of what i have if need be.

The FDA can probably do whatever they want, they're the FDA! If you are worried about it I'd suggest saving up money right now and then when the word comes out about the regulations, decide what you want to do. The way I understand it, it's not going to be an overnight ban. They will release word on what exactly they are planning and then there will be proceedings. So you should have time to stock up.

On the other hand, if stocking up now will help ease your anxiety then go for it! I mean, you'll use them eventually right? And if they don't regulate them out of existence and you have an overabundance there's always trades, sales, Christmas/birthday gifts to smoker friends, etc.

I have mechanical mods, rebuildable tanks and atties. The mechanical mods should last for quite a while, as long as the threads hold up. I also have a few wood box mods, and still have a few 510 and Ego batteries. I am not worried about ever running out of working mods. If and when I do, the ban may be lifted, or there will be a type of black market for mods deveolp. I plan to hang on to my money and wait and see.

I found this link here some place. I saved it, you know, just in case. Besides, it looks like a fun project.

There was a time I thought America would wake-up !!
Today, it appears that many are waking up ...
just to find most in America today are co-dependent on government.

Considering the way that today's generation totally accept horrible music, books and movies I'm not seeing things getting better in the future. If Gangnam Style got 1 billion views on Youtube you know that a majority of people don't like to think these days.

The biggest thing most Americans want to think about is should I pick up some milk and eggs on the way home. It's sad and I hope someday it changes while their is something to change. You have to take the E Cig petition for example. Around 26,000 people signed it and ECF was not the only place it was advertised. Most every vendor on the web had a link to it. Now compare that to the number of Americans who use E Cigs and you probably have a less than 1 % turnout.

As someone who was born and lived in the US for 27 years and has lived in another country (Turkey) hence allowing for a different perspective on America, I believe the only way to guarantee the survival of ecigs would be if the big three of tobacco (Philip Morris, Reynolds American and Lorillard) all purchase ecig companies. If they got a nice piece of the pie then they would definately back off.

from a numbers standpoint, if a million americans quit analogs to smoke ecigs and they had previously smoked an average of a pack a day thats one million packs a day. At a country average of 6 bucks thats 6 million dollars a day gone, which makes roughly 2.2 billion dollars in lost revenue a year. throwing 50-100 million dollars around to lobby groups and campaign donations to outlaw ecigs is obviously nothing compared to what they can lose. Unfortunately the Ecigs side probably could spend 1-2 million max (just a guess) to fight off big tobaccos assault. vendors and users really need to come together and these chinese manufacturers really need to fund the fight in the US because if America is the crown jewel of the ecig market and if its outlawed here many other countries will follow using the US as an example.

There's reasons why I and others got out of the "paper stock market"
and invested in Gold & Silver. Gold and Silver have NEVER been worth Nothing !!

YEAH, I know the stock market it soaring right now ...
But not as fast as our National Debt !!
There is something called "Consequences"
even though many wish to play the "ostrich game"
