Does dripping in an igo-l provide more flavor than a genesis?

It depends on a lot of factors, but yes, I think so. I love SS mesh but flavor has never been a strong reason why, at least for me. I taste a lot more subtleties with silica or cotton or hemp than I ever did with mesh.

Here's the benefits of both, IGO flavor and coil setup, AGA tank and versatility. Drip it at home (tank catches overflow), tip it till you see a few bubbles go into the tank when your out and about. The AGA is a great platform for so many different builds, and it's an IGO too.

Whoa!

How do you do that cotton wick on the AGA? (Was just on a thread about this, and am very curious.)

You can get it on ebay, hemp twine in 1mm, 2mm and sometimes 3mm. The vendor is called "lovepetal".

You've probably mentioned before, S.Wit, but have you done cotton twine as well, and how would you compare? I'm trying cotton "Baker's Twine" right now, and wondering about the hemp thing.

I know people love it, but I honestly had very little luck with cotton. I tried the rolled cotton (from CVS), cotton balls, and makeup rounds. I just didn't like the 24-hour recommended soak (I'm not a patient man) and the inability to dry-burn. It seems to wick fine, but it's very fragile.

I'm not really using the hemp anymore at the moment, because I got some good quality silica and I'm really enjoying it right now (in both the IGO-L and the AGA-T2). Just ordered the RSST and maybe I'll try some hemp in that since the wick hole is large. Cotton did work pretty well in the IGO-L, but the wick life is short and the silica tastes "cleaner" to me.

I started with no-name silica today, and thought it had a taste. Then I pulled out this baker's twine (out of the package and into the coil; no stops on the way) which I'd bought in anticipation. I'm very happy with it. No cotton flavor to speak of (compared to unbleached cheesecloth and cotton yarn). So what silica are you happy with? BTW, I do my cotton with a thin sleeve of ss mesh just under the coil (like a 3/8 x 1/2 square)

THAT'S CHEATING! :D

I was trying to get away from SS mesh due to the chromium scare thing, so I went through a bunch of wick experiments. I know you're the experimenting kind, so you can probably relate. And I've never really cared for the (to me) muted flavor with a SS wick in a genny anyway.

I've seen your builds, and the SS over cotton is a good idea, but it means you aren't really going to taste any wicking material you use. You could use hemp, it wicks well and will supply that SS with plenty of juice if in a dripper. It's not so good in a genny. It requires a U-wick to wick well. I had one successful build, tried another 5+ times and gave up.

Anyway the silica is from Germany. eBay vendor vaporbase-de. He ships internationally for cheap.
