I'm battling some ANTZ from Cali with edits to the wikipedia page on e-cigs

I'm trying to remove unsubstantiated propaganda regarding 2nd hand vapor, and he keeps adding it back.

*After reading the entry on ecigs last year, I gave up trusting them for anything.

There are a lot of ANTZ using Wikipedia to peddle their lies. A few years back I also gave up on the ecig page, but I picked it up again recently, after seeing some signs of improvement.

They are peddling the steaming pile published by Grana as if it were the only reliable source.

ANTZ aren't the only ones that edit Wikipedia. Anything that is even remotely controversial will be edited many, many times. Wikipedia should never be used as an authority on anything.

Great work......thanks for showing this. It must be frustrating and time consuming....keep up the good work. It is unfortunate that people do use Wiki as a source without questioning it.

Regardless of the quality of Wikipedia articles in general, and this one in particular, the fact remains it is a primary source of information for many people, and a lost PR opportunity for us, if the ANTZ get to peddle their lies using that platform. I think it is our duty to try to provide some accurate information by all means possible, including Wikipedia.

If you search the IP address lat/lon on google earth you end up in a residential area in Menlo Park. Don't count on it being accurate as if I do the same on my IP address it takes me to a railroad overpass ~ 40 miles from my house.

The ANTZ are at it again. They've scrubbed most of the edits I've done, and reinstated many of the lies I had removed. They also vandalized my citation of the Burstyn study by calling it "funded by ecig industry".

I think there used to be a guy on this forum who was responsible for managing the Wikipedia page.
I remember seeing some kind of title in his profile information regarding that.

I will report my own post here, and see if the moderators can shed some light on that.

So how does this whole Battle of the Wiki Edits work?

Can you get banned from Wikipedia if you were to post something like the following every day...
Or even every 20 minutes...

This Wiki page is under siege by Anti-Nicotine and Tobacco Zealots who are posting false and misleading information in an effort to keep people from using electronic cigarettes.
They are afraid that electronic cigarettes will end smoking as we know it, and also end their careers and take away their jobs.

How does one go about fighting something like this?

That's up to the folks that run Wikipedia. From what I understand, there's supposed to be discussion in the background if there's a disagreement regarding the facts on a page. There's also supposed to be citations and footnotes to back up facts. If someone is changing things without proof, they should be reported using Wikipedia's reporting channels to get things fixed.
