If you vape 5 ml a day, at 50/5, you'll go through ~1L of VG/PG a year. Actually less PG as flavors typically come in PG, and if you buy your nic in PG that also counts. Rather than buying a gallon (~4L for simplicity) is way overkill. Me? I but a quart/liter at a time. I still have 3/4 of a bottle of PG sitting around as I mix 70/30, maybe ~10% flavorings and nic in PG. I just finished my first quart of VG a month or so ago. As I don't expect any supply issues with that stuff, having a GlyCube of 4 gallons stashed somewhere doesn't seem to make sense in my circumstance.
Thanks.

If you haven't ordered your other supplies yet, you should be able to include those with your order. I think most vendors have them, maybe a few more :2c:, but easy and no shipping charges.
I actually was going to order some of it today but I see the price on the scale (american weight lb 501) went up by almost $8. So now I'm searching for a better price. Anyone have an alternative cheaper scale in mind?
Also I wanted to use the a.c. adapter with this scale anyone know where to get it or which one to use?

So I got my orders from Amazon and heartland vapes just about set up. I am about $5 short of free shipping at heartland vapes so I think I'll throw in 4 oz of cotton candy flavoring $6 since its talked about a lot and I love dessert flavors. Its either that or Apple jacks by fw that I already plan on ordering but I think they want too much for it. Whatcha think? I am a very indecisive shopper. After that I need to get busy looking at recipes and ordering flavors. Then I should have everything I need.

I got my nic and other stuff from Heartland Vapes. I also got a couple of these bottles (8oz Bottle (250ml)) for my VG and PG as well as some glass for my mixes to get me to free shipping.

I just put in my order. I nixed the cotton candy idea. I got a smaller thing of Apple jacks and pina colada flavorings instead.

I was just looking over recipes. 3 out of the 4 I want to do say they are mix and vape the other one doesn't specify. Its a mother's milk clone. I am going to have to adapt that one when it comes down to it because it's too strong for me. I see why now looking at the recipe the flavorings are at over 20%. I diluted the mm I have here with unflavored and it helped a lot. Probably down to 10-15% I will have to mess with it.
Where's the best place to buy flavorings? Seems like most the recipes in looking at favor tpa.

I made my first DIY couple days ago. :)

After reading bunch of reviews I bought SF-400C scale. Not the best you can buy and I would not use it for selling gold, but it does the job when it comes to mixing juices. It does not recognize first few drops, but after it's OK. Also you can use DC12V power supply you can buy almost anywhere. If you have a modem, router, battery charger... you already have this adapter at home.

P.S. As I'm at the beginning of the road I cant give many advises, but I already know that using 1,5% of DX Marshmallow (TPA) will gunk up your coils after 1 tank. :D Maybe Blueberry Candy (TPA) and Sweet Cream (CAP) contribute to gunking, but I will never again use more than 0.5%. :)

I buy about 80% of my flavorings from Wizard Labs online. They carry many different brands, including a huge variety of TFA/TPA flavorings. They also carry many other brands, too. Sizes available are 8mL vials, 30mL (1oz.) bottles, and 120 (4oz.) bottles. Prices are very reasonable, shipping is fast and fairly priced, and customer service is great by phone if you have any questions.

Other 20% I buy from One Stop DIY Shop. That 20% is usually their One Stop Flavors and One Stop Blends that only they make and carry. I love them!

Other places people usually recommend on here for flavorings are: EcigExpress, Liquid Barn, Bull City Flavors, Nicotine River, MFS, and others.

I use the same scale and am satisfied with it. A quick tip about it not registering those first few drops: After you have placed your mixing container on it and zeroed it out, but before you begin to pour, and a coin (or other object) to the scale to create an artificial reading, Then you can start your pour. It will register every drop and won't try to re-zero itself. You can either leave it in place, or remove it once you have a couple of tenths of a gram poured.

I happen to use a paper clamp like this:
upload_2017-2-24_1-59-36.png
that I have added a small piece of folded paper to (and trimmed so it registers to an even 10 grams for ease of arithmetic). When I stand it on end, it takes up very little room on the platform, and the little silver loops make a nice handle for easy removal.

Scale starts registering at 0.04 or 0.05 grams. This is so little that it doesn't really matter.

Maybe for really small container, like 1.5ml, then every little drop counts, but I will never make mixes so small. When I got some 1.5ml samples I realized they are just too small to make a good evaluation of the juice. My cotton needs some puffs to break in and after it's just not enough juice to make a good evaluation of the juice. So smallest mixes I intend to make is 10ml where precision of 0.05g is enough. But in case I ever need to measure 0.01g, now I know what to do.

I wouldn't let $8 on a tool your going to use for several years be a deal breaker for you. Think of how much money it is going to save you :) If you haven't checked it out yet, I did a thread on weight based mixing: Mixing By Weight: Basics 101

I tend to mix at about 10%. I just mix up a bunch of base (nic, pg, and vg) based on 10% flavoring. That way, whether I use 8% or 13%, it's going to be in the right general area.

I'm very lazy.

Me too. I mix a bunch of 10mg base, then add around 10% to 15% flavoring. The mixed juice will end up with around 8mg to 9mg nic. I'm pretty sure I couldn't tell the difference between 8mg and 10mg nic juice in a blind test so why worry about it?

Alright everything is ordered, flavors included. Now I just sit and wait for my 4 packages to arrive. Only things left to get are the condiment bottles-wal-mart and gloves- harbor freight has them dirt cheap.

I got a dozen 120ml bottles on amazon for $14.99 with free shipping. Do I need to wash out my glass bottles with soap when I get them or just rinse them?

I'm not sure which bottles you ordered, but I've gotten several different kinds off Amazon and never did anything more than rinse.

I've bought Boston Rounds from Glass Bottle Outlet and Amazon and see no perceptible difference in them. I wash mine out before I mix and shake them to get out most of the tiny drops left inside. By the time I get my scale and supplies set up for a mix session all the moisture has evaporated and they are crystal clear and ready for the scale.

I tried the twisted paper towel drying method where you roll it up and use it to wipe the inside, but it's almost impossible to get all of the curved top part completely dry. I just let room air do the job.

Although I firmly believe in DIY there is a lot of commercial e-Liquids here because there is nothing wrong with a good commercial for a change up. Some of the Vendor e-Liquids I have gotten give me ideas for my own concoctions or a twist on what they offer. Variety as they say is the spice of life and I like it spicy!

I live in Phoenix. All I have to do is set them out in the sun even now and they dry fast.

That'll work.

My bottles usually take a day to dry out after rinsing. Much of my rinsing is recycling juices, so a good wash to get rid of the old, and a nice fresh bottle for the new. I wish I had a better labeling way, s there's always sticky left and I have to do a quick Goo Gone wipe down before the bottle is "good as new".
