The argument about the best mod goes way back. A few take it seriously but it's pretty much a running gag around here. Provari/Reo/Whatever, they all have their fans and qualities that attract different people. Apples/oranges. Really, it's nothing worth getting upset about; most of it is simply good-natured ribbing.

Want your faith restored, read this http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ble-act-kindness-good-will-fellow-member.html Then go over to the new member’s forum and watch all the people over there trying to help new vapers with the problems, technical malfunctions, misinformation and fears.

Then there is dear Flavored. ECF and CASSA owe him a special debt of gratitude. I'm sure he has spent thousands out of his own pocket, not to mention hours out of his day, to get people to sign up. Other members have chipped in to donate goods to help the effort. Here is the latest thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/member-contest-forum/479098-pif-new-ecf-casaa-members.html

ECF is a very special place where thousands of people get together and help each other out as best they can and share information. Sure there are some complete ...... here but they usually get the get the boot pretty quickly and the rest we gradually ignore.

Never mind, I take it all back. This place is a bastion of bad news. Go to the media, legislative and FDA forums to really get riled up. Then do something about it. :D

The internet in general quickly degraded into a anonymous free for all bash trollfest. I see it all the time, on all types of websites. I rarely comment on it because someone will just step up to the plate and bash me for having an opinion that differs from theirs. I think a big part of the problem is that there is virtually no way to tell the inflection or tone of a person's words in print. It becomes very easy to misinterpret a casual remark as a mean-spirited flame... And yeah, there will always be the fanboys, zealots and elitists everywhere you go... In cases such as that I just stick to the facts in conversation. Sometimes knowing when to walk away is an art in itself... Don't despair! There really are good people in the world, and some of them are on the internet! :)

Hey, you forgot the shills, crazies, messiahs, political believers, terminally naive, and all the rest...

There really are good people in the world, and some of them are on the internet! :)
This is the only thing to argue with but then I'm having an acute cynicism attack today due to running out of the appropriate medicine (Calvados).

That is what To Me sets the ECF apart from Most of the Other Forums, It Isn't an Un-Moderated Free for All. It isn't Over-Moderated Either. The Members tend to Self Police Things.

Sure, there are a Few Wackos. Or those with Fringe NUTZ Views. But where Isn't this True?

As I have been sitting reading all the threads from here and there and every where I'm becoming more and more disgusted on how us vapors are acting. You have threads about the elitist and you have threads downing a reviewer. Are we not a community supposed to watch out for one another. If some one wants to think they are a elitist because they own a authentic mod, RDA, RBA and not a clone who gives a [Moderated], if you think you are a elitist because you only will buy a clone then who gives a [Moderated]. I thought the point into vaping was to try and save our lives and not buy the ciggys, but this has become who is better than whom. People slinging mud at each other and for WHAT??? If a reviewer gives a honest opinion then let them without bashing them. If they have others safety in mind then let them. If you don't like what they have to say then don't watch or read what they have to say. So because a company doesn't like that persons opinion should we just take the reviewer out back and shoot them because they are giving a honest opinion? I don't think so. A company that doesn't want to open the ears and listen not just to a reviewer or the purchaser then that is a pee poor company. They ( Amerivape) are spinning webs around the lies they keep telling but still insist it's because of one reviewer( Come on people common sense here) it's not because of that it's because they as a company don't give a crap about you they give a crap about making money. End of story on that. Now for the mods and what have you. I don't think I'm a elitist because I don't own a clone I don't think I'm better than anyone. If I couldn't afford a original then I would be happy just to have what ever might be available to keep me off of cigs and just save to get what I wanted. Nobody is any better than anyone in this world. Some can afford the real stuff and some can't. I can't afford what I wanted or I couldn't get my hands on a mod that I wanted due to only so many produced. So in some way I can see why stuff will get cloned. But we all need to stick together and get our heads out of the sand and stick with each other and not against each other. Stop the bashing!! okay my rant is over and not sure if it all made sense but at this point in time it did to me.

Frankly, I think this ALWAYS seems to be the way things evolve. Used to be, that if you wanted one of the earliest automobiles, "you can have any color you want as long as it's black."......per Henry Ford. Now, some have to have a Mercedes, a BMW, a Ferrari, etc, etc. If you ride motorcycles, some aspire to the high end bikes, while others are content with a basic Honda, Suzuki, etc. If you want diamonds, some are content with the deep symbolism and meaning of a basic under-1-carat stone, while others need to flash the BIG rocks.

'Tis human nature, and the way of the world. After all, if one spends a gazillion dollars on whatever it is you're into, some feel a need to 'differentiate' themselves. "My toys are better than your toys" kind-of-thing, just like children, really.

My question is, do those with the biggest mods get all the girls? (hehehhhh.....I might consider upgrading if this is the case.....)

Good post.

I have no respect for people who want to show how much better they are by buying more or better things.
I have money, and I use it to support charities, not to build some kind of infantile castle to make me feel all good about myself.

Those who want to show off are the least respected people in my world.
They're a bunch of [edited]

Some of them are even [more edited].

I find ECF to be fairly docile compared to some forums I've experienced. Yes, there are a few hardware extremists who think that anyone who doesn't have what they have is misinformed. Maybe that's true in some cases, but it's easy to become informed and make your own decision with all the resources here.

For the most part, ECF is a great place to gain knowledge about vaping. You just have to be able to get along with people or be insightful enough to know when to back out when it's apparent that there's trolling going on.

With 211K members and an average 18,000 active there will be a few antagonists. You just have to ignore them. Personally, I think admin does an admirable job in weeding out troublemakers.

I personally find this forum to be one of the most civil places on the net... especially given it's size, broad demographics and constant posting traffic. I post on some music sites with no rules and this place is darn near angelic comparatively!!

When I was a smoker I always found the little micro-societies surrounding public ashtrays were almost always a friendly place to meet and make small talk. In many ways this forum reflects that. What I don't get is why we didn't congregate like we do now around vaping subject matter..?

Let's try to maintain the mature and reasoned sophistication of the first page or two, please. If you'd like to start a fight then invite all comers to your town square at a given date and time, and have it filmed for our entertainment.

Just not here, thanks :)
Can I at least post the invitation here?
:)

When there is something new, all followers agree. This is the newest bestet thing! Then, when the new thing grows and gets bigger and bigger, followers start to disagree. "I agree with what we agreed upon in the first year!" "No, what we agreed upon in the second year was way better! You are not a true follower!" "You are both wrong! If you don't agree with what happened in the superior third year, you are infidels!" I guess it's just human to get religious about these sort of things. And then the wars start.
