im not a owner but heres some thoughts of what id change.

I am one of the purse carriers because I am a desk jockey. But my hubby is an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, shirt pocket, toolbelt, tossed around a pickup all day, extreme heights, weather and his REO is a beast. He use to carry one of those American made tube mods, but he was breaking tanks at an alarming rate.

I think the only improvement ever was the button cover. But that's more of a personal liking as my other half likes his the original way.

Tell you what Matthew...you buy a Reo, maybe you'll get lucky and there'll be a slightly cheaper one in the classified thread, tho not very much cheaper cuz these Reos hold their value, unlike most vaping types.

If, after say, two weeks, you don't care for the Reo for whatever reason, you put it up for sale in the classified thread and you'll only lose a few bucks.



But I'm betting my youngest daughter that wouldn't happen!

I kind of understand some of your concerns in the work environment you are in, and someone who has never used a device would be interested in real-world applications of said device.

That being said, I do believe that you have a few options if you decide to take the REO leap-of-faith: get a 14500 mini and stick an atty with a shorty driptip on it, and a spare atty in your other pocket (just in case). Another option is the same 14500 mini, a RM2 Rebuildable atty that is milled down to fit the 14500 device. Should you put undue stress on the atty connection by an outside source pressing on the connection, the plate of the milled-down RM2 would seat against the mod itself, and not place pressure on the actual threads of the atty connection.

As far as pressing the bottle and flooding your pocket, I think that would be a rarity and not the norm.

Of all the hundreds or I don't know, thousands of mods out there, I truly believe that the REO is the toughest, most well designed for ease of use bottom fed mechanical mod you can buy. If that is what you are looking for, you have found it. From that point, I believe it is up to the user to make accommodations for his/her particular situation.

thank you, your advice is helpfull and the the only thing holding me back is money really. its not like i dont believe you guys when you say its the best thing since sliced bread but im sure you can understand my lacking of faith considering we all have bought something that was said to be great and bout it and it turned out not as great or bad.

honestly im looking for something that i can take anywhere and is durable, will last me the whole day without problems or changing batteries, most important wont leak all over, no tight draw, decent vapor (doesnt have to be a amazing cloud) and good flavor with low ammount of dry or flavorless hits. i know the reo fits most of this. however i guess....i......have doubts just like anyone else untill they buy one and try it. I have big time buyers remorse from my last ecig i bought and dont think i could deal with it happening again.

You are welcome. I think my husband isn't the only one around here who puts it through daily harsh conditions. I had actually left one of mine on the Appalachian trail for a bit, went back and found it. I came home and gave it a bath ( yes you can bathe them, sans battery ) got a new battery and it was fine. The REO design is brilliant in it's simplicity and durability.

I think it is actually quite iconic and artful.

I always felt that way about the Morton Salt Girl logo, you know, her standing under that umbrella and it's been perfect for 50+ years.

I hope Robert (listen up!) thinks to bury one, in one of those time capsules. I'm serious. I think it would stand the test of time if somebody found it decades from now......even as an art piece.


Yet I *do* have one improvement and I owuldn't mind a squonk hole in the front narrow part of the mod, due to how I hold it. I press the firing button with my thumb, so my index finger and middle finger could give the bottle a squeeze. The only other way I hold the reo is using my index finger on the firing pin, in which case my 4th finger would press the bottle?

I was noticing yesterday, it DOES make a difference if you are holding left or right handed.......when holding in right hand the DOOR is toward us. If you have a pretty door it is not facing outward to other people.

Well, I am a lefty, so if I hold in my left hand, door faces outward, away from me. Body is towards me.

Does anyone here hold in left hand??? That way "shows off the door color" to the "audience"

I have big time buyers remorse from my last ecig i bought and dont think i could deal with it happening again.

Unlike fasttech junk, your reo will hold it's value and they don't last long in the classies.

I DID swap one with a friend who didn't like it, but he got a super T manufacturing mod in exchange for it, and that is also a high dollar mod. I swapped one for a Provari once, only because a friend wanted a Provari.

I just bought another REO both times.

I "did" buy one for my brother, who is very wedded to his ego twist.......and he still wants his ego twist. And that is FINE. I am getting my REO back from him soon.

Just remember quality is quality.

I know that concept is lost somewhat on the "fasttech generation", but there will continue to be those who know what it's all about.

I'm a stalker And just read some of your posts around the forum. Wow, you are new.... ego's, tanks, looking at vamos...crap, crap and more crap but still already out a few hundred bucks. I remember that month ....the first month I vaped, before finding out about REOs. A REO is an investment, but one that is going to pay for itself time and time again.

I assure you Mathew if you buy one and in the first week or so find its not right for you then so long as youve not marred it up you can get your money back out of it. I highly recommend a RM2 Rba to go with it especially after seeing you like an easy draw Ive drilled my air hole out to about 1/16". Another thing about the RM2 as someone else has posted is that it has a large base so as to give it lots of strength if dropped I did stip my 510 fitting out from using normal atties and have just had it repaired and with many drops on the ERA and RM2 rba it has so far stood the test of serious abuse. I am very had on my Reo I will try to post a pic of some of my damages

My polished Mini is much worse but the damages dont show so well in a pic it has been seriously abused even run over by a car and spit out from the tire and shot over 100 feet down the road

I have 2 minis and a VVGrand. I am right-handed, but generally vape with the left. With the minis, because they are so small, I squonk with my thumb then hit the button with my thumb. The door faces my palm when I use it.

What you describe is exactly what a REO is. It is The most durable device you will ever find. My wife and I have been using them for over three years. They have been dropped on concrete and tile floors more times that I would care to enumerate. Twice they have dropped from motorcycles traveling in excess of forty mph and always immediately operated perfectly afterwards. A few scratches and dings but no real structural damage. Get a Grand it is mechanical, has a six ml bottle and an 18650 battery which should carry you through the day.

All of the great testaments you see here have been earned by a truly great mod. Beyond that the man who created and builds provides the best customer service you could ever imagine. In the unlikely event something actually goes wrong he will do his best to help get things right because he actually cares.

Seriously, I can't think of a more work-friendly mod than a mechanical REO, either the Grand or one of the Mini varieties. Particularly with either a compact RBA such as the RM2, or with a shorty carto that is not so prone to snapping off. I've carried mine in my pocket for going on 3 years - no problems, whether working on my car in the garage, or landscaping or construction projects around the house. I've banged it on just about anything you can imagine, and it's been subjected to dirt, sawdust, oil, water and paint.

I guess we're a little defensive. It's the best vape I've found. I leak a lot of juice when careless but, on the other hand I can throw it in my pocket with a dry wick and it not leak.
