Ok so ignore the title, its really NOT what you think!

Ive been vaping now for nearly 3 weeks and had a great response from friends and family, all of which are very supportive of me giving up analogs and going onto ecigs.

Well they all have said the same 'it looks like you're doing drugs!'

Which it kind of does, think about 'prepping a syringe and filling up a smoky lol it does look drug orientated, has anyone else had this response with anything whilst out and about or maybe the same responses from your families?! :)

Many thanks
Eddy

PS > The comments were all meant in good friendly light lol (Im VERY anti drugs btw)
Another comment i had whilst vaping on an e-lite (cig immitation) was "Is that ET's finger?!" :vapor:

I've had people tell me that my silver bullet looks like a .... or pipe. I've never really known much about drug items but from what I've seen on tv it looks nothing like those things the people use. I get really upset when someone says it looks like a drug because I'm extremely anti-drugs. I don't even like taking medications that affect my mental state. Most of the time I just say well I think you're wrong and walk away. But there have been a couple of times that someone has caught me in a bad mood and I get a little mean. I think people have a habit of talking out their azz and some people just can't be educated. I don't leave anything laying around because I have an 11 yr old here but my husband giggles when he sees me use a syringe to empty a tank. He says it looks like I'm playing mad scientist. No one in my family knows I vape. They all just think I've quit smoking. Most of the people that have said anything are friends or people from my school. I guess everyone is different and me I will always stay ignorant of drug paraphenelia (however you spell it lol).

I've been hearing this for nearly two years and I still don't get it.
I came of age in the early 70s and have done or seen just about every recreational drug done and NONE of the apparatus used to do them looked anything like a PV.
Granted, there are now vaporizers used to do herbal concoctions that resemble elaborate box mods but a regular ecig looks like a pen and a tube mod just looks like a piece of metal pipe. Why do people just automatically assume "drugs"?
Of course, they are right, to a degree. Nicotine is a drug but so is caffeine and we don't refer to Starbuck's patrons or smokers as "junkies".

This past weekend we were at a birthday party for a family member. Most of us were hanging around the fire pit smoking. I was using my old goat with the pretty lights and everyone was like "what are you smoking?!" And "you know this isn't that kind of party!" It seemed like every few minutes someone else would come out and I was having to explain it all over again! Everyone thought it was pretty neat though. I even gave out the ecf address to a couple people who were interested.

People think smokers are addicts, anyway. All my non-smoker friends were constantly asking when I was going to quit the nasty tobacco habit. Now that I'm vaping, they thinks it's much better, but they expect me to quit that, also. I'm not sure I'll ever quit vaping, but there's always a chance I'll outgrow it.

I just explain that it's nicotine in a propylene glycol solution and PG is used by the medical profession to deliver drugs in a fog to the lungs during breathing treatments for asthmatics and to treat pneumonia. It's also the fog that you breathe during concerts and plays if you are close to the stage. I explain that PG or VG is in foods, toothpaste, salad dressings, medicines, and just about any edible product that requires thickening of a liquid.

They begin to understand once they start looking at labels and finding out that they are regularly consuming the same thing that's in my ecig, minus the nicotine. But, they get their nicotine from tomatoes and potatoes and many other food sources. So, they are consuming by mouth everything I get in my ecig, including the food flavorings that are widely used in my juice and their foods. Mine is just delivered in a vapor.

Some of my mods look like weapons of mass destruction, so I'll get mighty funny looks from PV-naive strangers. I've learned to go out only with Boge cartos screwed into eGo-T fat batts. With these I look like I'm sucking on a fat pen. This seems to be less threatening to passersby.
