Alright gang. I do believe it WAS the o-ring that was causing my infernal leaking! I switched it out for one from one of the pre-mades and followed what amounts to a combination of all of you folks' suggestions, and it is working perfectly now!

It's either luck, or that o-ring. I guess I'll know for sure when I re-wick. Which I might do tomorrow. And if/when I DO re-wick, I'll do my best to photo-document the process. But as of right now, I think swapping out that o-ring (or making sure the one that's already there is tight AND wide enough) should be a sticky at the top of this thread!

Seriously though, thank you all so much for the help and patience. Getting this thing working early this afternoon really put me in a great mood. I even worked up the nerve to talk to a pretty gal that was in the vape shop that I frequent. (hey, I'm a shy fella, but she had a TFV4 and was buying coils and I had a legit reason to ask her which ones she preferred because I'm trying to figure out if I just don't like ANY pre-made coils, or what!)
Works for me :)

I would have if I wasn't pretty sure I overheard her say something about her boyfriend to the folks behind the counter. But the TFV4 was definitely hers, she had it on top of a box mod in her back pocket. No way to tell what mod it was without being leering, lecherous creeper! Well, besides just asking, of course. Ha! ;)

Hey, she had a TFV4. Ask her to dinner.

Ask anyway. I wouldn't exist if my dad hadn't :D He had a business lunch with my mom's then bf, who brought her along. She left with my dad :)

is it just me or do a lot of you guys spend up to an hour+ on wicking, rebuilding, perfecting the build/wicking, etc etc... I spend a lot of my time doing this, and I take pride in it! hahaha
(just want to see if i'm going a little overboard with the whole process)And not to mention, I have a horrible addictive personality ...

Once I learn how to build/wick it, it doesn't usually take an hour to do it. But yes I do when learning the ropes. And if something screws up, I tear it apart and rebuild. I am probably just as .... as you are.

Rewicked the mutank coil last night after taking it all apart and washing it. Now its actually not bad. Not sure it was worth the hassle, but I'll probably rewick the other unused coil as well before I even try that one. That way I'll have the 4 post deck built, ready to go, the 2 post deck built, ready to go, and a premade coil rewicked and ready to go for quick changes on the road.

Oh, and I emailed indulgence/unicig yesterday about how bad their dual coil is, and gave them a suggestion to scrap it, and make a dual/quad vertical SS coil, ala crown coil. Explained the benefits of a vertical coil for these sub ohm tanks (greater airflow, consistent wicking, etc), and pointed out that a vertical coil could also have a smaller diameter, and allow for slightly higher juice capacity.

Good deal, Dan. You're not raving about it but "actually ok" is a big improvement. I am still wondering about the machine oil, though. I can't see a lot of sense in that.
Yeah, not entirely sure it was machine oil, there was some type of funky residue on the SS sleeve where it was press fit against the base. Washing it seemed to help.

Now the rewicked premade coil tastes the same as a normal build I would put in the 4 post deck, so its a huge improvement indeed.

Cool glad that may have helped. I love my mu's. My g v2 has been in action the last couple of days though cause I havent had time to whip up some more fused claptons to put in the mu. I've been stealing puffs of my other halfs mu at night though in the mean time haha.

It might only take me an hour to build if I need to make Clapton wire, or something is not acting right on a new atty. Wicking generally takes me 2 or 3 minutes.

When I was a newby, my first couple took me like 40 minutes. I had trouble trapping coil leads on that kfl+, my first RTA, lol! Now I could do one in 30s. My first Rose build I got a piece of wire in a post. Kept coiling it and getting short, without realizing why.

HaHA! I also have a Rose, a v2 clone that is. Never got it sorted either. But that was because I couldn't figure how long to make the coil leads. Too short and they couldn't go in far enough to get trapped. Too long and it won't sit right above the air hole. And when I DID manage to get the coil in there, I couldn't get it wick'd right and got lotsa dry hits.

But I've moved on from that particular atty. I've got other stuff to mess with!

It was my favorite for more than a year. I have 2 clones and an authentic. It was just not easy for someone doing her second build ever, lol!

I have never used NiCr, but I am rather fond of twisted 28s, parallel 28s and triple twist 30s.

Well, fired up the new Mutank this morning using a stock coil, I guess it's the .25 even though it's reading .32.....

Flavor is a little off, not bad Per Se, just a bit off...

What concerns me more is that I filled the tank, figured I would let it set and wick, went to make coffee, came back and half the juice was running down the side of my brand new SX!

I don't know, we'll see I guess. Thought maybe it would be nice to have something to slap a coil in when I feel to lazy to build. May have to pass on that idea. I do like the airflow control band better the the MT, I guess it would be interchangeable?

Definitely like the juice capacity better, may not have to refill 5 times a day...

All in all, I prefer the MT RTA better, granted I have only used the Mutank for a few hours.

On a side note, I broke the glass on my MT, simply by trying to unscrew it, it literally cracked in my grip....Good thing I have 3 spares but someone needs to hurry up and make a replacement tube, I usually stock up on them for all my tanks...

The first few times, yeah. Now I can rebuild her in about 20 minutes, maybe less....
