That's a big coil for only 50 watts. Maybe try doing it at 5 wraps instead of the 7 you have there. Just pull the coils out and unwind 2 wraps from each one and see what happens. That way your not making new coils

Hahaha I def need a bigger box mod... That build is pretty sloppy so I want to redo it but I'll try the 5 wrap with the current coils first. Do you use hangouts @Bman123

I have to agree. That's a lot of mass for 50 watts. Shorten that up some, it should cut the ramp time. I have mine built at .3 using parallel 28ga slick wire; it rocks at 40 watts. You might try twisted 28s, or triple twist 30s or 32s.

I'm gonna try that parallel 28 build. Dumb question here, what's slick wire??

Good morning, everyone! I had a couple of days worth to get through here. Good stuff! I have't rebuilt my MT yet, because I'm waiting for my Clapton wire that is supposed to get here today. I bought some 26/36 from LV. I'm going to up my coil size to 3mm and go with 5wraps and see where it takes me. I have been enjoying the heck out of my dual 26 5wrap, 2.5mm, but I think it's harder to pack sufficient wicking in and it does have some seepage that I have to wipe up often. I've been through about 4 tanks now and it's just an incredible, and THIRSTY beast! I've got my IPVd2 set at 60W and it's doing really nice. This next build, I'm going to really make sure the juice holes are thoroughly packed!
I'm a mech guy, but this thing just rocks! I will try some higher wattage once I get my RX!

Geeze a guy is gone for a day and we get two new guys to Vaping Nirvana! Welcome @GccTxs67 & @SavePaperVapor!
I think I'm going to try nickel on my RX and see what happens! The RX seems to be much more accurate in TC mode than my IPV4s! My only thing is Joules to Watts! If I was running my IPV4s at 50 Joules approx. how many Watts is that?

Good to see you back, Bill! Thought we'd lost you there:). Converting joules into watts isn't possible as they are two different types of measurement. The closest thing you can do is this: P(W)=j/t(in seconds). Joules is the amount of energy used in a specific time frame. Watts is the amount of energy used in relation to voltage and resistance.

So watts is about ramp up time & the temp is the limit? So that's why the Rx shows real-time temp?

Actually, the watts is the power being used. The joules are, in a simplistic way, how fast it heats up, mostly used in temperature limiting, which our tc devices use. Watts help with reduced power times when in power mode. It's confusing as hell, and many people intermix joules and watts when it's not really the same. So, if you have a device set for, say, 50 joules, and it reaches it's specified temp in 1 second, you would be using 50 watts. 50 joules at temp in a half second, like you have some fine gauge wire in your coil, you'd be at100 watts. I would just play with it and get the settings to where it's hitting the way you want and leave it.

I just use joules as watts on my SX boards. It works fine. As has been said, joules is the wrong unit of measure and they can't mean it. Joules have a time component, and you control time by how long you push the button. I always thought it's mostly advertising, just to differentiate from other boards. The only way joules could be correct is if the mod pulsed for a certain time period with each button push, no matter how long. Obviously, they don't do that. If they mean "x joules per second," that's the same thing as watts because a joule is defined as 1 watt for 1 second.

You said it better than I did:). And most folks don't know what it is, so they just set the mod to where it hits great for them. I don't know why they have to confuse things.
