Ugh so my rx200 decided to give up the ghost tonight. Out of no where the mod said device too hot, then no atomizer.

I took out the batteries, cleaned the 510 pin with a Q tip, cleaned the 510 on my troll and my tfv4. Sprayed the 510 connector with a can of air. Put it all back together and nothing once again.

Time to email vapenw which won't be open til probably Tuesday and see what they say about swapping it out.

Figures I sold the other 2 mods I had and this is my only one and it quits working. I had such good luck with the other ones that I decided to sell them to friends in need and now I'm mod less.

Hopefully everyone else is having a better weekend then me right now.

That definitely sucks.I had planned on getting a second one for quite a while, but mine says no atomizer or atomizer low about every 5-6 button pushs,so i decided a while back that i won't be getting another.I ended up getting a vaporflask classic the other day, quite a bit more money than the rx,but i like it alot more anyway.

I just woke up and I have no idea what happened over night but now it's working. I took my tfv4 off of it and the 510 pin looks like its higher up now. Like somehow last night night when I cleaned it the 510 got stuck down or something.

I'll see what vapenw says about this

That's a weird one. I must've missed it, but what mod is losing connection with the Mutank? I've kept my Mutank paired with a rx200 Reuleaux and haven't had that particular issue.

While I'm here for a minnit, anyone with TFV4 experience know if it's possible to use 28g/32g claptons on the basic, single coil RBA deck? The one that comes in the kit. I rebuilt mine last night with 28g, 6 or 7 wraps and a big (for me) 3mm interior diameter. It's working pretty dang great this way, but it's got me thinking that a big fat clapton would be even better. The current macro coil that's in there is 1.04Ω that I'm firing at 29 watts (5.5 volts). Could be firing higher but my wick isn't quick enough (first time I've wicked this thing in months).

Apologies for the digression, once again.

I haven't got my roundtuit all polished up, but I intend to replace the 510s on mine as soon as I do. It's annoying when it "loses" the atty. It does it a lot more often with the #3 MT than anything else, though. Go figure, huh?

That has happened to me too. Periodically I have to raise it up, and clean it. The 510 on these really needs to be fixed. Great mod, crap 510.

that is one thing that I noticed with my stock 510... the pos pin didnt move freely. once I swapped a FDV in it it works flawlessly now. Seemed like the insulator is a bit tight in the stock one, and when it gets dirty it tends to bind the pos pin up in it. I was gonna try to clean it up, but it was so easy to replace it I went that way.

EDIT: The other replies posted before mine went up answers the question I had.
Except now I have a new one: How does one replace the 510? That must require some disassembly of the unit, right? I guess I should go ahead and look for just such a guide/video and scrape up some change to have one on hand, because if something CAN go wrong, it WILL go wrong. I live by Murphy's Law. ;)

Do you mean the 510 on the Reuleaux rx200 can be replaced? Or that the whole unit can be replaced (via warranty)? I'm not having these issues (yet) but better to be prepared when/if it happens. And if it's as simple
as having a cheapish (I hope) part on hand.....

They are talking about manually replacing the 510 connector on the rx200. I'm gonna order another box mod this week, probably Tuesday so I have a back up.

Unfortunately I don't have tools to replace the 510 connector

I mean replace the 510 connector on the RX. You'll do better talking to Noob, he's actually done it. He has also posted a very nice pic series about how to do it, which I will cheerfully link you once I get home and can. Yes, it requires disassembly of the machine, plus a soldering iron and a drill and a Dremel. Basically, you take it apart, remove the 510 connector, drill a hole in the top of the mod for the stem of a Fat Daddy Vapes or Varitube 510 connector, install the latter, and put it back together. You'll have to desolder the existing 510, and the board to remove it, then solder them back. It is also necessary to Dremel out the top rear portion of the battery sled to make room for the new 510 stem, plus remove the atty stabilizer ridges on the top if you want a flush connector. If the connector stands proud, you can leave the ridges.

Bman, if I wasn't two hours from you and feeling like crap today I would lend you a mod. That sucks.

Do you think it needs a new 510?
Trust me if this thing didn't work this morning I'd probably drive the 2 hours to get a mod from you. I appreciate the offer for sure, thank you for that.

I do think the 510 needs replaced because the 510 they used is really cheap. I guess you get what you pay for with a $40 mod at our cost. The wholesale places probably get it for $20 lol

No apologies necessary! This is a pretty open thread! As far as the normal deck for the TFV4 goes it looked like too much of a PITA for me to build on cuz I didn't even want to try to get the coil legs bent right to go in the side holes & it didn't look like the screws on the top were enough to hold a build well! So I went ahead & bought the Clapton deck with massive screws to hold any build! I'm using the stock coil that came with the deck but I think I got too much wick in it because I get dry hits even down at 20w! Does anybody have a link for a wicking tutorial for the TFV4?

On another note! I am really looking forward to my Rayon getting here so I can do a good comparison to cotton in the coils I posted earlier!

once the budget eases a bit and I can order the parts and attain a successful build, I will offer my fellow MTers an at-cost 510 replacement service.

I know nothing about wicking the TFV, dadda, and good eye on the "open thread" issue. I should have made the same point when I responded.
@Bman123 got it for me! You should look into a TFV4! So far the dual clapton & the sextuple prebuilts are some pretty good stuff! I'm so looking forward to the octo-claptons getting here tuesday! If they hold true to form with the other coils they outta be mind blowing!
