Well, I guess the VTR won't be returning to the wishlist. I talked to my husband about it last night, and showed him a VTR and what I would want him to do to it, but he nixed the idea of spending $60 on something only to perform amateur surgery on it. So I guess I'll go back to dreaming about a Kato clone.

You do realize you don't "have" to cut off the top ring, right? It does come with an adapter that you can mount anything on. Of course that makes it taller. Personally I have no idea why some cut it. I wouldn't consider cutting mine. But we are all different. :)

Nah, it's the side-mounting I find most attractive about the VTR and Kato; all my mods are currently tubes, and they're quite tall; I like the lower profile. It appeals to my sense of economy of space. :D

Maybe I can pick up a VTR in the classies at some point; then he might not object to the idea of modifying it.

Have you ever used the adapter with an rba attached? It really sucks. Tried it once and never used it again. Cutting off the ring was the best thing that I have done. I have pretty well been using the VTR none stop since I did that. Don't knock it until you've tried it.

That sucks but it is understandable. My VTR was 13 months old and sitting in the drawer so I had no problems with cutting it up.

Nope. Never wanted to. I'm content with the I30 that came with it.

That was my problem. I had used I30s and Aerotanks on it but just lost interest in using them so it went in the drawer. I far prefer using a Kayfun and making all my own coils. That in itself is a big saving. My wife uses I30s and I need to keep a bunch of coils on hand so she does not run out. Costs me very little to get 100ft of wire and a bag of cotton balls and that lasts a very long time.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I liked the 30. Didn't like the 30s and I'm a bottom coil guy. Once I tried a Fogger there was no looking back. Now I have a bunch of unused 30's sitting around. My wife likes the 30s and she's a top coil person. I've got to get around to taking some photos and listing it all in the classies.

hmmmmm, that’s interesting to hear...

wonder which is true (it’s not efficient) (or your power-vaping style)

the Evolv “DNA Experience” microchip is an exclusive “device only” build
thought it would be very ‘thrifty’ with battery life
also having reverse polarity protection, step down technology and 20w limit

guessin you are using UN-protected & at least a 20A battery at minimum ??

with the quality & price, I am debating getting one for the wife unit…

she is not big on box-mods, but might end up with an istick 30/leather case

I'm using two month old HE2s and 25Rs...I'm sure it's just that I've been chain vaping. I really like the DNA20 (Evolv Experience) board much more than the DNA30. The step down is noticeable and I don't need to adjust down at all; it hits where it should. I find myself reaching for the SVD2.0 quite a bit when using my Nautilus and Nautilus Mini while I'm at home. I'm seriously considering picking up another one...I just can't decide on which color. :)

Dang, I'd call that better than decent. Most other places it's anywhere from $80 to $110.

Andria...I checked out the excellent site in your signature:

Angry Vaper - Home

It has a link to a thought provoking article that states:

The adoption of electronic cigarettes disrupts popular conceptions of nicotine as a drug. Nicotine was demonized along with tobacco - indeed the two were seen as indistinguishable in terms of harm. Separating nicotine from tobacco brings to the fore questions of what kind of drug this is, why people use it, and why people like it. It raises issues about nicotine addiction as opposed to tobacco addiction: is addiction to nicotine per se a 'problem' if it is not accompanied by impairment, intoxication, harmful health consequences or harms to others? If nicotine is a relatively benign drug on a par perhaps with caffeine, if people find it functionally useful and pleasurable, what then would be the reasons - if any - to discourage its use?

Thanks! I've been trying to figure out where to go with it next; there are always more good articles to link to, but not sure what further sections to have. Maybe some of my unique recipes; so far there are just 2 really unique ones, but I'm sure that figure will grow, the longer I do this. Today I've been looking at different templates, to give it a facelift, but then I go back and look at it the way it is right now, and I'm kinda baffled at how I could make it better (by my own standards!) -- it's already got a dark background and lots of cobalt/purple, so it's right up my artistic alley. :D

And I definitely need to include a prominent article about battery safety. I've been following some of that sort of threads around here and it's just appalling, the kind of treatment that some B&Ms are giving noobies with these powerful batteries. I'm at a bit of a disadvantage about Ohm's Law, though; I just use the Steam Engine and make sure to keep my resistances fairly high, because math and I do NOT get along at all. :D Guess I could just link to some of the important stuff about that around here, and give the link for Steam Engine, and try to explain the whole shebang in terms a layman could understand, because those are the only terms *I* understand! :D

The longer I vape (over a year) the easier it seems to go without nicotine. This weekend we went to Downtown Disney to meet some friends for lunch. I left my vape stuff at our daughter's house. The kids drove us there and dropped us off, came back later and we all had a visit, then left for home. A few hours without vaping and I never had that panicky feeling like I did without a cig back in those days.

When I started to make that realization I started to realize that Nic. no longer had the death hold on me that it did at one time and I started to lower my Nic. level and continue to slowly drop my level about every 3-5 months.

Some day I will get brave enough to try zero nic for a day.

Yeah that is how I am as well, but I have not vaped as long as you.

I can go for a whole day without a vape and I use 24mg Nic.

Not bad for a former 2 pack a day user.

Honestly there has to be something more in cigarettes to get you hooked besides Nic.

I wont bother going through the process of qualification but suffice it to say that I have had a fair amount of exposer to addictive drugs and I can tell you for a fact that even when I was able to supply my body with as much Nic. as it wanted, it was still jonesing for all the other little things that are in tobacco.

Me too, that's why I'm still using WTA, though I'm down to 7% of my juice being WTA (from 10%). So far so good, no cravings at all in my slow reduction process, so at the end of the month I'll be going down to 6%. It's possible I could reduce the WTA much faster than I'm doing, the 1% reduction each month, but I want NO MORE of those godawful cravings EVER, so I'm reducing it slowly. By the end of September I should be completely done with it -- but I'll still keep some handy... just in case. ;)
