Anywayz... I just received eyndyel dM's Tutorial via email and I'd like to share it with everyone. :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HYBRID U-CAN
lets start of with the easy part.. :)
for the bottom fire, you'll be needing a flower type allen wrench and unscrew the button then unscrew the pole of the plunger. cut off the extra thread from the pole to a smooth flat finish and there goes your contact to the neg of the battery.
an o-ring should do the trick to have a bit space between the contact and the neg.
now the hard part..
i used a "threaded spacer" trimmed down to make it a little slimmer, found allen screws that matches the thread and some brass bolts for the neg and positive contacts. positive pole is more like twice as long as the neg pole. tricky part is the insulator for the pos pole coz i cant find any that would fit except the roller of a cheese cutter comes free when you buy a bar of cheese(eden).. :) hope you find something better...
the rest is just drilling holes after holes until you can feel the tips of your fingers nomore.. :)
best part is when you are done drilling the last 1.5mm airhole on the topcap.. wick and wire... freshly charged AW18350.. fav juice.. fire away and vape with a grin on your face...
while tips of your fingers still numb from all the drilling... :)
this is the most that i can do.. hope it helps.
Like LouEyez said, a quick tap knocks the key ring out. It's just press fit into the cap.
The bottom button gave me a bit more grief. I had to hit the hardware store and find a T-6 Torx bit for the screw on the bottom.
To remove it, I had to use needle nose pliers in the two little holes in the plunger to keep it from spinning.
I haven't done any modding yet though... I'm still trying to work out what I want to do with the bottom button. Plus, I need to find a lighter spring... Although the stock spring would make for good hand exercise... :|
OK. So the bottom: I removed the small black gasket on the button. This allows for a bit of sloppy play on firing; but guarantees good contact (over and above the spring only). I found the battery compartment spacing to be rather limited, in that the battery had to be "X" distance from the bott. to make a good tight fit. This created too much throw in the button. So battery has a 1/32" mag. spacer. This puts my throw (bott button) @ a little more than the feeling that you might think about firing. (i.e. ~ 1/32") Now the tiny bit of slop from removing the bottom gasket is irrelevant. (Yes, I can set it down and it never fires)
The top: 4-40 brass pan-head machine screw, nylon spacer from hdwr. store, weird clear plastic sleeve (from ? my junk box) (just fills screw OD/ nylon ID), AGA insulator, top, o-ring (AGA insulator sleeve runs past in height), nuts. Top has fat o-ring which gives me play on aligning air hole & buys some height in chamber.
So, ready to wikicoil it up. There's a 1/2mm gap between the deck-skirt and the cap ID. I just let my neg wire hang over the edge, and bammo. I do make sure the wire has the right kinks to have the point nearest the coil make surest contact.
Cap it, juice it, vape it. :)
Good to go!
GREAT IDEA!!! THANKS, ENDYEL DM!
I know. I dremmelled an + and used a bigger drill bit to start and then used the small one to make the air hole...was a b atch and looks like it wasn't easy to make :(
I did a "fluid" test where I put 12 drops and waited a few hours to see if any liquid made it down the positive or negative posts...it seems to be holding up ok.
Had a little incident a few minutes ago, I couldn't quite fit my drip tip well, so I filed down one of them, got it to fit perfectly, and got to vaping.
I think that the drip tip (aluminum I believe) touched the center post as I was firing the button...
Suddenly the screw I'm using on the button that touches the neg part of the battery got really hot, so much I had to drop the mod.
Replaced the tip with a plastic one, and things are fine now...lesson learned I guess, but if anyone is making, has made, or is planning on making one, please keep that in mind...
Decent vape. For 28awg I like it around 0.6ohm, I had to give it a little extra since the 18350's are 8C.
Many thanks for the interesting idea. :thumb:
Nice! So you found it in yourself to drill one more hole, huh? (vent) I ran out of holes. Where'd you get the cool blue o-ring? I'm mostly curious how people set up their contacts on the deck, and I can't see yours clearly :(. Whatcha got goin' on up there?
