I really wanna see what's under yours, Jasl! How's your u-can progressing?

BTW: double 510s and a '350 battery? hmmmmmm :?:

Was planning on getting most of it done tonight... The belt on my drill press had different plans. :(
So, basically out of commission until the new belt gets here.

That said, I do have my design finalized in my headand I'm 99% sure about how I'm going to do it. (Hint... It's going to involve copper pennies and magnets)

I have intentionally tried to flood mine to leak through the post to no avail. I do need to work on my bottom contact though as I feel if I get the plain more even it will fire more consistently, but it does fire great as is. All in all for the small amount of time, labor, and cash I put into this mod I am impressed and thankful to the person that thought this up.

There is no way I possess the skills to perform such an involved modification. That being said, I am duly impressed with the workmanship. Absolutely brilliant idea to convert a "U Can" into an 18350 mod. If anyone is interested in selling one let me know. Alternatively, I could ship my U-Can with payment for the work to perform the conversion

Just a thought

Thanks :D The posts are scavenged from one of those ERA clones I got in a co-op. I tried popping the post and insulator on 2 Igo-L's to no avail then started eyeing my much loved clone and decided to give it a whirl. It worked like a charm :D
I haven't started with my Ucan yet coz I haven't found the right materials... I guess I'll dismantle my ERA clone too. ;)

For those looking for posts... I'm using PCB stand-offs... Drilling a through hole in the side for the wire and then grinding them down to the diameter that I want. I haven't completed assembly yet but I can post a pic of a test post I made once I get home.

No need to destroy another working RBA for posts...

True there really is no need, but you have gotta admit it looks good with actual atty posts :D If I had paid more than 6 bux for my clone it would still be sitting on one of my devices though lol.

Well... Thought I had my switch done last night and had planned on getting to top deck done today... Not so much...
A trip to ACE changed my mind with regards to the switch and quick test fit of my posts has them touching the ring in the top cap...

Anyway, I did go ahead and get the switch redone and I'm loving it. Here are a few pics...
These are the 4 components broken up.

I used 3 copper pennies, ground down and soldered together to beef up the area under the battery deck to make solid contact switch post. The switch post (the part I found at ACE made me rethink the original design) is a 1/4" aluminum spacer with 8/32 threading.

I sanded and polished it to slide smoothly through a 1/4" hole in the pennies.

The spring was an extra that came w my PAPs... Perfect fit!

The battery pin is just a 8/32 brass, pan head screw, ground down low enough to keep off the battery when not firing.

Here is the assembled switch...
