Ello,

Okay, i've been vaping for a lil over 2 weeks. [quit smoking immediately] I also got a friend of mine to start on the e-cigs!!! yay! maybe he'll quit smoking too soon if he hasn't already.
i've had a major upswing in stress @ work...so this may just be related to that...
but my friend said he'd been having trouble with the same issue.

I'll start off by saying my nicotine cravings are ENTIRELY gone with my e-cig [i luv this thing!]

the first week was rough...i guess cause of all the other chemicals in regular cigs...

but now that i got my nic levels just right i am having a lot of trouble sleeping at night. My friend said he spilled some e-juice on his hand one night and was buzzing around for a couple hours...

sometimes i load my cartos badly and get the slurping noise... i have pretty much eliminated that issue by just blowing out the excess in the other end. but maybe some of the actual liquid was slurping into my mouth?

idk...maybe this is a sign to lay off a bit before bed?

is anyone else having trouble falling asleep? it takes me like 2 hrs now and i wake up through out the night. Sounds like i just quit smoking...but this didn't happen till my 2nd week of vaping.

When we start something we we will first jump to something that we have changed in our life to blame for the fact we can not sleep. Nicotine is a stimulant very similar to caffeine so it can cause sleeping trouble.

With that said though I have been vaping for two years and I have never had trouble falling asleep. I vape in bed all the time and I am a very heavy vapor. Then again I also drink coffee before bed too. I cant wake up without either also.

I think the stress you have is currently leading to your sleeping troubles. I know when I am stressed about something I can never fall asleep!

ty you guys!!!!

and i do want to add that it's well worth it if i'm not smoking. i LOVE vaping!!!!

not trying to blame it on the vaping...just wondering if i've missed something and need to make adjustments or if it's just my crazy life that needs adjusting. If not for my friend saying he had the same issue i wouldn't even be thinking on it.

to me...even if e-cigs turn out to be just as bad for my health as regulars [which i highly doubt!!!!] it's still worth it! i like it more...and it's smells sooooooooooooo much better. will save me money... and erm... i cough less =]

even if it does turn out to be unhealthy its soo much better then analogs, in my opinion anyway... and being a fellow NYer well ya know the whole $10 a pack thing...

try not vaping so much before going to sleep...tweak your habit a lil ...also its still new to you, and I know when I first started to quit analogs,as many others probably did too, I chained vaped morning noon and night just to get that satisfaction from the analogs

I've been reducing my nic levels over the past six weeks and it's this drop from 12 to 6 mg that's suddenly throwing me for a spin.
I'm having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep and I'm getting flooded with weird and sometimes frightening dreams almost every night.
So I guess either way things can go a bit loopy sleep wise?

If this is nicotine withdraws you can smoke a stronger juice before bed and smoke your lighter juice during the day.

I've got a pretty scarey story involving my all day/ everyday 24mg.........
I decreased my nic at 5pm for a few days, then went to straight 6mg all day /everyday. I can now sleep. I heard the stories, never thought it would catch up to me, but it did.

My story is too long to share at the moment, but nicotine is a stimulant, & stress will also affect your sleeping pattern.

I've had no untoward affects from going so quickly from 24mg to 6.

I had a hard time getting to sleep/sleeping and very vivid dreams when I first started but it passed within a couple weeks. I remember the same thing happened to me the other times when I quit smoking either cold turkey or with gum, whatever. I kind of think it has something to do with the withdrawal on the other crap your body's so used to getting regularly that you've suddenly and abruptly stopped getting. I dunno but it didn't last long with me. Actually, after that initial phase, I sleep better than I ever did smoking.

i feel like vaping wakes me up better then analogs did... i attribute it to the difference in chemicals... like i'm missing a lot of the poison i was getting from analogs so maybe it's more of a stimulant now then cigs were before...? I must be getting more oxygen in my blood stream with out all that crap!

but the issue is resolving it's self. i've slept like a baby for the last few days =] w/o making changes.

Yeppers, I've heard that story time and time again. The insomnia, the delusional dreaming, the night waking...can be a living hell. Add to that the anxiety from trying to quit cigs and worrying about what is wrong with you and you're only compounding the problem. Others scoff and say they've never had a problem but take it from me those symptoms can be quite common, but the good news is they will also pass relatively quickly.

The best advice said on these posts is that it took awhile to become a smoker and now it will take awhile to become a nonsmoker. All of the suggestions so far are good ones, cutting your nic intake by steadyly decreasing the mg content and reducing the vaping as it gets closer to bedtime should really help. Most of all, don't worry, what you are experiencing is normal. As they say, you've just got to ride it out.
