Ok, got my strata today. Just starting to experiment. I will post thoughts and pics when I get to a computer.

One thing first though. I'm struggling a little with machine oil taste. I have boiled, and boiled again with some Dawn in the water. I have scrubbed with soap. I suspect oil may be in the air passages. Anyone have any pointers on how to remove it? The air passages are too small to get much in there for scrubbing.

Yeah, that reminds me to remind folks to wash thoroughly. When these are machined, the CNC uses coolant to cool and lubricate as it's machining, though we rinse them and blow them out, theres always some residue behind, especially in the tight passages, so you'll need to clean and repeat as necessary.

Thanks to Nach... I had an opportunity to take a quick crack at the Strata and I have to say it is very promising. The 360 air flow is perfect for the Ophion as Nach suggested. Long story short, this happened... and he was right!

Here's the vapor production... Video

My conclusion... it has a lot of potential. If I'm given the chance to have a good sit and build time on it, I can build the perfect ophion coil on it (unlike the rush build shown above) and it will produce more vapor.

Again, thank you Nach for the opportunity and he will now guide you on how to build an ophion coil :)

Do you know of a detailed video or write up on how to make this coil, looks like a winner. It really creates a lot of surface area on the wick and takes advantage of the 360 degree airflow. I'll have to give it a go myself!

I'll work on a write up/pictorial of this as soon as I can.

Hey Dave,
Couple of questions...
1) If I order a precise parts kit can it be combined with my strata order since I don't have a shipping notification for igher spring.t yet so I'm not paying double shipping?
2) where can I get a HD replacement spring for my precise since you're sold out...

I was just looking for a HD spring this morning and was going to ask same question. But noticed they were out. I gotta get me stronger spring.

Simplicity Strata acquired. 1 down, 1 to go...

I typically like all satin. I ain't much of a bling guy. But yours looks pretty killer.

I hope that one day Super Dave will do a complete stealth hybrid 18350 simplicity in DLC. It's a killer black coating they put on knives and guns.

I also have to say I love the fit and finish of my P+.
