First Impressions:

- Build quality is exactly what I expected from Super T. Fit and finish are excellent.
- Building this thing is a bit of a challenge with the contact points being level with the deck. It would have been nice if they were raised a bit, but I can certainly deal with that. I also would like to see slots in the negative screw posts for use of a flat head screw driver, but I can work without that.
- My first build was a basic dual micro coil with cotton. 30g, 11 wraps each coil. Unknown resistance, but should be about 1 ohm... ish. coils are slower to heat up than I'm used to, probably fixable with a different build technique. I'm getting super intense flavor, and medium vapor production. A bit more throat hit than I'm used to with 6mg juice. All likely because my coils could stand to be a bit closer to the outer edge.

So far I'm liking it, I'm hopeful that after a few different builds and some experimentation I will find something that vapes outstanding.

You will.
Next time try making the looped connections at the ends first, small enough to fit nicely around the threaded portion of the posts. Then you can stick the posts through the loops first and easily crank them in. I agree, a slot on the top of the negatives would also be a convenience for getting a tight tight connection.

It can produce a helluva throat hit! Like you said, coil positioning has a lot to do with that.

I'm kind of bummed- I was under the impression that the Simplicity Stratas were to be the first shipped, as they weren't the pre-order item. I know it's petty, but it's a bit of a bummer to see the P+ version has already arrived at customers! and I have yet to get a confirmation on shipping. (I'm happy for anyone that's getting their strata already). And others have delivery dates....I'm only a state away from Super-t, so hopefully once it ships it arrives quickly.

Anyhow, I've had a really rough week, my work truck caught fire after getting stuck in the snow, still have a house we're trying to sell, was just looking forward to getting a new atomizer to distract me. I apologize for the rant, just needed to vent. I'm psyched that folks are getting theirs- I just wish I was in that group. I'm sure I'll be blown away when it finally lands.

So sorry to hear, you had a rough week. I hope you get a shipping notice, first thing, this coming week. :)

Thanks to Nach... I had an opportunity to take a quick crack at the Strata and I have to say it is very promising. The 360 air flow is perfect for the Ophion as Nach suggested. Long story short, this happened... and he was right!

Here's the vapor production... Video

My conclusion... it has a lot of potential. If I'm given the chance to have a good sit and build time on it, I can build the perfect ophion coil on it (unlike the rush build shown above) and it will produce more vapor.

Again, thank you Nach for the opportunity and he will now guide you on how to build an ophion coil :)

None of these links are working for me. Can someone repost these for me?

Well, I'm slightly discouraged at this point. I like a smooth, cool vape where the Strata is leaning toward harsh and hot. Hopefully, I'll be able to work out a build more suited to my taste.

It is far from harsh and hot. It's actually quite cool, and I think the throat hit will be able to be adjusted by coil position. Don't lose hope before you have her in your hands...

Sorry to hear about your troubles, however I received a Simplicity Strata, P+ Strata yet to come...

I'm not worried about it-it'll get here, whenever. I'll be happy when it does, just a trying week. I just recoiled my KFL, and am enjoying some Frenilla from Nicoticket, and it's delicious. Going to spends the next hour playing with my little niece.

Thanks for the kind words- waiting for a vaping accessory is hardly a big enough problem to warrant my .....ing- can't sweat the small stuff, and in the big picture, it is definitely in that category :). I hope everyone has a great night, and figure out the perfect Strata build by the time mine arrives!

Hmmm... some interesting builds... I think when mine comes I am going to try the Ophion coil but with ribbon.. I have some 30 gauge equivalent ribbon and I will try it without making any bends in the wire except for where it connects and see where the resistance lands on that. If it is high enough I will take two strands of ribbon and run them parallel with maybe a little space between them.

Should be interesting.

Right now my vape is nice and cool. I'm learning how to adjust it by positioning the coil outward or inward, up or down.
Now smooth, that seems to be an inherent quality of the Strata. Even with a tight draw it doesn't feel constricted, it is a smooth vape across the entire range. That's my favorite part about it.

For those inquiring about HD springs, we should have some more in in about a week.

OK...now what about my other question?..
Been using the 2900 mAh and 3400 mAh AW ICR...
Switching over to the AW IMRs...especially when the strata shows...
So I'm figuring I'm gonna need o rings and washers for the button...

One of the things with the Strata is, it's extremely efficient at atomizing so builds that may have worked in the past on other devices, will not produce the same results on the Strata. I run a variation of the original snork wrap, only I modified it to use two wicks split in the middle giving four feeding tails. With two it would get hot and harsh as it would atomize the liquid off faster then it could replenish. I guess if you could call the previous generation of RDA/RBA's as advanced user devices, you'd call the Strata an expert user devices as there are almost limitless setup combinations that can be done with it.

You can also Try the new Ophion wrap suggested by Nach which is a real fog machine or a variation of the pic below , only splitting the wick in the middle leaving 4 wick tails (two on the ends and two coming out the middle, its a pita to do though) . Both these types better keep up with the feed demands and maximize coil area and take advantage of the 360 airflow potential:

Hey Dave,
Couple of questions...
1) If I order a precise parts kit can it be combined with my strata order since I don't have a shipping notification for it yet so I'm not paying double shipping?
2) where can I get a HD replacement spring for my precise since you're sold out...

If its just a parts kit, we would just ship right away, we wouldn't combine unfortunately. New springs should be in in about a week.

Well I've been playing with the Strata all day. Complex device, no doubt. Some preliminary thoughts:

- The airflow design is great. Works amazingly well. There is a distinct difference between this four-channel design and the standard one air hole design. Plus the air coming from the top and heating as it descends. It is much smoother than what I'm used to. IMO it's the most unique feature of the Strata.

- I've had a hell of a time with oil residue. It is just now getting to the point where I can't taste oil. Based on snork's recommendation, I put the atty fully together and filled it from the drip tip with Dawn. Totally filled it. I then blew into the drip tip until Dawn was coming out of the top air holes. I then put more Dawn in and let it sit for an hour or so. Then I blew through the drip tip (hard), filled with hot water again, blew again, filled with water again, etc.,, until all the Dawn was out. I then repeated the process about five times. This removed most if the oil taste, but it has persisted a little until the last hour or so. It is finally going away, thank God.

- This drip tip seems huge.

- The machining and look is great, as would be expected. Flawless. Amazing fit with the P+. I am using a satin 350 and a polished 500. It looks great on both. I will post pics if I ever get to a PC.

- The build? Well, I'm working on that. As I noted, it's a complex device. More to come.
