I have a few of these custom tips to match my APV setups and colored pyrex tanks. It has SS core of 3mm inner diameter hole. It keeps the vape more warm without getting the entire tip burning hot.

Nice tips!

Thanks Cucco!

That's pretty cool! Looking forward to the tutorial.

I think it's out now. Vaping through it seemed to help the most. Maybe it's in my head to a degree, I don't know. If I ever figure out what's in my head, I'll be in good shape.

You have a stubborn case! I hope you can get it where you need to so you can enjoy it soon.

Denatured Alchohol cuts oil pretty well.

That was going to be my next suggestion. I used to use it on computer equipment. :)

However, later in the years, I had trouble with my 'safety' people regarding it's use. There may be 'safer' versions. I don't know. I used it in the 'olden' days. :)

I dropped mine in the UC with a 80% hot water 20% isopropyl alcohol solution for a good 15 minute cycle. During the cycle I used a syringe with a plastic tapered needle to flush out all the air paths. That seemed to do the trick for me.

Both of my attempts at standard dual micro coils vaped okay. Flavor was super intense, but throat hit was too much and vapor production wasn't very good. I now have an Ophion coil setup and it is working pretty darn good. Still awesome flavor, milder throat hit and much more vapor. I'll keep this setup rolling for a few days to see how it holds up.

Has anyone done just a standard silica wick with some hand made coils or reg micro ? Im not a cloud chaser , I dont need to fill the room up with vapor, taste and smooth hit and cool to mildly warm is my preference.
Yes ma'am, for two days that's what I've been using. 1.5 ohm Ready Wire on 3mm silica. I chose the Ready Wire so I could coil it completely yet leave NR legs long enough that I can experiment with positioning easily on the fly. It is a vape similar to my Infinity, wonderful, mildly warm, and the succulent smooth draw is what has me hooked.
Can someone explain what positioning of the coil does? Not necessarily why, but what effect does it have on the vapor.

....coil mounter closer to the posts versus farther out toward the periphery?

....coil tilted up and away from the base vs down and closer to the base?

Gracias.
Inward towards the positive and upward from the base both seem to increase heat and throat hit. I haven't noticed a difference in vapor production.

Awesome! Exactly what I was trying to find out. Gives me a good feel for what to try depending on my build results. Thanks!

I'm also getting the idea that coil surface area in contact with the wick, the wick's wicking ability, and air flow are also important considerations.

I just ordered another P+ Strata. It would be stupid not to given my experience so far.

I have to say, when David announced the Strata I was skeptical. No atomizer has been able to shake me off of my Infinity, much less an atomizer made by a guy who had never made one before. The beta testing didn't help my attitude much - I never could get the beta unit to perform to my expectations. I was really nervous about the release model.

The release version is superb. Better than any other dripper I've ever tried. I'm not just saying this because I'm a Super-T freak, for me it's the truth.

There are now 7 P+ Stratas left.

Hmmm... some interesting builds... I think when mine comes I am going to try the Ophion coil but with ribbon.. I have some 30 gauge equivalent ribbon and I will try it without making any bends in the wire except for where it connects and see where the resistance lands on that. If it is high enough I will take two strands of ribbon and run them parallel with maybe a little space between them.

Should be interesting.

Agreed - really looking forward to building on the Strata (waiting on my ELA version...). Ophion coil for sure, maybe a modified snorkwrap (a la Dave) but I think I might try the Tiger Coil in the Ophion formation blending regular kanthal and ribbon to get the best of both worlds!
