Frog I'll give your stuff a try, so will I just stick a raw leaf in the chamber or will I have to dry, I've never tried any home grown tobacco so whats the proper procedure for using it in with the iolite?? I figured I'd ask in the thread instead of a pm so everyone else could gain from your knowledge. :)

I'm a noob at growing, this is my first season. I bought some seeds from ebay without much hope and they grew real easy. Its just like growing tomato plants. They were £1 for 100 seeds

I have tried both fresh and home cured, there are some websites about curing and even building little home curing boxes. I just lay the leaf outside in the hot sun on a nice day until it goes brown. If I used a lot more tobacco I would get more serious about it but I dont use a lot.

The fresh green leaf tastes woody and mild and doesnt give much nicotine hit. I think thats because it is mostly water. The dried leaves are much better and have quite a rich and pleasant flavour. Its quite labour intensive compared to buying a pouch of American Spirit but its fun to grow your own and you know for sure that it's clean. I have just been shredding the leaves up and packing them into the herb chamber.

Theres a lot of room for experimantation, making your own shisha etc. It's a nice topic and costs almost nothing. I used some honey to make a mixture which sounded like a great idea but it didnt work well, and then I found out about the botulism risk with inhaling honey 8-o

Now frog you've got me thinking as well, I'm sure its possible to make our own home made version of molasses with a nicotine kick to it. Maybe we could take the dried tobacco leaf, and soak it in VG, and for the added flavor we could use lorann's or any other flavoring.

Panic is part of the withdrawl from smoking. Besides nicotine is just one af a suite of chemicals in cigarettes we are addicted to, these chemicals interract with each other and this cocktail is far more addictive than nicotine alone. This is why many e-smokers and NRT users suffer panic attacks, the nicotine alone is not enough to overcome the withdrawl. The Iolite releases a bunch alkaloids besides nicotine. THIS THREAD explains it.

I feel that the transition from cigarettes or a pipe to the Iolite is a much easier one than switching to ecigs. I highly recommend using only organic tobacco (such as American Spirit) or even better grow your own.

My own tobacco plants are doing well :)

thanks for that - i am going to try growing some tobacco too
time for research

oh man - i am starting to like my iolite better than my ecig in some ways

before i vape it - the tobacco reeks of super strong tar and tobacco smell - these are the left over butts of my smoking no filter buglers 2 months ago - one little .... makes two iolite fills

then when i vape it in the iolite i get super strong tobacco flavor and a little bit of vapor and it is quite harsh and i get a good buzz like i smoked 2 analogs too fast

it sure seems weird to dump the tobacco out of my iolite into my hand after vaping and then try to smell it - there is no smell to it at all

Could the fact that the tobacco was so old and just sitting out in the open have anything to do with vapor production, and taste? I'm gona wait till I get the stuff from Frog to experiment as I really don't feel like inhaling chemicals unnecessarily.

the tobacco that does not have any smell is the stuff that i vaped in the iolite -

the old tobacco that i saved from the leftovers of previous analogs are in a sealed can and they have a super strong smell and super amounts of tar

remember these are roll my own unfiltered bugler tobacco cigarettes that i smoked and saved the butts - the butts are just the left over tobacco that didn't get burned since there is no filter and that tobacco had lots of smoke puffed through it

when the price of tobacco went from $ 12 a can to $ 32 a can overnight - i started saving the leftovers of my cigarettes by cutting the fire off with scissors - instead of snuffing them out - then i took that .... and put it in a can to save .

so now i have a bunch of these saved up and i can use them a couple times a day to vape in the iolite if i get tired of vaping the ecig

if you ever do try vaping some tobacco - then after you finish it and dump it out - take a pinch of it and see if you can smell anything - then take a pinch of tobacco that has not been vaped and see the difference

Hmm hopefully mixing it with PG or VG will help with getting more vapor out of it, I don't think I could vape without vapor :p I found loads of sellers on ebay selling tobacco seeds but unfortunately I have no room to grow it anywhere since I live in a flat. :( The plants I saw all seem to get fairly big in size. If I could I'd love to try some havana tobacco

Super. Look forward to the report.

It's coming later on today :)

Great, glad it arrived. It looks a bit bruised from the journey but at least it got there :)

How did you dry it?

Andy

was too impatient to leave it out in the sun + im in ireland that would have taken weeks, so one half in the oven, and one half on the grill :p lol hopefully it'll work

If you decide to start growing your own you might want to invest in a small dehydrator. I love dehydrators they work great.

I always wanted to get one of those to make my own beef jerky since you can't buy it in Ireland :(

I have the 9 shelf Excalibur that I purchased over 11 years ago and it still works like a champ. I dehydrate a lot of fruits. Have never really done beef jerky because I can buy a bag of jerky at our dollar store for $1.00.

You don't know how lucky you are :) I love that stuff. Have to order it from the UK

Usually it's quite expensive over here, even at Walmart's, but I recently found it at the dollar store as I'd mentioned and I bought quite a few bags and repackaged them and froze the. I love it too!
